I have really bad arthritis and the size is the main selling point of the pro for me. I feel like telling everyone not to get it based purely on its size is pretty narrow minded when there's a good portion of people out there who actually see it's larger size as a positive. It's very much a personal taste kind of thing.
This pen should've been compatible with the laptops for as big as it is, also unpopular opinion I prefer the new age pens over the ones that store in the phone simply because of the size of them, which is closer to regular pen size, I find them more comfortable to write with.

Ok, if your like me, I have a tab S 7 plus, Z fold 3, and the 360 convertible computer. It's nice to have 1 pen to use on all three. When I go to the library I have my tab s 7 plus and z fold 3. I use one pen on all of them. Sometimes when I have all 3 of my devices, it's nice to only need 1 pen for all 3 devices. My computer, phone tablet. So, yes I need this pen.

S Pen Pro is big because of the lithium ion battery inside it. Once 100% charged, it lasts for a month with constant use before needing to recharge it. Also the Bluetooth LE component is what allows it to work with other Samsung products that use air gestures that was added to Galaxy ultra line as note series seems to have ended. It's really a dismissive millennial attitude to be negative over the S Pen Pro being the size of a #2 graphite pencil. Coming from a time when having a great smooth writing pen helped ease cramping your hand ✍ because we used to write on paper opposed to using your finger on a digitized screen to your writing today. Put the S Pen Pro in your bag, man purse or your pocket if you may need to sign your name to a document you're editing in Adobe or some PDF editor.
I'm a tattoo artist and i love drawing on my giant Samsung tablet better then my old iPad pro that I used to have. Main reason is more file sharing options afterwards and better customizable and multitasking experience. Plus a lot of documents that are sent to me I haven't been able to view on ios. Pretty much all of them from bank statements to EDD documents to government and SSI files, I just seem to get Much more use out of my Samsung. I've noticed no matter what documents are sent to me its so easy to open view and sign if need be , THATS WHAT YOU WANT IN A TABLET.
I got one using bonus points and cash from when I pre-ordered my Z Fold 3. Out of curiosity, i tried using it on my Z Fold 2, but it didn't work. Before the Fold line, I had 3 Notes so being able to use the S Pen again feels good. I wish the pen would compress and extend out to make it more portable.
The Notes didn't have BT functionality before Note9 either. I wouldn't mind if it would take until the Z Fold 9 before Samsung manages internal storage/self charging of a BT powered S pen into it.
I have a disease that makes writing with small pens more difficult, with carpel tunnel on top of that from years of officework. I use my S7 and F3 pens for quick notes for work or whatever, but the pro for taking notes for school (non traditional student here) because it's so much easier on my hand when I have to write a lot. I'm thrilled they made a bigger one and highly recommend it 🤷♀️
I don't think some reviewers understand the purpose of the S-Pen Pro. It supposed to be an all around SPen for all devices. It was never specifically designed for the Z Fold 3 or the S 21 Ultra. As an S7 Plus owner, this is exactly what I've been waiting for!!
I carry it in my pocket (guys have it easy that way) I have bigger hands and so bigger pen is easier. Many times I need to "think" out an quickly fading impulsive genius though at a traffic light. I am going to get one today. I buy nothing that is not USB C. Good luck Ginger!!
Same. With my arthritis, the larger size is the main reason I want the pro. I don't even care about the Bluetooth features 😂
Can't get mine to charge. Is there a charging indicator? I tried on my S21 Ultra and on my Surface Pro 8. Samsung tech support couldn't help and referred me to an independent shop 40 minutes away
This is actually a super solid stylus in my opinion. Maybe not ideal for everyone. But specially if you do art, having a pen-sized stylus is more comfortable if you're doing digital art on bigger screens for hours at a time, i.e. on a Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360.

Great content. Question since the s pen pro has a type c does the package say anything about water resistances. So if it gets wet, or drop it in water by mistake will it still work? The note s pens are water resistant because there housed in the body of the phone.
There's no info on water resistance. It does plug the port but looks like fluid ingres is a risk.
Samsung has a deal right can get pen pro for like $70 bucks and the fold edition is only $35 right now. Does any one think for my fold 3 I should get pro pen due to being on sale or just get the fold 3 pen still ? 🤔

i have the s pen pro and your right, its too big and quite frankly i have left it at home deliberatly because i can not be bothered carrying it around. the fold 3 edition pen does the job for me. fits in the case that i have. basically the s pen pro is gathering dust somewhere in the house....
Down side the pro pen ONLY comes in black which sucks when I have mystic bronze phone, buds, and laptop. Only the tab pen comes in bronze and they are NOT compatible. The magnet in the tab S pen fried the hdd card in my laptop
So by it's size then there's no chance of a case supporting it for the S21 Ultra even in the future it seems.😦
Got the spen pro for my s22 ultra since the spen that is included is small. Spen pro feels like a regular pen and feels natural to hold in my hand

I don’t think this is primarily for phones. It looks good for tablets though. Just wondering how does it compare to the regular tab s7 stylus. I don’t use Bluetooth features, but is the feel different? Does the Bluetooth add anything to drawing?

