- In this video, I talk about some left hand patterns that can be used in blues and boogie piano playing, particularly in solo situations when the pianist is playing improvised solos and also needs to lay down a supporting groove. We briefly go over simple bass-line construction and using those bass-lines with a shuffled octave technique.
The Keyboard Fundamentals series is a weekly video in which I take a close look at a single element that's been a big part of my playing, and show how I use it and where it can fit in different musical situations. As the series goes on, I'd really like to talk about topics that viewers are interested in, so please do leave comments. I'll probably look to them for future video topics.
Great video. If you have the time, could you do a video focusing on the right hand blues licks that you’re playing?
hear hear!
You are a great blues player, one of the best on the UA-cam. There are a bunch of blues songs I'd like to see you play. I've learned more from your videos than I have from most. Thanks!
Too few views!

I gotta get your midi notes.....your explanations are great!
Wow this is really wonderful Bro.
Thanks, Michael. I really enjoy your practical, no-nonsense approach in these videos. You make these styles very approachable - it’s easy for me to get stuck in a few ruts and you provide lots of new grooves.
Bonsoir je suis débutant pourriez arrêter de parler trop dans les vidéos on à besoin apprendre les morceaux
This left-hand pattern is nightmare for me :((
"Ah, just one moment, officer
