I think you and I need go on a trip to a Book Town or two. Oh yes. :) So glad that you enjoyed The Bookshop Book! This review made me do a happy dance. xx
I'd recommend the "El Ateneo Grand Splendid" in Buenos Aires, Argentina because it used to be one of those old theatres with balconies and high ceilings. It's amazing. There are shelves in the balonies and a coffee shop at the back.
I actually visited one of the shops in the book. I'm Dutch myself, and one mentioned in the Netherlands is Selexyz Domincanen, which is a book shop built in a big old church :D It's magical for sure!
There's a town in victoria (Australia) that has a book fair weekend. It's called clunes, and it's pretty much just a weekend to sell books. It's pretty amazing, as there is about 30 or so stores (at least)
This sounds so amazing and interesting!! A bookshop as a character (or more than one in this case apparently), and then the bookish facts & quotes- definitely wanna read it!
This sounds like a fun book! But I feel like it might be something hard to sell because it's something that can only really be sold for people who are hard-core readers
I don`t own this book (YET) but I did live near a really awesome bookshop inside a church (Maastricht) that was my safe-haven to go to whenever something was wrong. Though now I`ve moved back to my parents`, I don`t have that awesome shop anymore but I do live about 5 minutes cycling away from a booktown. It`s...okay? It`s actually really struggling, lots of really cool shops have gone bankrupt and disappeared (RIP Pendragon that was definitely a magical store and no one is telling me otherwise). There are still a couple of them left though, including one English bookshop that`s my favourite. There are also bookcases outside all year round where you can just pick a book and drop like a euro or something in a letterbox, and there`s a medieval restaurant and they have book markets several times a year. It`s surprisingly difficult to find a nice book in this town though, and the shops have very irregular opening hours and the town can be hard to reach as there isn`t really any public transport and like 80% of the books there are old, smelly, boring, and often in German. Still, I`ve found some really old and awesome books there.
I agree with you. I go to school in Maastricht and the bookshop inside of the church is amazing! Not alot of those around, unfortunately :(. Though, I thought there's one inside the dom in Köln or Aachen... Not 100% sure though.
I should my friend who loved Harry Potter the quote from the Weird things costumer say in book shops where the girl refused to read the first book in Harry Potter and all that jazz. I live in America so the first book is called The sorcerers stone not the philosophers stone (which since the book shops where in England was the case) and instead of reading the whole page of the quote she told me "Wow this girl is stupid it's called The sorcerers Stone not the philosophers Stone duh!" And I almost died of laughter and then when I tried to explain it to her she refused to listen. Muggles be crazy XD
I didn't resist: www.360portugal.com/Distritos.QTVR/Porto.VR/vilas.cidades/Porto/a5_lello.html Thats Bookshop Lello, in Porto, I've been there some years ago, and it is paradise... You lose your self in there, it smells wonderful and the place is gorgeous!! You really must visit it! :D

OK choose. You can live in the very best Book Town on Earth OR you can go to Hogwarts. Which? Why?