Feel like this should have come with the Tab S7 FE 12.4"...I mean this tablet is huge and the s pen it comes with is small and clumsy....for the money I paid for the tablet? And the s pen pro does not work on S21+, non ultra, again...stupid
It's definitely an improvement compared to the original for drawing. That's where it shines tbh, because the bigger size makes drawing more comfortable and it has reduced latency, so you get less lag when drawing.

S Pen pro is supported various note phone in samsung, then why samsung doesn't provide s pen support front screen on fold model.
I ended up getting the Fold Edition instead and it works like a charm!

Literally at 8 minutes on your video you used the fold edition pen and it worked you just have to set down your other pen before you touch the screen with the fold edition one
I got for my Z Fold 3..but returning it(just to big), and going with Zfold version on the S-Pen.
I lost my S Pen Pro. My Z Fold 4 found it a few miles away at the high school where I had a gig and showed the location very accurately on a map. Changed my definition of "nearby," for sure! It might have GPS built in, judging from what I observed. You can also set the Smart Things app to let you know you left it behind. BTW, if you loan it to your kid, you can use it to track where they are with it. Something Samsung never mentioned in their literature, but a useful function nonetheless.
If it doesn't fit in the phone like the Notes, it is of little use to me.

Thank You for the great video! I learned a ton! I have an S-21 Ultra 5G and got the S-Pen Pro for Christmas. I love it! And I found a case that houses it really well, so no problems there! The S-Pen I bought for my new phone sucked. For some reason it has to be angled just right for it to write, and then it’s still hit and miss. Aggravating at best! But I love my S-Pen Pro!

@@tanishgupte1612 Sorry, Tanish for the delay in answering. Yes, my S Pen Pro is larger than the Kezi Home case I have my Samsung S21 Ultra 5G in. But the case holds the pen perfectly and snugly and I have not had any issue with losing it or it falling out. The Pen only sticks up from the top of the case by maybe 1/4 of an inch. Not an impediment at all and it actually serves as a little bit of a grip to pull the pen out when I want to use it.

Well you wouldn't buy this with a Note. If you wanted a phone with a built in pen, you get a Note. That was it's whole thing. This is one pen for multiple devices, not something that should come with every phone
What happens If it runs out battery?. I know the The Bluetooth functionality will stop working but can you Use it to write once it runs auto battery?.

main point is the bigger size. probs geared towards artists and people who take a lot of notes. small pens get real tiring, this feels coser to a real pen. there's already smaller s pens with air actions, why make another small s pen? i hope they keep this size when upgrading it.

Hi yes but the air actions don't work I just bought a s6 lite and it doesn't connect you can write but no Bluetooth connection, my s pen pro works on my note 10 lite though

No need... not only because of the size, but also the air commands... there is no need, when you have voice commands that work flawlessly... cheese, record video, everything works great... this pen is an advantage for users who have multiple samsung devices... just that..

This click bait title makes it difficult to tell if this pen is actually worse than standard S-pens with respect to durability. Currently, I'm on my 3rd standard S-pen because the casing split near the nib on the first and the nib on the second works intermittently.
I agree. The S Pen Pro is too big to carry with you unless you always have a day bag or something like that and even then the smaller lighter one is a much better experience for actually writing/taping on the the device. Which is the most important function as it is the whole point of having a stylus in the first place. Sure some of the air remote features are neat and look cool and futurist to show your friends but beyond basically being a party trick they aren't useful enough to make dealing with trying to carry and use such a big stylus worth it. I feel like the air remote features really dont' belong in a pen. A separate remote for them in an actual remote like form factor would have been a better idea IMO. At least until Samsung figures out how to get the Bluetooth guts in the pen small enough to make it as least as small as the Fold Edition S Pen.
It's not really intended for phones in that way though, it's supposed to be better for digital art, which is why it has such low latency. The smaller pens aren't great for drawing, so it makes sense that the "pro" pen is bigger to make drawing more comfortable.
@@phoebeblaze3668 Do you have a Fold 3 and the S-pen fold edition? My comment is specifically about that S pen fold edition vs the Pro. The fold edition s pen is the perfect size for drawing. It is about the size in both thickness and length and and about the same weight a regular pencil. Unlike the overly skinny Note series s pens and the overly huge s pen pro, the S pen fold edition is the perfect size. And VS the pro edition it's easier to carry around, much less expensive, lighter, and you don't have to charge it. It's just flat out better in every way that matters than the s pen pro. The only thing the pro does that the fold edition s pen doesn't is the largely pointless gimmicky air features. All s pen enabled devices should have an S pen the size of the fold edition and maybe a skinny one to carry in a silo on the device and Samsung should just forget all that Bluetooth air gesture nonsense the requires such huge cumbersome,pen.
For me, S pen pro should reduced the size of it. The size should be like Tab S6 Lite or Tab S7. It would be much better for carrying with phones.

