What I've learned over my long life is.When they've got you trapped they squeeze you.
100pct
What is the trap in this case?
Listen, it’s not 180 days and another 180 days. It doesn’t work like that.
The visa also explicitly says you need to have at least 500,000 thb in the bank.
Watch the FULL video where I explain how DTV works. After that comment 😂
Get a marriage visa, multiple entry. Less than 5000thb at your local immigration office. 90 day sign you can do online.easy.
A marriage visa has a lot of paperwork and you must park 400.000 baht into your Thai bank account. No thanks 🙏
@@PloyandJayinThailandthe marriage visa sounds way less work and stress than flying or driving out of the country every few weeks.
@@PaulRLight correct but as an example the new DTV visa has great value if you meet the criteria and want to do business online legally in Thailand. Border runs are not sustainable and not for long-term retirees
Not everyone is married to a Thai
Paper work lot but if done one time just keep copy for next time. Marriage visa easy. Like he said. Do it 8 years already. And after a while you know the immigration staff if talk friendly with them. If you do border run you will get in the future no visa. They not like if you bent the rules.foreigners who are mad. Just study how Thailand works. You should know nothing is permanent and everything can change. Even the announcement something sometimes the not implement it at all because the government change to other party. Just Enjoy Thailand and not think o much.
As I commented in your other video on DTV, the effective cost of 5 years on retirement visa (with multi entry and negative carry on the 800k) is about 179k over the 5-years plus admin hassle of annual extensions and 90 day reporting. Most retirees, at least the younger ones like you and me, would plan to travel Asia based out of Thailand and could easily do enough soft power activities to qualify for the DTV (we're not going to sit around all day during retirement). Or one can easily get a freelance or remote employment contract in another country (I assume the Thai visa agents will create an industry around this if the DTV sticks around). So every 180 days one needs to leave Thailand, lets assume 10 times over 5 years, which means 17k baht per "border bounce" holiday in a surrounding SE Asia country to breakeven with the effective cost of the retirement visa. So the DTV seems very easy obtain and maintain and sensible for many retirees. Perversely, switching from retirement visa to DTV could mean doing some cheap soft power activities but spending more tourist $ outside Thailand doing border runs instead of domestic Thai travel which one may otherwise have done. See little downside to the DTV.
Great insights. I agree that the DTV is mainly for younger “retirees” and digital nomads who have some kind of online business or who work remotely.
I like to be active and travel, so instead of rounding just in Thailand, with the DTV, it’s natural to leave the country once in six months.
Besides, it’s nice to have now legal option to do some online projects although you don't need to do it for money anymore.
Usefull information brother👍👍
🙏
I not know what is so complicated to fly to a neighboring country for a few days. I recommend just to stay more then a day, because there is lots to see. In any country around thailand.
Not complicated
We still get comments about how many entries you can make with the DTV visa during the five years. Recap: DTV is a five-year multiple-entry visa. You can come and go as you want without limitations. That is the whole idea of a MULTIentry visa.
Some of the bigger UA-camrs have interviewed the same Thailand Foreign Affairs “big boss” as I also mentioned in this video. He literally clarifies the 180-day entry rule as I’ve told many times:

All ex pats are never happy. How is it going Ari good to see you do your research that’s why I like your channel
Always someone complaining although Thailand go in the right direction. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@PloyandJayinThailand yes right direction to many plus points in Thailand I can’t wait to move
@@morayr6 welcome
800k in the bank doesn’t give you much interest and your taxed on it
Yes 👍
Not really sure why the DTV would be any better than a marriage visa, You only need 400k rather 500k in the bank and you don't have to leave if you don't want to. I am sure this will no doubt evolve over the next few weeks.
That 500k can be in your abroad account or someone can even sponsor you if needed. Those visas have different purposes. If you have an online business or work remotely for a foreign company, you cannot do it with a marriage visa, but you can work legally with a DTV as long as you don't work for a Thai company or have Thai customers (if you are a web designer). DTV is mainly for digital nomads, remote workers, and freelancers. It’s a no-brainer with a 5-year-MULTI-entry visa (you must do every year your paperwork with a marriage visa).
@@PloyandJayinThailand I do think it is a game changer for most people. Regards the money in the bank. I see that as Oliver's money anyways, so it sat here or abroad is not relevant. Overall. I do see it as a positive for sure and will help a lot of people.

Sour Grapes ( I am happy with my marriage extensions)
Congrats 🙏
Overtourism in Spain as well
Really?
@@PloyandJayinThailand I saw it pattaya news
It's worthless, you get nothing out of it, just a glorified tourist visa. Start a business, that at least gets you the chance to apply for PR or citizenship
Thanks for your insight 🙏
I paid 1 mil for a 20 year elite before the changes. Everyone said I was crazy. Who's laughing now. No immigration for 20 years. What a deal
