I also teared up when you both held hands and crossed the finish line! Huge respect for the two of you. Way to go Chris! It's unbelievable that you also recorded it while running! Thanks for that!
Mad respect! I have ran about 25 Half’s and I did one Full for my 40th birthday ten years ago (I can no longer run anymore due to Spinal Fusion and Severe Disc Degeneration) but the conditions were less than ideal for my one and only Full but I pushed through. You are in fabulous shape to be able to speak and run at the same time and awesome you had a running partner/boyfriend that can keep up with you. Very special ❤ Congrats to you both! Thanks for sharing
Awww i teared up there at the end! Well done Hannah! You can really see your determination to get to the finish! May i ask what training plan you followed? So sweet you and chris finished together
congrats on the PB! not to mention 4:15 while talking AND filming is insane, girl!!! way to crush it 💪💪💪 and good on Chris for finishing his first one! when you crossed the finish line together, that was so cute hahaha i've never run a marathon because i always thought i'd get terribly bored halfway through, but you made it look actually fun hahaha also doing it in ~scenic Japan~ probably helps. do they have more rural courses, though? because that would be pretty gorgeous (as long as they let you run along the shoreline or in the valleys, LOL)
Thanks Ash! 🥰 and yeah I feel like running a marathon through the mountains is probably wayyyy easier cuz you’ve got cool things to look at 😅 There’s a Mt Fuji Marathon is love to do but I’d be so worried that the weather would be cloudy and then the whole marathon would be boring 😂 Won’t know till I try though!
Hannah, I would recommend Matsumoto marathon if you are looking for another challenge this year. Completed it back in 2019. Less crowds and gorgeous scenery which I am sure the viewers will appreciate!
Perfect video to watch after parkrun this morning 😆 So cool to see soooooo many people and the atmosphere seemed awesome despite the weather, congrats on the PB!
Oh my goodness you guys are amazing! So much respect for you two pushing yourselves so hard and achieving a PB. Well done Hannah! We are so proud of you ❤
I’m new at running and been working to build my endurance to do 21kms. At the moment, I am already in struggle town by 10km haha. So huge respect for you both for doing all that while keeping those smiles on. Amazing. Hope I get to do the marathons in Japan, looks so much fun
great job!! seemed so cold and weather was not perfect BUT you looked having so much fun! Marathon is hard to participate but this video changed the myth. you made me to think trying marathon someday🥰
Great job! Congratulations and thank you for sharing it so well with us. I always like running in this kind of weather as long as you don't get too wet (chafing). Once you get loose, it just keeps you from getting the ups and downs of sun/heat.
Ahhh I'm running my first marathon in copenhagen the 5th of may! With my love for Japan, running in Osaka or Tokyo would be a dream come true. You smashed it!!! Congrats on the pb
Love it, such amazing high energy positivity and lovely smiling people, always enjoy your videos, lots of love 😊 waiting happily for your next video 🎉 did a great job both running and video, both of you 😊
I have asthma too and seeing you use your inhalers on screen in a video about running brought tears to my eyes!! I was pulled out of PE class in primary school because of my asthma and running felt impossible until a few months ago! It sucks that you deal with asthma too but you just made an internet stranger feel less alone!
the way i started tearing up when you guys went over the finish line omg lol did NOT expect that :') CONGRATS YOU TWO!!!! looked incredible even with the weather!
hey, I was here too! it was a cold damp wet wild run, probably the worst weather day in the days before and after the run, but it felt so good. Congrats on the finish!
I really enjoyed this video! It's been a couple of years since my last (half) marathon and you got me excited to look into what my next could be. One foot in front of the other!
Congrats to your PB, Hannah! You should try out the Shonan Marathon in December, nice scenery with Mt. Fujii on one side and Zushi beach on the other, also flat and most of the time best weather for a marathon (PB last year). Also think about a heart rate belt, much more accurate than the watch measurement.
Congrats! The weather on that day was tough! My feet were completely wet, while my body was freezing at the bag drop area before I even started running. Ladies were lucky to be able to change indoors. I was in corral B, and even so it was very congested during the first 5K. It also started pouring again around the mid point. All in all, a very difficult race, but I am glad we made it safely. 😊
Congratulations on making it through! Yes very tough conditions 😓 I was very glad that the baggage drop off was indoors for us. Such a cold day! Well don’t for getting through it all!
Well done Chris and Hannah!! That's amazing! I did my first 10K last year, having asthma I found it a struggle at the end, I can't imagine running a whole marathon 😅
I'm a bit late to this but I also ran the Osaka marathon this year. I had so much fun eating on the course that when I got back to Sydney, I googled 'food marathon Japan' and found the Tohoku Food half marathon which was held a few weeks ago. It's about 1hr outside of Sendai. I flew back to Japan just for that race. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun run with food involved. Probably the easiest 21kms that I've ever done, since the race was broken up every 2kms with food. If you're looking for a very beautiful scenic run, also highly recommend the Mt Fuji Marathon. It's a very flat race around the two lakes bar one steep uphill section. Autumn leaves, blue sky and Mt Fuji in front of you, it's such a memorable race.
Oooh yeah I heard about the food marathon! 😅 In a full I feel like I could eat a whole meal throughout but I wonder if I’d have the appetite in a half. And yes I’m seriously considering the Mt Fuji Marathon this year 😁 it just looks SO beautiful!
Oh I had to laugh to see the Symbicort Turbo-inhaler and the Ventolin puffer. Same same here - Symbicort first thing in the morning (and again about ~5pm), ventolin just before (and if needed during) a run. Congratulations on a PB, and to Chris for his first marathon.
@@CurrentlyHannah Living in Brisvegas, I'm tempted to make Gold Coast my first marathon. Only worry is it can get so hot, but at least it's a lot flatter than Brisbane. Not this year's though, but 2025. I'm only just back into running after heart surgery.
Woohoo! 👏👏👏 This took me back to when I was cheering my brother on in the Amsterdam marathon and there was this one Japanese runner (judging from the name on his shirt). So I yelled 'gambatte' and he looked so surprised before smiling and waving 😅😊. Good times!
It's pretty cool when you see a UA-camr that you subscribed for Japan content ends up uploading a video in a niche that you're very interested in! Well done on the PB. I currently don't live in Japan but was just curious if you can buy the Mag-on in store anywhere, or is the only way to order them online. I'm moving to Japan soon and need to start thinking about how I'll get my nutrition once I'm there
That was really fun to watch (besides the weather)! And I loved that map 🤣👍🏻❤️ And it animated me even more to start training again. I don't know why, but Japanese Marathons look kind of 'welcoming' 😅
Currently I use daily suggestion on Garmin. If you add a race to your event on Garmin, it will suggest you daily run for your race. Let's try it on your next race. Hope you get another PB.
I did my first ever half marathon last year. I would like to try a whole sometime, but I really struggle with the time commitment for the training. Training for the half started to get pretty difficult for me to squeeze in, since the training runs get longer and longer, and eventually you're looking at a good six or more hours a week of running. Maybe if I can get myself together and feeling a little less busy, I'll go for the full marathon. XD
Today, That video made me realize " What kind of country in Japan? How a good country Japan? " So U need to check this channel, If you're interested about Japan!! Hi! Hannah and Cris! I'm from Japan but I'm currently living in Ayr, QLD which is Australia!! 😊 Thank you for sharing about Japan!!! I'm soooo glad that :)) I Hope I could see you guys at 🇯🇵 or 🇦🇺 some dayyyy!!! One of my favo UA-cam channel🫶🏻

