Yes I have read it as well. I write poetry. I've used some of the rhetorical devices before, knowing that they seemed witty, but I didn't know they had names and that they were in fact so powerful.
A friend of mine recommended the etymologicon to me and I just bought it and this book a couple of days ago. Even more excited to get my hands on them now!
Sounds like a really interesting book:) Also great to see some more book reviews because you're so good at describing books and making me want to read them. Lovely video! :)
thank you so much for this review! i was planning to buy this book as I am planning to improve on my writing skills. so glad to have found your channel! subscribed :D
Hi!! I know you might not read this, but I've just recently started watching your videos, and I really, really like them :) I spent quite some time finding the perfect book-themed youtube channel to watch all the videos from, and you are by far my favourite! I love your hair!!! Ahh.. I want to dye mine like that one day! And your taste in books is the best I've come across so far on youtube!! :D :D I subscribed and am going to watch all your videos, Your half-Irish, half-Icelandic number 1 fan, Melkorka
Yay! I saw that you were reading this on Goodreads and I knew a fantastic review was coming, and here it is. :D I also reviewed this book on my channel this week, but I have a long way to go until my reviews become as good as yours. :P It pleases me that you enjoyed it as much as I did, though! :)
That's because I actually wrote a script for this one and I don't usually do so, but I had to get all my thoughts and ideas down so I didn't miss anything.
Nicolette Marquette Little Book Owl Not sure what you're talking about Nicolette! I didn't even feel it was scripted until you pointed it out. I thought this was a great, well thought out review and not lacking in any personality at all! Well done, Cat! :)
I just adore Mark Forsyth's writing and wit. He's a gem, and he'd be a fab teacher/tutor
I just ordered this. I did not realize this was published quite so long ago -- not that it is old.

Sounds like a book I should get. I'm always looking for books and tips to hone my own writing skills too. Thanks for the recommendation.
Really want to get round to reading this and his other books! I wasn't sure I'd enjoy this one at first, but you've convinced me!

Great book. I agree with basically all that you said and hope that this will find it's way to more poets/writers.

Your hair looks like a dessert.
This video seemed extremely scripted and rehearsed. It didn't seem like any of your other reviews and lacked your personality.
That's because I actually wrote a script for this one and I don't usually do so, but I had to get all my thoughts and ideas down so I didn't miss anything.

I didn't notice any scripty-ness, but this is also the first video I've watched on this channel.
