@@DelightfulTravellers thanks Anna I'm feeling much better now, if its ok with you I would like to refer your channel to the Dominican first lady hopefully you can get some acknowledgment, I believe your videos are doing great service to the country. Thanks.
And to answer your question at 18:45 , most Dominicans understand very well the importance and impact of tourism and foreign investment, foreigners aren’t the only ones investing. A lot of Dominican internal wealth is being reinvested and Dominicans who live in the US are also major investors including myself. I think the growth is great , and I’m so proud of the advancement my country has made in the last 25 years , but like the Japanese say , don’t drink too much. The growth is remarkable but we need to also think about the long term and ensure the social responsibility remains strong and is fortified even more.
Very interesting Luis, we have been hearing that LT in particular has become possibly the most sought after area for tourists (buying and renting) in the Caribbean. While prices were very reasonable a few years ago the prices have been increasing. LT seems to have small micro communities within the town that feature different cultural aspects. As you said I hope that long term effects are being fully considered.
Let's not hide the "sun with a finger" a Dominican saying. Yes, development is great, however without good urban planning is disastrous and the basic in fractures that goes with it. The terrible corrupt governments of the past 20 years and continues. Dominicans have always had their beach villas in Samana and their mountain retreat in Jarabacoa, of course wealthy Dominicans, just as wealthy New Yorkers in the Hamptons or Bostonians in Martha's Vineyards. Dominicans have always invested in their country. What I don't want to happen is these massive hotels of 600 rooms, all-inclusive, only benefiting the hotel companies, leaving crumbs to the communities. Samana is a very small territory and a fragile eco-system, needs to be protected, we all know the terrible damage and greed of our politicians, have done already, is up to us to be guardians. The history of Samana goes from the French that wanted to build their "empire" port city to the US who wanted to establish a military zone but had to settle for Guantanamo.
@@louisescano3961 the hotels aren’t leaving crumbs to the community when Dominicans who work there can make hundreds of dollars in tips which is life changing. Millions of Dominicans are out of poverty because of those hotels, did every single citizen benefit equally ? No , and that is ok , it will never be perfect , as long as we keep moving forward and improving are country will be good. And all of what you’re saying is definitely discussed and recognized
@@LuisRodriguez-tm1ld You know that the service industry is the worse paid industry in general. First, most of the TOP management is not even Dominican. The benefits that this hotels companies have, with all the tax breaks, all inclusive are geared to a particular public, that pays a sum of money, in their countries and will not likely venture out. You think they are that generous to be tipping, is an all inclusive. How many of the staff is Dominican, as other industries in the country you know very well who are employed. To develop a country is through education, innovation, research. We are a rich country with talented people that have to emigrate, because of a corrupt governments that need to keep a mass population uneducated, in public assistance and given hand outs, painting themselves as demi-Gods saviors. I don't want to make this into a debate and certainly I value the amazing job of Trevor and Anna, my apologies for using your platform for this. God bless.
I feel that the main concern with Las Terrenas growing and becoming more popular is that it may gradually turn into another Punta Cana. I personally love the "small town" charm that characterizes Las Terrenas, I just hope that developers and real estate folks don't ruin the essence of the town by proliferating the whole area with high-priced condos, villas, and hotels.
I visited there in 2004 and it was totally different. I personally preferred it when it was undeveloped and natural. There are more options for accommodation with it being developed. They usually trash the place when over developed and I hope this don't happen there.
We feel like it's in a perfect spot right now with development. But there sure is a lot of land that I imagine developers will snag up. I can't see it becoming another Punta Cana but there's no doubt about it that it will develop more. It seems like it's just getting started really - Trevor
Dominican here , I'm 45 and have been visiting Terrenas since I was born and my family has been going there before me, no way it will happen mainly to the large expat community .

Hope to see you guys there and share a coffee u and ice cream with you guys. Stay well and safe out there. Also maybe on your next video you can talk about how is the safety condition there please.
BTW, my 1st visit to Las Terrenas was back in 1980 (just a 15 year old teen) and immediately fell in love. It was a almost 4 hr trip from the capital. There was just Portillo as a resort development and you could buy 1.5 -2 acres of land beachfront for about US$10,000 (That land would cost now over US$1 million (not very smart of my dad not to buy, because to him “it was way to far” to ever develop...not long after, he “invested” 6 times that on a 600 sq meter land -no beach front- in Nagua or about half way from Cabarete to Las terrenas). Las time I was there, was 6 years ago and, from your videos, there’s definitely a real state boom👍 I hope one day to retire there🙏
We are booked for Las Terrenas as well as Punta Cana, Bahyibe, and more. You will reach 100k very soon. Quality channel and great characters the both of you. Subscribed from my other channel Tony & Laura

We were there during last week in December. We are thinking of buying a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment there. We live in Miami, but loved Las Terrenas.
