@@daiglemary89 Hi Christine! The flights depend on where you fly in to (which airport). We just track costs on Google Flights (and a few others). The prices change all the time. We haven't stayed at a resort here so we can't really recommend one. There is a Viva Wydham and Bahia Principe here that may be good options though 😀 - Trevor

Used to work in las Terrenas and now working in punta Cana I know really well both places... I must say I miss so much the bohemian life of las Terrenas, the feeling I was living on paradise I don't have it here in PC. Punta Cana in other hand have a very good night life but it's doesn't fell like Dominican life wich it is okay to me.

Hello guys, hope you are doing well, my first trip to Las Terrenas happend when I was 9 years old, I’m 62 now, I travel to DR every year and every year I go to Las Terrenas, my favorite spot in DR, to me, much better than Punta Cana by a lot. Back in time on my first trip over there, there were not town, just a few houses that belong to the native fishermen, that place was complete virgin, beautiful, extremely peaceful, we used to sleep on the beach with the starts and the moon on top of us, and the sound of the ocean right next to us, good memories, it was great, since then it had change a lot but I still love that place. Every year my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary there and this year is not the exception. Last year we stay in a non all inclusive hotel, this year we will try an all inclusive. As a Dominican born and raised, I prefer Las Terrenas to Punta Cana. But it wouldn't be fair to compare them or to choose which one is better. They are totally different places. Beaches are different, the landscape is different. Even the rainfall average is different. I believe that it depends on what you're looking for and what kind of hotel you are looking to stay in.
The food in Las Terrenas just looks amazing. So many options between European cuisine, local Caribbean cuisine, and international restaurants. It seems like a foodie’s paradise.. And those shades of blue, green & turquoise from the landscape is an added bonus! 🤩

Hi guys, beautiful video loved the quality, cinematography, fantastic job. Well done. The Bavaro area was like that, lush, empty beaches and difficult to access with various fishing villages. Bavaro/Punta Cana/Cap Cana is becoming destination of entertainment with clubs, concerts, film festivals, theme parks, restaurants, planned communities surrounded with great beaches. World class marina. My concern is that Samana is the quintessential beachcomber destination with a ting of chic and diverse flavors, could be over build with all-inclusive and mega hotels. Thank you.

