Finally, a new John Carmack keynote. I can listen to him talk all day. Such an intelligent person. I was looking forward to his 2014 QuakeCon keynote, but I was really disappointed when I found out that he wouldn't be giving any, since he's not a part of id software anymore.

John Carmack is awesome - I appreciate his openness and clarity of vision when it comes to all the expansive applications of VR that will enhance total medium, including enriching the gaming aspects, as more areas are explored that may have one been concerned with as peripheral 'maybe some day" projects. I'm not a gamer simply because my life took me down different paths, however, every time I visit someone who is a gamer, my mind is blown beyond at how far the graphics, controls, and depths of realism has been reached thus far. Now, almost 30 years old and totally engrossed in the VR-Revolution, I am completely amazed with the gaming industry and am learning how to program and develop games and interactive environments thanks to Unreal Engine 4's incredible free release - I know I'm not alone, and thanks to the expansion of VR beyond the gaming sector, I'm sure MANY people who weren't previously into gaming and developing and creating-content - now will be, allowing perspectives and experiences to be created and shared from more and more new and unsuspected sources.

Great that I was finally exposed to "John Carmack"! A very intelligent person,very knowledgeable of what he's been "into" since his creation of the 1st DOOM;and, SO much more as to his unbelievable knowledge ...of SO much more!

but he is just another mind that can think like everyone else. we all have that potential to do better than him and grow off of others ideas.
I want to See Total Annihilation ported. it would be so amazing to see though the eyes of a commander and play the game that way, RTS has always been a keyboard and mouse field, but just imagine the immersion if you were in the battle with a good control scheme.

John Carmack is now Crazy Confirmed. Really Mobile devices will be the future platform for gaming REALLY, and even VR will become failure in Gaming Industry just like the Kinect and The Virtual Boy before it, and people back then though that those useless machine will become THE FUTURE OF GAMING and look at them now, they're jokes, and nothing will beat a controller in your hand and a screen in front of you.

Do you know how many people game on mobiles now, It's a huge percentage of overall market share. Fact is casual gamers outnumber hardcore gamers. (I class console gamers as casual but the official charts don't)
Also game controllers are garbage, Mouse and keyboard are better for control in most games.

It's sound that way, but he's actually saying 'gaze shooters' - as in using head movement tied to crosshair position in an FPS and such.