QnA: How is the internet service? Before I can consider a potential move, even if it’s just for a few weeks\months, I need to have good service for work. I don’t need fiber connection but good stable speeds for web traffic and video conf calls. Your videos rock! Keep up the great work! Visit Matanzas, Bani on your way to Salinas one day.
Love the content, keep it up. If looking for pre-construction realtor in Las Terrenas, let me know. Btw, the villa in 16:23 must be close to 1Mil, change depending the lot/construction size and community located
Another delightful video 😄 I found LT 10 years ago. To be honest at first I didn't want to tell anyone about it...lol . It was heaven on earth for me and I didn't want to have it become like punta cana. I am happy for the growth and the income it provides to the people but keep the big resorts away please. My guess on the villa would be 850+. Question for Q&A, do you believe rentals have jacked price or lower prices because of covid? Do all of the rental places have a safe, or security of some sort? How do you secure credit cards/ cash/ passport, etc.
They have stopped flights from Scotland too. None from U.K. to Puerto Plata. Only Punta Cana. Tried that once and still prefer the North Coast. Holidayed in DR since 1993.
Good morning. First want to say I love your videos. My wife and I are living in Cabarete but are planning a trip to Las Terranus. We would like to know where you rented your ATV? Thanks in advance.
I just found your site and joined the paradise crowd. I've been thinking of leaving the US or most likely obtaining a 2nd residency/citizenship for the past few years. Look forward to learning about your experiences in the D.R.
This is so nice to see. I am thinking about investing in the DR but I was more leaning towards downtown Santo Domingo or Piantini( where I was born) But I now live in Florida and I am in my 40’s and thinking about my retirement and would like it to live there. But I think I might leaning towards Las terrenas. Santo Domingo is soooo expensive right now. Wow! The amount of expats is insane and the prices have risen to another level! Hopefully Las terrenas stays like this for a while.
Hi guys another great video. Trevor very smooth drone shooting. Excellent. Samana is a very special peninsula with amazing history from pre-colonization, amazing cave paintings, dating 5,000 years, exquisite marble quarry, Napoleon wanted to convert Samana into the port capital of the French America's empire. The blueprints are in the library of the US Congress. I worry that over development, especially without urban planning would ruin the magic of this very special corner of the world, even the giants of the north Atlantic who call it home, returning every each to birth and mate. The humpback whales.
Love the video! My family and I have rented a house in Las Terrenas for the first week of January. We are so excited! We would like to rent some ATVs for the week. Suggestions on where to look? Where was this ATV rented from? Do they let 18 year olds drive them?
Those drinks looked delicious and courtyard WOW! So happy to see the epic drone shots are back! The ATV looks like so much fun! Fabulous video guys you’ve really educated us all on how stunning and how much the DR has to offer!!! ~Cara 😊
Amazing video! I've been there with my husband couple of times and is our favorite place in the world. I feel in peace here. We actually bought a condo there very close to Mosquitos Hotel. I am also selling Real Estate in that area now. Already discovered great and high quality builders and communities around Las Terrenas.
The excess of spa and residential ends up harming the locals, since free public access to the beaches has been reduced and in some cases eliminated, due to the fact that the spas and private projects restrict public access to the beaches.
It's both a good thing and a bad thing depending on how you look at it. On one side it's bad for Dominicans because they are losing free access to their own beaches. But on the other hand, privatizing the beaches can be a plus for the environment. Private beaches tend to be much cleaner and better maintained. Unfortunately many Dominicans are careless and lack education, they litter trash on public beaches which has dire consequences for the ocean and the environment. Some public beaches throughout the country look a hot mess and are filthy.
Hey guys, love your videos, I’m 16 years old and have been planning to move to Dominican when I’m 18 for a year now, any advice for me? Is there any way I can move to Dominican before I’m 18 or start getting my citizenship now? Thank you if you respond, much love from Newfoundland ❤️
Babe, just go and try it out. You’re young without many responsibilities so now is the time to do these things. If you don’t like it you can always just return back home to the United States. Few things in life are actually permanent, remember that.
Don’t be that naive American that thinks life is like the videos. I’ve lived there and been there several times after. As a young lady who may not speak the language, people will will see you as an easy mark. This may be the Caribbean, but it’s not a 1st world country. If you go, don’t go alone. Go visit first, do your homework. Don’t believe in that you only live once BS. Be smart, be careful, plan, plan, plan, and then decide.
Trust me I did research, I know it’s not all fun and games when you move there but personally I feel the environment and culture is amazing and I would like to move there go experience it fully!
