    Yet another prominent dish in kerala sadya. Yam, banana...etc are cooked in curd and coconut paste to get thick consistency. Tempering in ghee and coconut oil takes this kaalan to next level! make it one or two days prior to onasadya.

    Ingredients
    Yam 1/2 C
    Water 3/4
    Raw banana 1/2 c
    Salt 1/2 tsp+
    Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
    Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
    Pepper powder 1/4 tsp
    Chili 1
    Curry leaves few
    For grinding
    Coconut 1/2 C heaped
    Cumin 1/4 tsp
    Chilli
    Curd 1 1/2 c
    For Tempering
    Coconut oil 1 tbsp
    Ghee 1 1/2 tsp
    Mustard 1/4 tsp
    Femugreek 1/8 tsp
    Dry chilli
    Curry leaves
    Fenugreek powder
