i made this today and it having been my first attempt at butter chicken ever, it turned out absolutely amazing. i did not have cashews or methi, instead i skipped the cashews and added fresh coriander and still tasted fab! love it! ❤
The most important thing to me about this recipe is that right now, I'm 99.5% sure that I can actually do it and have it come out right thanks to your clear and easy description. The 0.5% hedging is because I'm not exactly sure where I'm going to find fenugreek or garam masala, so time to hunt down an Indian grocery store somewhere. :)
Best recipe ever! Thanks for this great recipe! It was my first time making tikka masala and I’m so happy with the results. Since I don’t use dairy only change in made was added coconut milk instead of the cream, added some chopped Serrano pepper after grilling the onions and didn’t have the Indian chili powder so I used half of what was asked using regular chili powder and also added some paprika, also didn’t have the fresh ginger so I added the ginger powder, and I wasn’t able to go buy the fenugreek, but plan to definitely add next time. Anyways with the changes since I was missing the ingredients it came out so good thanks to your simple to follow recipe and delicious flavor. I also used turkey tenderloins since I don’t eat chicken and tasted just like chicken. I replace turkey tenderloin which is turkey breast and comes as just as good for those who don’t each chicken. I also added some roasted cauliflower since I had less meat available for cooking to supplement and it was good with this. I basically used a bag of frozen cauliflower spritz it with olive oil and salt and pepper, oven in 450 for about 15-20 minutes depending on how soft you want it, use bottom rack to roast better. I added the cauliflower into the pot when I added the coconut milk/when it calls to add the cream. Thanks so much for this recipe, my family loved it!!!
@@PlatinItWithWendy it turned out good! for whatever reason I thought it would be spicy, it was not. I probably could have let it simmer for a while longer at the end. the flavor was good, just not as concentrated as I had hoped
I will try it wendy.. Im impressed with your presentations and your explanation.. Can't wait to try out your Christmas sweets starting next week.. Thku thku again
Thanks Hilda 🥰 I’m so happy that you are enjoying my recipes/videos and are going to try my Christmas sweet recipes. Please share the pics and tag Platin’It it With Wendy 🥰🎄
Thank you. I tried your recipe after being disappointed by the Tikka's I found locally. Your recipe and directions made it easy and it was incredible to eat.
Looks great, will try your recipe I have most of the ingredients. I think I’d some bullet chillis for some heat I know it’s not meant to be hot but it’s how I like it 😊
@@PlatinItWithWendy Hi Wendy, just tried and it was very, very good. Though made the half (500g chicken). This will be my „go-to“ Masala 🙂from now on. Thanks a lot! PS: Please double check the recipe. Because there are 1-2 Moments where you say „Table spoon“ instead of „tea spoon“. Otherwise keep up the great work
Good recipe Wonder if I can do it with left over duck or turkey roast esp after a festive occasion. I have found as ' things on sticks' for s beer party it's excellent
Sushi, that’s an excellent idea. You could definitely use leftovers duck or Turkey to prepare this dish. Then of course you will have to call it duck or Turkey Tikka Masala 🤣🤣 Enjoy!
@@PlatinItWithWendy thanks Wendy! I did make it the way your recipe was and it was a bit too spicy for us (no spice tolerance here!) next time I will reduce the chili. It was delicious though.
Hi Tanya just following my recipes step by step (watch the video while preparing the recipe) and I’m you will see how delicious the recipe turns out. Enjoy!
Love your video but have one question. Is there a way to minimize the use of salt? I have trouble with high blood pressure and still want to enjoy the masala.
I am from Sudan, I love Masala extra spicy. thank you very much for this amazing video. Though it is a little bit difficult recipe but I am going to try it with my wife. But your kitchen is looking great and the food is incredibly fantastic.
@PlatinItWithWendy thanks for the reply, I can only seem to find heinz tomato sauce for bolognese, is that the same thing? Or can I use chopped tinned tomatoes?
Chefs.... In case your tomato paste doesn't add quite enough sweetness to the disk, don't shy away from adding a teaspoon or more of sugar to balance out the flavors. You will be rewarded.
@@PlatinItWithWendy I am going to try your recipe, even went to an Indian store to get some of the spices you mentioned. Your recipe sounds like it will taste like the one dish i order at the one Indian restaurant I go to. Thank you.
@@PlatinItWithWendy I made your Chicken Tikka Masala today for my son and grandson. They loved it, they took some home with them. I'm glad I got the kind of chili powder you mentioned. We all agreed, it was a keeper, thank you!

@@PlatinItWithWendyhi.. can one substitute cooking cream with plain yoghurt for masala sauce?
You could if you wanted Mari, but the flavour would change but it will still be delicious 😋
Its the same way cheff used to make it in Auckland restaurants - Cuisine india and mumbai masala
Now you can make it home😂
You cook amazing would love to do al that u have done but it never gets right with me

Heinz.

Does anyone know how many this serves? I would need to make enough for four adults.
It should be good for 4 adults with ample amount for seconds
Chefs.... In case your tomato paste doesn't add quite enough sweetness to the disk, don't shy away from adding a teaspoon or more of sugar to balance out the flavors. You will be rewarded.
For sure sugar can always be added to balance the flavours
How do u make the tomato sauce
Joe you will find the full written recipe on my website platinitwithwendy.com/

Hi I wanted to know how is this mixer grinder Preethi and how long you r using it
It’s good and have used it for over a year
I have a packet of tikka masala powder is that just the same as using all the spices? Is the tikka masala powder just all these mixed?
You will have to read the ingredients on the packet to know that 😊
Is the tomato sauce passata?
It is tomato purée.
@@PlatinItWithWendy thanks Wendy,,,my granddaughter (14) wants to have a go, with me doing the cutting
What’s the name of that authentic Indian spice she added at the end. It look like dried time but I couldn’t hear what she was saying
Kasoori Methi.
