Childhood dream job for me this, ended up working in IT but regardless this sings to me. So satisfying, no clue about the skill but you look like an expert!
Nice work my friend , I do large excavation and deep foundation work here on Ontario Canada with Hitachi 450 with/topcon lazzer . , when you run the machine with your boots off you take pride in your work/machine ,I too do the same , Cheers from Ontario .
Appreciate it pal. I do try. And tbh I just find it more comfortable. Never operated anything bigger than 35 tonne. Would love a go in a 450 or bigger 😎
@@irishdiggerman5691 Great job bud, it's almost as enjoyable watching excavators work as it is operating them, I use to operate excavators 20 years ago, and also with my boots off, although one job I was working on a water treatment plant at Lough Neagh and had an argument with the health and safety officer because I wasn't wearing my boots, then I pointed out to him that I will have to stop using the machine for crane work as there was a sticker in the cab saying not to use as a crane, he didn't like that and came back half an hour later with the boss and removed the sticker, lol.
Apprecaite it pal. Tbh I struggle to hear what I'm saying some times also and I'm saying it. Either need a microphone or start adding subtitles. Thanks for watching 👍
@irishdiggerman5691 cat controls and backhoe controls (iso v sae) cat controls have swing and stick/dipper on left stick, boom and bucket on right stick, sae or backhoe/John Deere pattern have swing and boom on left stick, stick/dipper and bucket on right stick.
Top job your you've got alot of skills 👏 👌 👍 btw how did u become an excavator operator / digger man was it something you always wanted to do and in the blood orsethikg u just stumbled upon ?
Thanks mate. Driving machines was never the plan. But my uncle had a construction firm and my dad worked there. When I was at school went with my dad every sat and worked as a young labourer helping out where I could. Earned some pocket money. 1 day I was on site and the guy meant to drive the mini digger didn't show and I was the only person there so I jumped in and stockpiled some topsoil that was being delivered to site in trucks. The next week I was offered a job to train on a little 7.5 T hitachi knuckle boom and I accepted. I had a job lined up in a factory working shifts but went with my uncle instead. That was 20 years ago now. 🤷♂️🤣
Im jack from brazil living in ireland galway. Whats the crak? Ill have my cscs 360 excavator ticket test in 5 days. I only have 6 months expirience. Ive never seen that GPS thing. It seems so handy. Good videos. How is the weather over there?
Sorry jack. I missed your comment. I hope your test went well and you now have your cpcs digger ticket 👍 yes the gps is very handy pal. Great thing to have. And weather is shit 😂 as im sure it has been in Galway also 😊
Hi how’s a going I’m 18 currently a labour for block layers 😢😂 but I was wondering what’s the best way to get into a machine getting harder and harder these days
Your not wrong lad. It's certainly not as easy as when I started. So much health and safety these days it's hard to get the experience without paying out big money for your tickets 1st. There is big companies out there who run apprenticeship schemes for digger/dumper operators. Maybe worth a look?
There loads of places all over the north lad. Not the cheapest thing yo do, though. Especially if you're a beginner. Would be a 3 or 4 day course i think
Hi I’ve used topcon intelligent control on pc210 and pc290 I’m on a pc365 now digging a river bed and it has the same screen as you and I’m strugggling to get it to make the audible alarm when down to grade is there any chance you’d be able to explain this possibly cheers
56:15 if you look closely as I zoom into screen you'll see the little touch screen button I mean. There is a cluster of 4 small circles. My alarm button is top right. Let me know if you have that. If not I'm sure there will be a way to add it. 👍
The stone in the middle is the excess stone from the piles. I did save what I could my digging bucket is wider than the piles so to dig the stone out I would have to either dig them out along with clay which is pointless or else change bucket and dig them out which slows me down and as I'm on price that's a no go. Stone is already classed as surplus, so any stone i do save is a bonus.
@@irishdiggerman5691 I have Chkd and can’t find one! I truly appreciate your camera placement! As a child my favorite toys were Tonka toys, and the excavator was my best one!

On my screen on the right hand side there is simply a little circle with a speaker symbol inside. I can tap that to mute and unmute.

dont you level your excavator ?
It is level pal!! I wouldn't be digging otherwise.
How do excavator operators know how deep they are digging?
I have gps guidance fitted to this machine. So I can see my dig level on screen. Great tool 👍

Do older excavators have that?
It can be fitted to any excavator pal if your willing to pay for it 👍