punta cana if you want to stay inside the hotel area and be in a loud environment, las terrenas if you want to relax on a quiet beach and explore places outside of the hotel(beaches other than the one that is closest to your hotel and local restaurants).
Las Terrenas is one of my favorite spots in the DR. But I have to respectfully disagree with the title of your video "Is Las Terrenas Really Better than Punta Cana?". You compared Las Terrenas to Bavaro, not Punta Cana. I own a home in the real Punta Cana. Punta Cana is actually a small area. All the resorts in Bavaro use the name Punta Cana because it's much better for marketing purposes. Punta Cana specifically started out as a company name, a brand created in the early 1970s by Frank Rainieri, for a piece of land originally called Punta Borrachón (Drunkard’s Point). That area today is called the Punta Cana Resort & Club which also includes the Punta Cana Airport and Punta Cana Village. Here is a brief history of Punta Cana: Back in 1969 a group of American investors, headed by Ted Kheel, bought 30 square miles of undeveloped land stretching along five miles of the east coast of the Dominican Republic in the province of La Altagracia. The land was mostly impenetrable jungle and bush with no access roads and only a handful of small fishing villages dotted along the coast. But the beaches were among the most beautiful on the island with their white sand, coconut palms, crystal-clear waters and protective coral reefs. A few years later, Dominican entrepreneur Frank R. Rainieri joined them with his vision to create a resort community (Punta Cana Resort & Club) that respects the natural habitat while providing visitors with a world-class vacation experience. At the time the area was called Punta Borrachón (Drunkard’s Point), Frank Rainieri wisely decided to rename it Punta Cana, after the fan-shaped Cana palm leaf that flourishes in the area. Bavaro is Not Punta Cana. You guys put great videos together. I really enjoy watching them. Hope you don't mind my input.
Fui a las Terrenas y punta cana me gustó punta cana las Terrenas es muy alta y peligrosas la romana es bella también. El agua de las Terrenas y arena es muy bella suave rica.
Hey great video. I have a couple of questions. I know that " pueblo de los pescadores" burned down last year, but I wanted to know if you had any updates regarding if they are rebuilding it or what's the status? Also I wanted to know about the places you are staying at? Do you know if they have monthly / weekly rates, or is everything based off of a daily rate?
Hey guys!! Last week i was in las terrenas with my girlfriend. Before we got there i told my girlfriend that you guys were gonna be there and that we were probably gonna run into you guys. Well, we were riding our atv around town and when i looked to my left you guys were right beside us on your atv. I couldn't help to yell really loud "heyyy delightful Travelers". We couldn't belive it . Maybe you guys remember a crazy guy on a atv yelling that at you. It was so funny 😂
@@DelightfulTravellers im Dominican and my girlfriend is from the US. We live in Florida but travel to the Dominican Republic 3 or 4 times a year. We have been to a lot of places in the island but Las Terrenas is by far our favorite. We love it there!!
Punta Cana has the benefits of having the airport within a 10 minutes drive but after that I feel like it's a tourist trap. The haggling and the sellers are a bit annoying to me. But you have so many more choices in hotels. Terrena has an international airport but getting there is very limited even for me who lives in the NYC metro area. But the journey is worth it if you're looking for a more secluded vacation spot that offers more pristine beaches and local business activities. My first trip to Samaná I landed in Santo Domingo and rented a car and took the drive.
I gonna go and pray that Samana stays as quiet as possible and not turn into Bavaro where beaches are crowded. It is so nice in Las Terrenas that I think is for people to relax, have a drink on the beach, do sports, local food is great combined with international cuisine and you can always say "cojiendolo suave"
Although real estate investment is growing specifically in las terrenas, i believe that Samaná will continue with these virgin paradises for a longer time, since the government and entrepeneurs chose new destinations to turn into what Punta Cana is today, which are Cabo Rojo Pedernales and miches el seibo, apart from the fact that the expansion in puntacana and la romana continues, and puerto plata will recover as the tourist destination that it was in its beginnings, this is a summary of what is happening and what is to come in dominican tourism

