Well done ! what a great car to restore i think a lot of people will want to see your restoration journey .Nice rare grille too.🙂The early Discovery's had Marina van tail lights and Sherpa Headlights and Metro dash dials and possibly Marina door handles

High milage but as long as the engine is strong and the underneath is solid...
(We know the list is long of potential problems with these).
Keep it and tinker with it when you have time.
You'll not be getting stuck in the fields or back roads..

A good interior detailing, fluid changes, brakes check…make sure she FIT for the road… and the rest comes easy..
Great base for a sweet 4 wheeler.. ideal for your lifestyle if I may say so myself..she’s gonna be great when you’re done with her..

I have a three door 300tdi D1 that I'm restoring .
I'm also keeping it mostly original and yes they're getting really rare nowadays.
Most were killed by rust or bought when they were cheap and the engines used in Defender conversions.
Ims it's a nice landie u got there n you seem well chuffed awesome mate look forward to seeing you clean her up enjoy buddy
Used to work for land Rover built the under carriage the plastic underneath the engine a kind of protector love seeing your video brings back good memories x

Nice Disco, always nice to see another 200tdi being saved, I have a grey L reg 5 door.
If you join the Project Jay Preservation Group you will find advice on how to fix/find bits as well as the opportunity to display it at shows, I've displayed mine twice with them

Yes please Stu and do like you have spoken about, as these vehicles are at the best in standard form, plus you can take ‘Ruby’ on your future adventures up and down these great country of ours too.

Definitely keep her and do videos on the work would be great. Get what bits fixing to make her look better. Do a clean me in and out video and if peeps want help they can donate. Or even still donate some parts that you may need bro. This will help and could be the channels beast to get you on all the journeys. Its a yes from me bro 👊🏽❤️

Solihull’s finest. My uncle worked as part of the design team for that car - I got to ride in the jump seats in the boot of one with my cousins just before they were released at the end of the 80s

That's a old one and you don't see a 3 door anymore but doesn't look bad body wise but under neath you have to watch and engine is very high mileage but if was the price was good then fair play to you but will you do the work??🤔 as the past few projects we haven't seen the VW burger van and the old BMW so I bet they was sold so would be interesting if you do the work stu 👍
Yeah the bmw was sold due to being full of rot in the rear!! And the burger van was swapped for a t4 snail back!! So tgat will be featured very soon , appreciate your honesty bud, thanks for watching

Nice motor that I forgot the dials and the indicator and wiper stalks straight out of rover bin parts. I am sure that an old montego I used to have had the exact same dash etc
Have the same one on AJ. Reg sold it with just and just under half a million miles on it. Yes, it had a new staring box. A good second hand tabut. It still pulled life. And had a 12 month Mo.T when I got a reddit Not a day goes by where I don't miss the old bus. And it toad a 24 foot touring caravan around as well.
Restore it stu fridge bed something to cook and all rounder wicked
..change the paint do the interior mileage is nothing for them and it looks in reasonable nick ,👍👍👍👍👍

The amount of hours of welding I've done on them in the past. Especially the body mounts that like to rot away.

Stu mate I would absolutely love to see more of this beautiful old 200 series on the channel, from the first wash right the way through to you restoring it. And if you ever want to sell it I will give you £1500 more than anyone else for it as I am an avid Land Rover collector and the 200 series is as rare as hens teeth now!!!

I’ve owned a lot of them 200 and 300 series plus a few classic range rovers which is what the disco is under the skin early standard ones are becoming rare now

I kinda like ruby tbh and i ant great land rover guy tbh ...aye remove red paint from windows mibby get them tinted cause no doudt you will think about making it mini camper has night heater all ready so half battle
Roof lights and bullbar and winch for sure cause you like getting stuck in random places and goimg walk in the woods
But no ruby looks good base to start tbh lookimg forward to seeing the mods you do

These early LR discos were very reliable. It's as they started getting more electrics they became a bag of problems. Nice one.

Love that Stu restore it I had discovery 200tdi loved it I put some off road wheels on it but had road tyres on it.mine was k reg 93 one of my bad decisions selling it was by far the worse decision I ever made selling it be good to see it restored definitely change the colour good luck with sorting the windows 🤣🤣

First job is to get that horrible paint off the windows, will look 1000 times better, use a blade in one of then holders to scrap it off

I'm going to buck the trend here after reading all the positive comments but I genuinely don't see the appeal. It's just another Chelsea tractor to me. I just don't know enough about these and they just don't float my boat. I'm not trolling or being a hater but it just does nothing for me. You could park that outside my house and I genuinely wouldn't notice it.
