My buddy and I are getting into the business this next upcoming season and we are trying to figure out the best way to set up our spray rig. We have a wand with a valve on it now but what you’re using seems way more sensible, so what is that wand and what kind of tip are you using? It looks great and it looks like you have a greater deal of control over your fan
The wand and tip I'm using ( for oil based sealer, won't work for water based I don't think ) is ordered from a place in Ontario called MKRittenhouse, on their website the wand part number is AA23H for the trigger gun, 6671-48 for the extension wand (48"), and I use the #3 tip TP8003EVS
Hope you are spraying two coats as it looks sparse. Why dont you squeegy the seal coat into the asphalt driveway, won't is adhere better than spraying?
That’s what I needed to know. I put the same size pump on my new setup that pumps 24 gallons a minute and it is bogging the motor down when I put pressure on it. It works fine on the other one that has the gear reduction on it but not this one. So I will get a smaller pump and change this one out. I have a t valve that’s rated for 1200 psi which I will not use that much pressure but it might work on it when I get the right pump. Thanks for your help my friend.
This is guaranteed super thin. Uneven and really watered down. You don't paint like a spray can. Nice even consistent spray from side to side. Could have sprayed this the right way in a quarter of the time it took to spray it like someone that put watered down sealer in their power washing setup. From the looks of the cardboard it looked like black spray paint.
We just had our driveway paved. Whoever was operating the roller ran through some dirt before getting back up on to the asphalt. So there's a large area that's discolored because his roller wasn't clean. Wife hates it. Asphalt is now a few weeks freshly paved. Is it too soon to put a seal coat on top of it to make her happy? She wants it perfectly black and nice looking. If we can just seal it now and make it look perfect, what product do you recommend? I'm going to do it myself because we are tired of having to rely on someone "doing it right the first time." That hasn't worked out for us lately. Can I get some sort of attachment or set up to spray like this?
You can call your local asphalt places or go online to asphalt kingdom and get 5 gallon bucket and a squeegee and seal it yourself don’t use homedepot sealer

I can see you are leaving open pores from the thin layer of coat. This will leave access to water get in to the pavement. I think it needs a second coat. A driveway/parking lot typically needs two coats of sealcoat because the first coat absorbs into the pavement, filling opened pores, while the second coat provides a protective layer, repelling water and preventing damage from UV rays and chemicals. This double-layer approach ensures a durable and long-lasting seal! By doing just one coat It could end by either leaving open pores and live access to water going in to the pavement and have a failed sealcoat protective coat. This could happen by having a very thin and light coat. Or if it’s to thick we can find flakes of Sealcoat pealing off due to having a very thick coat. What kind of Sealcoat are you using?
I also brush and squeeze all edges to make sure it gets an even and comply coat cover. And then I spray the rest. By brushing and squeeze all edges I also have a very clean-and professional ending job. I algo don’t have a single overspray on walls, garage doors and garage concrete and grass. Looks like oil based. Worst sealer you can use. No hate, but asphalt emulsion or coat tar is better.. Oil based has no grip in the winter leaving your driveway a slippery mess and it will be gone in 6 months.
You need to do a little research before saying much more. Oil based sealer is the only sealer to use, unless the pavement is junk and just needs covering up. Look, asphalt is made up of 3 components, sand, stone, liquid asphalt. When the surface starts turning gray, it needs liquid asphalt to continue to function properly. The oil based sealer penetrates the surface rejuvenating the asphalt. Water based sealer doesn’t do that. Know what you’re talking about before you criticize what other people are doing.