Las Terrenas has been an up and coming place for several years now with lots of cheap real estate offerings along the way. The bottom line for me though is that the DR does not hold a candle to other more diverse and interesting countries like Mexico, Panama and Columbia. I would get bored in LT and the DR pretty quickly.
I guess I am thinking like your Mothers too because the first thing I said (out loud lol) when I saw you on the ATV is ‘where are your helmets’ Also Anna the Color of your shirt matches the colour of some of the water there…oh those beaches
What a “bad luck” you guys have. I see did you get to see both playa Bonita lagoons (on each extreme), specially the one after punta bonita. Unfortunately, the sea was extremely rough and your viewers didn’t get to appreciate the “lagooness” type of water. You have to go back on a calm day and film again (also, I don’t know if you got about 150 mts further is my favorite spot of Las Terrenas....(A suggestion for your next trip: Playa Esmeralda, across Samana bay, where tourist take a yatch and helicopter trip from Punta Cana just to visit that “still natural” beautiful beach before they build 4 big resorts this coming year). Good luck and thanks for promoting my beautiful country👍🙏🇩🇴😊

Stay well and safe out there.
Also maybe on your next video you can talk about how is the safety condition there please.
Exciting! When will you’re place be finished? - Anna
Las time I was there, was 6 years ago and, from your videos, there’s definitely a real state boom👍 I hope one day to retire there🙏
Thanks for watching Edwin. This is the perfect place to retire that's for sure - Anna
We are booked for Las Terrenas as well as Punta Cana, Bahyibe, and more. You will reach 100k very soon. Quality channel and great characters the both of you. Subscribed from my other channel Tony & Laura
Wow!! Trevor and Anna , what gorgeous place. Oh my, I'd love to go there. No wonder people are moving there, it's unbelievable.
Paradise right Arlene? It's hard to believe places like this exist 🤗 - Anna
Hey guys thanks for the videos you post every week, very informative and entertaining at the same time. 👍❤️
We appreciate you watching Jose. We're glad you like our videos 😀 - Trevor

We love your country too. We never want to leave 🥰 - Anna
Getting around on ATV is literally the coolest thing.
It's the best! Easily one of our favourite things about LT 🤗 - Anna
Hi guys. Direct Toronto to Samana via air transat and WJ seasonally. I’ll be trying it in Nov/Dec!
Hope you can make it! - Anna
I've been watching u guys for months now, I've finally hit that subscribe button (98.6k)! We've been to Punta Cana a few times, always a hotel, next year it's time to rent a place to escape the Canadian winter thanks to your delightful insight!
Thanks for hitting that subscribe button 🤗 Good plan with coming down here for winter as well - Anna
We were there during last week in December. We are thinking of buying a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment there. We live in Miami, but loved Las Terrenas.
Great video, I thinking a lot of about moving there for few month when summer ends in my country.
It would be such a great place to live 😀 - Trevor
Thanks for proving pricing, I'm traveling again to Dominican republic and this is in my location to see.
Thanks for the question! We can answer that in the video. Cheers! - Trevor
Also ask about the rolling blackouts and the heat.
Another amazing video! Thank you so much - I’m delighted 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Love the content, keep it up. If looking for pre-construction realtor in Las Terrenas, let me know. Btw, the villa in 16:23 must be close to 1Mil, change depending the lot/construction size and community located
As a fellow creator, love this content :) I'm even curious about this area for a month to escape the NYC winter some day.
It's the perfect place to escape a month of winter. LT is a such a gem 😀 Always dig your NYC vids btw Jon. So so good 🤙 - Trevor
Thanks for those questions Kelly 👍 We can so see why you wouldn't tell folks about LT. It's a great spot - Trevor
The courtyard looks interesting and that sangria looked amazing, the beaches don't look bad either lol!
I have flown there direct from Halifax. Don't know why they stopped that route. My favourite area of DR
I think it stopped because of Covid. I remember those flights and hope they come back 😀 - Trevor
@@geogmz8277 Can confirm... people always assume we're from TO or MON haha
They have stopped flights from Scotland too. None from U.K. to Puerto Plata. Only Punta Cana. Tried that once and still prefer the North Coast. Holidayed in DR since 1993.
I prefer Cabarete honestly. More to do, cheaper, closer to airports.
Wao, you two are amazing! I am here in NY looking forward to be in Las Terrenas
Good morning. First want to say I love your videos. My wife and I are living in Cabarete but are planning a trip to Las Terranus. We would like to know where you rented your ATV? Thanks in advance.
Hi Tammy... we'll back in Cabarete again soon. Can't wait! 🤗 We rented the ATV from Renegado Rent a Car - Anna
Definitely thinking about a trip there in November 🤗
I just found your site and joined the paradise crowd. I've been thinking of leaving the US or most likely obtaining a 2nd residency/citizenship for the past few years. Look forward to learning about your experiences in the D.R.