I look forward to doing this marathon in the future!
Hannah any video you do is interesting and the added bonus of Chris makes it even better :) Well done on your PB and 1st marathon for Chris
That’s very kind! Thank you 🥰
Loved watching this Hannah!! What an effort
Hannah,
Good morning from the USA, thank you for taking us along, that looked fun!
Have a great day and take care!
Awww i teared up there at the end! Well done Hannah! You can really see your determination to get to the finish! May i ask what training plan you followed? So sweet you and chris finished together
Oh thank you! We used the Garmin Marathon Novice 2 plan on their website. I really enjoyed it!

Ooooh I do love Matsumoto 👀 Although I’ve been eyeing off the Mt Fuji marathon for awhile now too!

Congratulations! Not sure I could ever do more than the half-marathon I did in the past, but this is making me think about it.
Eyyyyy!!! You did it!!! Way to go, so proud of you two!! ❤❤
Loved this video and congrats on a race well done! I do tris, but I like seeing anything related to get me pumped up for racing season!
ありがとうございます!
Oh so kind 🥰 Thank you!
Congratulations to you both! You should try Kyoto Marathon next time, the medal is always nice, the crowd and the food along the course is great.
Inspiring Hannah ! Great job to you both!!
great job!! seemed so cold and weather was not perfect BUT you looked having so much fun! Marathon is hard to participate but this video changed the myth. you made me to think trying marathon someday🥰

Jamás había disfrutado ver un maratón hasta que la vi Hannah hoy se veia super emocionada... me hubiera gustado ver más disfraces. excelente video.
Yay! What a great video! Y'all have so much motivation to power through like that! Go Hannah and Chris!
Having the data on screen was a great visual! Well done!

