While I do like Bigscreen for what it is, I have one major complaint which actually sounds like it might have been fixed in an update that you mentioned. The issue I have is while setting up a room and inviting someone to come watch, our movies are not synced. My mom and I have tried to watch movies in bigscreen at least 3 times since we have had our Quest 2's and every time I set up the room and when she gets in I will start playing the movie but only mine starts. Even if both of our headsets start playing at the same time we eventually get a 3-5 second if not more of a gap between what we are seeing.
It is because you are the ones streaming. The data from the PC will go to your headset because you own the room, and from your headset, you will broadcast now the data to all other people to see. That's why you see the movie first before others even you both lives in the same house or same network.

Frankly, if you have enough money for the Quest 3, go for it directly because it comes with numerous new features that enhance video quality. I just ordered the Quest 2 a few days ago, mostly due to budget reasons and because, for a first VR experience, I prefer going for something less expensive. Nonetheless, I could keep you updated on the video quality of the Quest 2, considering I’m a total beginner in this field.

I have bigscreen on the quest 2 and saw you can watch youtube in it now so I called my friend so we could watch together but when I play something she said that it just says video restricted by the owner on a black screen or something like that and it only happens on youtube videos any idea what could be going on?
I can guarantee your not watching raw uncompressed 3d video. The machine to play such a video would have to be a beast and your storage would have to be of a ridiculous size for one video.
@@tony2707 I understand your meaning… once for the disk and second for the mkv. However, there is a way to play it on the headset without a third compression which is most commonly done (mp4). If my friend had this too and invited me to something he was watching or vice versa, could we hear each other speak? @@ricky1319 yup if they were to do that and also allow you to invite people to watch Netflix with you then that would be perfect
@@litrpgre-roll7929 yeah you have a point I wish it was slightly higher but I manage just fine I guess. The prime video works just fine as well just needs more rooms as well. With big screen you have like 12 different rooms you can pick from but the issue with that is if you don't have a computer it's hard for you to use remote desktop to stream movies to it. It's not impossible because you can download movies to your phone and download DLNA server and watch movies that way. But honestly my real opinion is that you should be able to change the viewing angles in which you watch movies other than having to use the void theater
Netflix does have an option to watch in plain black space. It's the option top left of the TV. Not immediately obvious.
hi any chance you can do an update on bigscreen since recent update its been bad they have blocked full screen to watch youtube and cant watch netflix through pc anymore im sure theres more apps ect that dont work
I absolutely love the app and it has UA-cam but I have an account which has all my movies can I bought so many couple friends can watch movies that I have I love it because not only watch the movie but also talk and hang out big screen is definitely worth it if you want to watch movies with your friends in VR
Is there an app without being in a room/theatre?
Was very nice for an on-board app. Thanks for the suggestion.
Still love skybox and use it daily but I'm waiting for the IMAX screen update.
Thos was such an awesome, to the point and entertaining video! Thanks!!!
Hi, is it possible to watch movies from my blu ray player?
Should one upgrade Q2 to Q3 if uses this device only for movie watching?
Frankly, if you have enough money for the Quest 3, go for it directly because it comes with numerous new features that enhance video quality. I just ordered the Quest 2 a few days ago, mostly due to budget reasons and because, for a first VR experience, I prefer going for something less expensive. Nonetheless, I could keep you updated on the video quality of the Quest 2, considering I’m a total beginner in this field.
sflix had every movie thx so much
hi I have a question for you can't seem to find the answer anywhere thought you might know and help out!
I have bigscreen on the quest 2 and saw you can watch youtube in it now so I called my friend so we could watch together but when I play something she said that it just says video restricted by the owner on a black screen or something like that and it only happens on youtube videos any idea what could be going on?
Lol that word salad bible quote that pops up
One of my favorite apps.
Watching uncompressed 3D movies in VR is the ultimate experience!!! I love it 🥰
I can guarantee your not watching raw uncompressed 3d video. The machine to play such a video would have to be a beast and your storage would have to be of a ridiculous size for one video.
@@tony2707 I rip the 3D disk using MakeMKV and stream it directly in bigscreen without any further compression. Looks awesome!
@@volt8ge thats not only not uncompressed but thats compressed twice
@@tony2707 I understand your meaning… once for the disk and second for the mkv. However, there is a way to play it on the headset without a third compression which is most commonly done (mp4). Where artifacts are clearly visible. Without this third compression, artifacts are not visible at all. It’s very clear and looks very sharp for 1080p.
@@volt8ge That sounds pretty cool! What do you use for streaming it?
If my friend had this too and invited me to something he was watching or vice versa, could we hear each other speak? That being our only connection, no other link up, just an invite to one another's screen. Also unless I missed it, if I was watching something from my media vi usb (or internal storage), could i still invite someone in my screen to view the same video? Thanks.
hi i have a question currently i have a very potato laptop and i was wondering should i buy pc first then quest 2 or other way around ?
Quest because of the standalone games you can play while you save up.
Van you do this alone too like an private cinema
I LOVE BIGSCREEN!!! Such a fun app
I can finally watch UP with my friends! 🥺🙂
Great movie!
i have installed plex on my linux pc but oculus quest 2 doesn't detect any dlna, can you make a whole video on connecting a plex media in bigscreen ?
Love this
Can you stream Netflix or Disney plus in big screen?
