Why you spend 4.5 million in Burriram.?You can buy beautiful house near the beach for a lot less. I lived in Issan for many years There is nothing to do but eat and get hot..Better build holiday home in Issan and live by the sea.Good luck Jay you will need it
Hi guys Enjoyed the video 👍, I live not too far from you in a village with a nearby town around 1.5km the town is chokchai, which you’ve possibly passed through on your travels , I retired early aged59 and built a house in the village next door to my partners mum , been living here for almost 2 years now and I’m very happy here , although right now would love a few days of rain and some cooler weather 🤣 , I don’t drink and don’t crave western food so I manage really well in isaan, my philosophy is if we split up ( been together 11 years now) then I’d walk away from the house and leave her everything and I’d be more than ok with that , she’s given me a great life and fuzzies around me like my mother did , she works full time as a government teacher so I have time to myself each day , we are not constantly in each other’s faces , I go out each day and find my lunch somewhere different or go to my favourites and the ladies there enjoy my coming back to their restaurants, the thing is some people are not ready to retire to a quiet life , me I love it , I’m sure you trust your wife and her family and by not meeting in a bar situation and falling in lust after one day you’ve given yourself the best chance of a happy relationship, good on you and your home looks great , long may you enjoy your lifestyle, Regards Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Hello, great video again. Took your advice and started looking at houses in Udon Thani and the fiance is on board. Won't be able to do anything anytime soon, but it's good to see what opportunities are there beforehand. Udon Thani seems to have a lot more going on (not as bored after short term), and the "investment" would be a lot more protected with the quick access to the airport nearby. Will have to try your approach and spend some time with the future in laws to simulate the long term living (probably 2-3 months would be enough). Thanks for all the help and what you've been doing. It's been a great help for me and a bunch others I am sure.
Jay, another good video with an honest, clear explanation and not least your example! Be happy every day with Ploy and her family, that's what it's all about and the only "negative" is that I wouldn't be able to move to Thailand full time, although it has been my heart's desire for 25 years: the appropriate health insurance since my last operation (debrifilator implant) but that doesn't stop me from going 1/2 and staying in Europe during the too hot and rainy period, staying positive about it after my retirement in 2026 I will make the decision, by the way, my wife's family where I prefer to stay (just like with you) has some land and a pond where I am far from the hustle and bustle and feel at home, I don't really like mass tourism and just a few km from the larger city where everything is provided, bank(s) and mall(s) and Hospitals are also listed as private, keep up the nice video series, and I'm very happy that you have reopened them and not just the Thai ones from Ploy ;-)
Hello, another Finn here. I like to watch your videos, great work! In this video though, you say about Finland "high taxes but no real benefits". In my case i have to live in Finland just because of those benefits. I have a girlfriend in Thailand, but can't afford to move there. I'm retired and have several medical conditions and have to take a lot of medicines. I get the health service i need and medication is cheap. If i move to Thailand, i need to take a health insurance and i can't even get a good one because of pre-existing medical conditions. Plus, i have to pay more for medication in Thailand and some of my medication is very high priced in Thailand. So, in my case benefits make the difference. I would love to live in Thailand, but... Anyway, keep on making videos, i like to watch them and miss Thailand ;)
I met my wife on Thai friendly she was a single mom of a 26 year old daughter owned her own home and was totally indipendant maybe not rich but owned everything outright We talked online for 10 months before we met I brought her to Australia in 2018 She has a better life here she is a permanent resident now it took 5 years My wife Jana has been the best thing to happen to me She is a Issan woman who can be tough but always Support me There are many Thai women out there who are great partners just make sure they are regular thai people
Enjoy the video, living in Roi Et with my Thai wife who is a teacher, she already had her own house and land in and around Roi Et,so I feel lucky in that regard, any way you said you are originally from Finland, when I was living back in England, it’s use to be said that your country was one of the best countries to live in the world, with a good standard of living and with the must happiest people in the world, I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
Thanks. Sounds like you are a lucky man or maybe a smart man 😂Everyone makes choices fits their life. To be honest, I cannot agree that Finnish people are anymore happiest in the world based on my living experience in my lovely home country. It may be used to be like that, but the world is changing. That is why many wealthy or semi-wealthy Finnish people (mostly pensioners) move to Spain, Portugal, or Asian countries to escape cold weather and high living costs. You are right grass is greener in Thailand although foreigners have many challenges.
I could of lived at my wife’s farm in Korat. But her house is in a small village and very remote. I agree with you living remote is not easy, Your both a nice couple best wishes. Good story.
Good day from one UA-camr to another , it’s so good to see a happy loving couple who understand each other and appreciate each other. Good luck in your future
i was talking to a beautiful and successful young lady out in Kalasin who had her own home. It only took one weekend visit for me to turn to her and tell her that there is no way i could ever move out there. There's nothing to do. There are small towns and then you have the sticks. I can't ever live in the sticks.

Maybe we buy also a beach house in the future? 😂Thanks for watching
Not everybody wants to live on or by the beach. Also, everyone has their own lifestyles and things they enjoy. No need to hate
@@Rowestah & no need to exaggerate. Hate? A difference of opinion isn't hate.
I never said hate...everybody has their own opinion. I would not spend 4.5 million on a house in Issan.thats all I'm saying
Also...the title of the video is "I cannot live here".....why?

Thanks for sharing and nice to hear that you have a chance to come to Thailand even 1/2 of your time 👌🙏
Good advice, but the most important aspect in my view is to meet and choose the right partner in Thailand.
Very true!