Saw you guys while I was there! I think we were about the same pace.

CONGRATS YOU TWO!!!! looked incredible even with the weather!
Hahaha yeah I get emotional watching other peoples’ marathon vlogs too 😂
Wow, so good! I'm from Thailand and I ran the Osaka Marathon 2024. It rained and was cold the entire way! 🥰🥰
Oh wow, I went through all the emotional rollercoaster right there with you. Such a well edited video, thank you so much for making it.
Thank you! This was actually Chris’ edit and he did such a good job!
@@CurrentlyHannah Oh I see, you both are so good at what you do. Looking forward to next one as always. ❤️

need more travel videos from you hannah. we all get inspired from you❤

Just gotta get it done! 💪🏼
Aoshima Marathon is super fun, too! Usually great weather and vibes are 🤌 Really cool video :)
Well done! any marathon finish is a major accomplishment
And I guess the Garmin was right about time.
Well done to you both!! That's amazing! Great video!!

Great job, what a great run and memory!

Haha the struggle is real! I’m glad I didn’t need it much this race, just towards the end. In the Gold Coast marathon I used it about 20 times 😳

Running a marathon is a feat alone, but with a camera and commentary… respect! 😊
I recon filming definitely took some energy out of me haha
Woohoo! 👏👏👏 This took me back to when I was cheering my brother on in the Amsterdam marathon and there was this one Japanese runner (judging from the name on his shirt). So I yelled 'gambatte' and he looked so surprised before smiling and waving 😅😊. Good times!

congrats you two, well done!!
Try Borobudur Marathon in Indonesia, the cheering known as the best cheering ever in the world! You should check it on someone vlog there.
Congrats! 🥳
This was very interesting to watch. You did it though! Congrats on kicking butt!
Well done hannah!
完走おめでとうございます。あっぱれ!!
Congratulations on finishing the marathon 🥳🎉 I love the medal 🏅❤
I'm certainly inspired to sign up for 2025's Osaka Marathon, just by watching this video 🥳!!! Simply Brilliant 👍

Oh yeah I used that for the first month or two but they definitely weren’t ramping up as much as they should’ve been so we switched after that.
Congratulations to both you and Chris, well fought run.
Toit like a toiger! Love it. Congrats on the PB!

I was at the rainy Osaka marathon this year and a week later for Tokyo’s.
Great run and great coverage of the race お疲れ様でした!
I just noticed after watching Shogun, but anyone thinks Chris looks like the actor who plays Buntaro (12:20)! 🤣
Hahaha it’s not the first time hearing that 😂
Congrats, both!
Awesome video 😁 appreciate you alls sharing ❤
Great job! 4:15 is a very good time. Hannah, are you in Strava?
loving the toight like a toiger references :D
Participating in annual events and hobby circles is one way to adapt to Japanese life.
The big city marathon is a typical example.
They’re all about the external achievements hobbies!
how did you maintain that 150 bpm under 5:30 pace
You made it look so easy.
Amazing, it was insane
1:52 lol cheeky spoiler for the super scientific sunscreen special
Just a little 🤫
What camera do you use while running?
why did I felt emotional when you crossed the finished line? lol. congrats to both of you! im kinda inspired to run again. but, nah
Hahaha yay! That’s how I feel when I watch other peoples’ marathon vlogs so I’m glad I brought the same response haha
Great video!
how do you train for marathons, I hope you could encourage me
Congrats!
You are amazing!
안녕하세요 영상^^봤습니다. 사랑하는도시 오사카!! 한국에도 오셔서 마라톤 영상 찍으시면 좋을것같아요
Thanks for sharing this video! I was wondering about your heart rate though - what do you think your max heart rate actually is?
Ohhh you dont just do running... or running in Japan... you Japan. Sold I'm in, subbed. ありがとうございます!
Amazing thinking that you were in your zone 3 the whole time
Yeah I kinda thought I was supposed to be in zone 2 but apparently 3 and then 4 towards the end is common!
damnnn that's crazy that you did that while also being asthmatic!
Awesome content!
