Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah either fish a blob like this, or on your top dropper whilst fishing the washing line to attract the fish in. Cheers 👍🏻🎣
Win. Thanks again Chris.. Another really interesting video. I'll look forward to the next one... Would also love to see a video of the black and purple zonker getting tied.
I wish I'd seen this video before I went fishing last weekend! Same conditions, but only a few bites and no netted fish for me. Lots of good information in this one video! Thanks 👍
Cheers mate. The key is to always be switch methods to determine the most effective. Conditions give me a starting point but I’m willing to try all methods during a session. This was fun though, I’m going to do more challenges like this 👍🏻🎣
Good experiment, enjoyed it. Useful tip... Stretchy tennis wrist bands over the join between wrist and cuff keeps rain out and stops the line catching. WIN.
Win. Always look forward to your videos mate. I’m also well pleased that you are doing videos on tying flys as well. I’m already tying some and plan to try them this weekend. Keep them coming Chris.
WIN. Great wee videos. Hope to fish Rosslynlee next year when I'm up in Penicuik, my home town. Used to work on the farm along the road towards Howgate👍👍🎣🎣

Win, really enjoyed that. Love the concept to, it's really interesting to see the outcome and definitely something I'll be introducing into my own angling.
WIN . Always appreciate your videos very relatable and top marks for staying out under those conditions defo worth it.just started using a bung and will be trying eggs out . Many thanks
WIN. As a coarse fisher trying trout fishing for the first time it’s interesting to study bung fishing and when it works and doesn’t. It seems to me that there are similarities with float fishing on still waters in that coarse fish don’t like to see the bait moving unnaturally. If the float bobs, moving the bait about, or if the wind pulls the line and you don’t mend it, they just don’t want to know. Maybe matching your experience here when the weather got worse? Excellent videos!
Rainbow trout are generally stupid, but there are ways to maximise effectiveness such as where it’s moving, use something with movement like a squirmy or a lure or an apps. When it’s very windy anything in a floater is too hard to control. Cheers mate, glad you are enjoying them! 👍🏻🎣
Haha, cheers mate. Yeah I have smaller patterns tied with weasel or pine squirrel which I go to if they are nipping still them, but these purple rainbow zonkers are just killing it! 👍🏻🎣
Thanks Mark! In cold weather / winter buzzers are less effective. Something more to get a reaction like eggs, squirmy, or even lures will get you more trout this time of year 👍🏻🎣
Win. Thanks again for some great tips . I am relatively new to fly fishing and this will be my first winter and I am hoping for it to be better than The spring and summer outings. I fish Brick Farm Lakes in Sussex as it is local to me but not having much success, but will persevere. Keep the videos coming and thanks again.
If you are new then don’t panic, it will all come together. Winter is easier to get fish to take I find, you just need to find them which can take time. Fish can shoal more in cold weather I find, but once you get into them it can be great sport! I’m sure barrybigplums (fishing channel) fishes at brick farm, so look him up and ask for some advice - seems a good bloke 👍🏻🎣
