It is ridiculous that shocking people is still allowed in modern times.

    Skin shock is torture, period.

I don't understand why people think shocking humans into compliance makes any sense. It should be obvious that it's torture.

It becomes a lot easier when they can think of us as "not fully human".

@@digiscream as an autistic woman, I feel that many people have viewed me as less human. It's terrifying to live in this brain an in this body, so I act terrified, but some people want to shock the autism out of us. where is the logic?

@@bedhead-studio - there doesn't need to be any, in their world. It's a combination of dogma and a planet-sized saviour complex. In any sane world, they'd be the ones institutionalised.

Temu keeps erasing my comment. I was lovass' mindless nonperson blob circa 1961 but cannot expand about that experience.

I am so proud of all of these people standing up for those who can't defend themselves. BAMF's!

How in the fuck would anyone, with the slightest amount of empathy, think that this abuse is even remotely OK? I follow Jen on some social media platforms, and she seems to be such a lovely woman. Just thinking about the shit she and so many other innocent children have been through, just makes my blood boil

Because many people refuse to expand their thinking. Generations have had their morals and senses blunted. In addition their herd instinct had been weaponized against them.

Behaviorism from the 1920 through the mid-1950 fell on its face as a viable treatment; using newer words before or after ‘behavior’ does not change its efficacy.
Anyone who masks or uses thespian skills to function knows first hand that behavior is shallow and not persona changing.
Fear and pain from my experience working with canines and horses is not viable.
I am 78 years old, and if I were young again and placed back to our current time and culture, I would keep my autism a private matter.

28:34 A condescending neurotypical dismissing pain that's not their own as "melodrama"? Wow, what a rare fin.

Makes me really appreciate what self preservation does when you see an organisation be against conversion therapy and still see no issues with their operational model and see no irony in that.

Could you do a video about child abuse and trauma and late autism diagnosis. With parents and family whom didn't notice anything with child at young age.🥰
