Is the uv editor broken in 4.2? In the UV editor the skeleton is upside down, and when painting weight in the Bone tab the texture of the Polygon2d becomes transparent, even it the UVs of it in the UV tab is still over a texture. at times, when the texture is visible, it may disappear when the bone is rotated out into some none standard range.
it takes time to set up everything (even more time that it takes to make the art with bunch of parts and cut out the image) and is easier to fucked it up in the process.. someone please make a plugin for Dragonbones for the sake of a faster workflow.. PD: thanks for the tutorial!!
agreed. Im trying to decide on if i should just get Spine2d. Compared to other rigging tools that I have used in the past (Toonboom and Rubberhose) the process in Godot looks so much more time consuming 🫠
the polygon creation is an absolute pain in the ass, the polygon2d performance is still pretty underperformant compared to dragonbones and creature. I will wait for better tools in godot before using this
I followed this, but for some reason my polygon does not move when i move the bone, visa versa. The bones move, but the texture doe not seem to move when i rotate it, only the bones. What am I doing wrong??
''i am going to do the head and the legs cya in a second" *ends video* oh
Part 2 is in the description now. For anyone wondering: ua-cam.com/video/QL57J3anDTU/v-deo.html

6:50 As soon as i mark the outlines, the texture will blur and deform in weird ways on some spots. What could be the reason for that?
thanks for another great tutorial :)

It takes time to create the game in the first place. Your point?
@@galacticquasar9944 He never said otherwise, and his point is already spelled out quite crystal-clear there... How could you miss it?

Awesome tutorials

Same here.. when I use polygon2d my original image is distorted and looks terrible
@@chrismas8874 My image was distorsed to, and the perfect easy solution is to add 1 or 2 transparent pixel in your image with GIMP (by example)
very nice tutorial! the godot animator seems to be very neat. gave me a good overview of everything needed!
Very nice! Mesh deform in Godot can't be used without bones? I tried Polygon2d, but its not very good to deform...

Same
Awesome!
I cnt see either of skeleton and pencil tool
Can I make a ragdoll out of this ?
How i can find this robot assets for prpracti.
github.com/ndee85/gBot
when can we rig and animate 3d skeleton...
*why can't i drag and drop png image files into textures like you?*
what should be the resolution for the individual body part map... can some body explain
Atleast have 3 loops around joints and more the loop, better the deformation.
In the uv editor i dont see uv, points, polygons, and bones
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO USE THIS MODEL? IT'S STARING INTO MY SOUL D:
can you use this to ragdoll?
Can you import 2d bones animation from blender or moho?
no
Did you call it a godot robot, i always thought it was the go-bot
if it were a gobot, would you pronounce it as "guh-beau?" or "guh-bot"?
@@magnificloud is that not obvious, after all noone says robot/robo as ruh-beau
@@magnificloud furthermore, beau can sound like byu as in beautiful, so I'm just confused what either of us just said.
@@magnificloud and not guh-bot, goh-bot.
Can somebody help me?
when can we do this in 3d??
The godot bot's left arm is the same as the right arm just darkened lol
G bot is creepy
use blender?
why the fu*k dont do the just the proper import from other animation programs?
is there a way to get a similar effect in 3d using 2d sprites?