This is so nice to see. I am thinking about investing in the DR but I was more leaning towards downtown Santo Domingo or
Piantini( where I was born) But I now live in Florida and I am in my 40’s and thinking about my retirement and would like it to live there.
So far so good with the new drone. We’re so happy we got to see the humpbacks as well 🤗 - Anna
Great video guys, now I'm really sure that Las Terrenas is in my top places to visit and to live. Seems like a digital nomad's paradise.
Thanks... we did have some internet issues there though FYI. Cabarete had more reliable internet for working - Trevor
Good to know about VPN’s! Thanks so much for the information!!
🤗
Love the video! My family and I have rented a house in Las Terrenas for the first week of January. We are so excited! We would like to rent some ATVs for the week. Suggestions on where to look? Where was this ATV rented from? Do they let 18 year olds drive them?
Another great video info I need thx
I first visited LT in 2009 and I wanted to live there then
Loving the Las Terrenas videos!! Dying that we can’t meet up lol 😫😅
Those drinks looked delicious and courtyard WOW! So happy to see the epic drone shots are back! The ATV looks like so much fun! Fabulous video guys you’ve really educated us all on how stunning and how much the DR has to offer!!! ~Cara 😊
Yay drone shots are back! woohoo... We're so diggin' the ATV - Trevor
Hey Anna and Trevor! My husband and I are now in Las Terrenas too, we hope to run into you both at some point 😄
I'm sure you'll see us around the town 😀 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers yeaaa we really hope so! Especially my husband, he’s been a big fan 😊❤️ and thanks for making all these great videos!
You guys really should visit Bahia de Las Aguilas, it is the most beautiful beach in the entire country and one of the most beautiful in the world.
Amazing video! I've been there with my husband couple of times and is our favorite place in the world. I feel in peace here. We actually bought a condo there very close to Mosquitos Hotel. I am also selling Real Estate in that area now. Already discovered great and high quality builders and communities around Las Terrenas.
Rooting for your 100K!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍👍
So close! 😬
Wow it looks amazing. Do you guys ever enjoy your vacation or is the camera always rolling for views? Curios
Stunning!
🥰
Love Samana!
Not tired at all of you talking about reaching 100k subscribers!!!! Fingers crossed!,🤞🤞🤞
Thanks Janice! We’re so close - Anna
Great job!! Guys!! 👏👏👏
🤗
Please make a video about Sosúa night life.
Q&A. Monthly rent range in Samana? House and apartment. 1 brm, studio to 3/4 brm house. ty 4 vid
Guys you should do a Laguna tour. Laguna Dudu and Laguna Grigi in the same day ^^. That would be cool 👍👍👍^~^
Also in the middle of the two is Playa Grande. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
We've heard of Playa Grande but we'll have to look up the other to spots. Thanks! - Trevor
Cabrera and Río San Juan are beautiful!
I hope Las Terrenas can stay delightful. A little growth can be great. Too much is. . .well, not delightful. It all looks wonderful right now.
Babe, you don’t need citizenship to live there. Just go and start living and work an online job.
Advice, stay home. Life there is not all a vacation. Do some real research before you go and not just these silly videos.
Salutations from Maryland
wow absolutely beautiful i want to be there ☹️
Come visit! 🤗
Which is more crowd Las Terrenas or Sosua? thanks
I do want to come through the camera! Drone footage is worth it though! Do they sell plots of land in the DR? 😆
haha we did see some land for sale here. Homestead in the DR? 😀 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers currently googling "how to ship a tractor to the DR" 🤣🤣🤣
Great video guys 👍👍 For the ATV what way does it work? Did you need to have a credit card for the deposit or can we leave a cash deposit with them
Hey Guys! Please Where do rent the ATV?
Is there a supermarket around? Conveniences like Uber eats? Any recommendations for airport transfers from Santiago airport?
I guess I am thinking like your Mothers too because the first thing I said (out loud lol) when I saw you on the ATV is ‘where are your helmets’
Also Anna the Color of your shirt matches the colour of some of the water there…oh those beaches
haha we're driving slow and steady I swear 🥰 - Anna
6:30 Wow this French Canadian girl is stunning!
Would love to live there And I'm very curious to find out how much that condo was on the beach
I have some high school friends who are not Dominican and they wanted to come to punta cana well, I just who them this post now they want las terrenas
How are people able to leave (Canada) and move to DR? Is there a process?
Goood video guys. The DR Tourist Department should be subsidizing your stay.
Please feel free to reach out to them 😉 - Trevor
We're heading to DR in Feb for 5 weeks. Wanted to get Surfshark vpn before we go, using your link. Doesn't appear that they have a server there. Did you use them when you were there?
You’d want a server for another country in the DR right? That’s what we normally do