Wow since 10k! That's amazing... so appreciate that 🤗 We don't have any immediate plans to leave though sorry. A lot of folks are into the DR vlogs and honestly we love it here - Anna
You should contribute and send them some money so that they’re able to do that and bring you more footage of other countries ☺️😎
@@elizabethcarrasco4605 I'm confident they're more than capable to travel elsewhere, financially speaking.
I'm decrying a shift from traveling to vacationing in the same place.
They're allowed to do what they want and I'm allowed to voice my feedback.
@@MTLmunchies I’m still waiting on them to visit other nice places in DR - so I don’t want them to live just yet ☺️
Have you been to Bayahibe yet? My fav spot
No we haven’t 😀 someday! - Anna
Oh I miss it already!!! I am ready to go back!!!
Come on back down Tina! 😀- Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers actually trying to talk him into that lol!!
Great video as always! I finally made it to LT this week and have been everywhere you’ve recommended the last few months. So thanks to you, I’ve fallen in love with LT! ❤️ I’ll be leaving this week after putting in an offer for a condo in Punta Popy!! I also looked at a condo where you are staying and it is very very nice! I hope maybe I run into you guys before I leave for Cabarete on Tuesday 😎 Thanks Trevor and Anna!
We so like hearing that you're taking our recommendations up 😀 and wow you put in an offer! Hopefully it all works out. We're back in Cabarete Wednesday btw - Trevor
I will see you there! 🤘🏼
@matty1098 who did you use for representation for condo purchase?
Guys, good vids.
Go to Playa Grande in Rio San Juan close to the Hotel Amanera (very expensive 😞). I think is one of the best in the entire island.
You guys need to stay the rest of the year in the beautiful DR
Just added Las Terrenas to my vacation wish list
🤙
Which part of the town did you film this? I spent all of my time in Ballenas. Interested in other areas as well
Thank you🌴
🤙
Been going back and forth on where to stay and then got to the part where you are just driving around on the ATV! SOLD! Can you tell me who you rented from?
Spain Wonderful 😊
Oh by the way forgot to mention, you guys are awesome and wish you nothing but the best in DR. Oh and when are you guys heading to Santo Domingo?
We’ve already been to Santo Domingo. There’s videos on the channel 😀 - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers well I guess I'm gonna have to catch up.
Thank you for your videos ! :-) Las terrenas is safe the night ?
100% safe at night yes! - Anna
Hi guys, love this video and drone shots, we're from New Brunswick Canada and are looking to stay in Las Terrenas for 2/3 months next winter. Interested in the name and or weblink to the condo you're staying at in this video if you could provide it. Enjoy your stay, looking forward for more amazing videos.
That link will be in the next video when we do a full tour! - Anna
@@DelightfulTravellers Awesome! Thank you for your reply. Have a great day! 😊
What’s the name of the specific beach at the beginning of the video? Love your videos!!
It doesn’t really have a name… this whole area has beaches like this. It’s just a random section - Anna
Thats a beautiful beach. Can u plz tell me the name of this beach thank you =)
Whats the name of the beach? The first one where the video stated. Thank you.
Sorry if I missed it guys, but what was the name of the restaurant on the beach that look like a ship? That place looks amazing I can't wait to go.
Porto Mosquito Bar 👍 - Trevor
punta cana if you want to stay inside the hotel area and be in a loud environment, las terrenas if you want to relax on a quiet beach and explore places outside of the hotel(beaches other than the one that is closest to your hotel and local restaurants).
Oh Mexican food!!! love it....beautiful beach there wow!!...Viv
Our fav! hehe
How much does that atv rental go for? Do you get a solid deal for long term rental?
Long term about $35-40 per day for the largest ATV like we have - Anna
Fui a las Terrenas y punta cana me gustó punta cana las Terrenas es muy alta y peligrosas la romana es bella también.
El agua de las Terrenas y arena es muy bella suave rica.
Hey great video. I have a couple of questions. I know that " pueblo de los pescadores" burned down last year, but I wanted to know if you had any updates regarding if they are rebuilding it or what's the status? Also I wanted to know about the places you are staying at? Do you know if they have monthly / weekly rates, or is everything based off of a daily rate?
Not sure about that building. The condo is called ‘the Nicole’… pretty sure they have daily rates too 👍 - Trevor
Love from Bangladesh 🖤🇧🇩🇧🇩
Samaná ,las terrenas all natural 100% thats the diferencia, thanks guys AND welcome to DR
It was so funny 😂
haha we so remember that JC! We didn't think you were crazy at all 😜 How did you like LT btw? - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers im Dominican and my girlfriend is from the US. We live in Florida but travel to the Dominican Republic 3 or 4 times a year. We have been to a lot of places in the island but Las Terrenas is by far our favorite. We love it there!!
What beach did you visit on his video? We actually did a short visit to Las Terrenas because we saw your videos. Thanks. Now we are back in Cabarete.
haha the beach doesn't really have a name! It's just past Porto Restaurant though. We're back in Cabarete later this week! Can't wait - Trevor
@@DelightfulTravellers always welcome to drop in to our condo. Let us know.
Esdras Rivas dominicano Hola 🇩🇴 AZ ri sona 🌴🌴🌴🌴 Dominican beautiful
Punta Cana has the benefits of having the airport within a 10 minutes drive but after that I feel like it's a tourist trap. The haggling and the sellers are a bit annoying to me. But you have so many more choices in hotels.
Terrena has an international airport but getting there is very limited even for me who lives in the NYC metro area. But the journey is worth it if you're looking for a more secluded vacation spot that offers more pristine beaches and local business activities.
My first trip to Samaná I landed in Santo Domingo and rented a car and took the drive.
👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🌴🏝beautiful.
🤗
What beach in bavaro? You only mention bavaro ? Bavaro is big big súper big what’s the beach ? Gives us name ?
Hey guys im in your town HALIFAX went to truro yesterday amazing days next to my fiancé. Hope yoy guys are enjoying
Nice! Enjoy our city Omar 😀 - Trevor
the best beaches are on the south coast in pedernales, near haiti...
Thanks for watching! - Anna
This might sound like a silly question, but are those dark patches in the water coral or sea grass?
Pretty sure it's sea grass 😀