For some reason, my s pen fold works on my tab S7, only app it's not working properly is on the samsung notes app. All it does on that is erase, when trying to make handwritten notes, but handwriting to text function works just fine. That being said, I think I would still buy the spen pro 😅, just to get that one lost function 😅. Damn it Samsung!

P.S. The Bluetooth capability of the S-Pen Pro is right up there with Binoculars that can take pictures and UA-cam!!!!! 🤩👍💕
Even as a long time Note phone user (since the Note 2), I have to agree. The S Pen Pro is just too big to compliment my Z Fold 3. It took Samsung over 6 weeks to ship it to me, and when I received it yesterday I discovered it was not worth the wait. IMHO, the best S Pen is the one on my Tab S6. It's the ultimate in comfort and size, and it attaches to the device magnetically. 2nd best are the Note phone S Pens, which are unavoidably too skinny and short. 3rd and last best is this S Pen Pro. No way am I carrying this big wand-like device in my pants pocket all day, or ever.

Feels perfect in the hand, yet still has the fancy Bluetooth features that the giant S Pen Pro has (I finally gave in and bought the normal sized Fold 3 S Pen, minus the Bluetooth features). And I also read that the newer Tab S7 S Pen is just like it.
For something as expensive as the z fold, they should have included the damn pen. Even off to the side, since it doesn't seem like they're trying to put it in the phone.

I believe the s-pen fold is a 'dumb' stylus... No battery and doesn't work with the air commands. The pro has more options because it has a memory, it's faster, needs charging every 16 days and it's good on many other devices. If your spending money on the z-fold 3,then I would spend the extra $50 for the pro rather than buying the s-pen, better that having regrets. It also works on a slant.

So, I got my Z Fold 3 on launch day. Loving it. Been watching your channel for a while now for the leaks and rumors on Notes and Folds. Yes it would have been nice to have the S-Pen in the Fold but I am getting by having to carry it arouns with me.
What most people haven't yet realized is that even though the regular S-Pen do not work on the Fold 3, the S-Pen Fold Edition dose work on all other S-Pen enabled phones. My S-Pen Fold Edition works on my Note 20 Ultra and Note 10+.
As a side note, if you attach a narrow strip of tin foil to the flat side of the pen from the top(rounded end) about 1/4" from the top to about the halfway point with scotch tape. Leaving two 1/2" sections not covered with tape at either end. Then add a ruber stylus tip to the rounded end of the stylus, you can now use your stylus on any phone and the couver screen of the Fold 3. I wish I could send some pics of mine to help show this mod.

I wouldn't have bought a z fold 3 if I knew the pen that came with it was a total POS... Upgraded to the S pen pro to get back the features that I was missing from being a long term galaxy note user. The S Pen gives me two capabilities that I can't live without anymore:
1. Hover to translate: Literally life changing when your day to day life is in another language, every other translation tool pales in comparison
2. Smart select: capture a snippet of text that you can then stick to the front of other windows, allowing you to manually enter a phone number or password etc that was shared as an image
Noteworthy uses:
3. Being able to doodle (yes, less useful than the above)
5. Smart select: Turn text in an image into text (not super reliable when working in multiple languages)
6. Air commands: Using the S Pen to take a photo (especially good now that the phone stands up by itself)
It is massive and I need to figure out a way to have it with me everywhere (thinking of adding custom pouches to my clothes? May end up in the wash then?).
The fact that I had to pay extra to get this pen and regain this functionality when I paid like a million dollars for the phone sucks, but that's an issue with the phone (and me being a sucker), not the pen. Hopefully future Folds have the S Pen in the body of the phone, otherwise it's back to the Note for me.
I love the S Pen Pro it's closer to feel to the apple pencil.. and it feels good in the hand..

Small stuff when making videos, but probably worth noting- When you were showing the S Pen's toggle switch and buttons, the words were upside down. May not seem like much, however this made me stop watching the video. Like, it would take a half second to flip it and you can even edit it out. Better than giving the reference, "pushing the toggle towards the end of the pen for the fold".

I would never have bought a Samsung phone that didn't come with a built in S-Pen. I kept my N20 Ultra until the S22 Ultra was released.
Hard pass. I bought an spen pro in July and I draw allot. Had this guy for a couple months and today I had to switch to the last nib it came with, and im not even a heavy handed artist. It does require a more gentle touch, though the nibs are easy and affordable to replace. Not worth the money, 2 other s pens I have are way better and more comfortable
It's important to me to have a remote shutter trigger for the phone's camera, and this is, apparently, the only way to get that on the S21 (which I'm planning on purchasing).
You might be able to find a case that the S-Pen Pro will fit into for storage.
It is kind of annoying that you have to charge it separately though. They should have at least given it wireless charging ability so your phone could automatically charge it via Wireless PowerShare or you could wirelessly charge it at the same time as your phone.
I have a Fresh N Rebel selfie stick that has a Bluetooth paired picture taking function. Thus the button, that functions like a wireless camera shot taking remote. So there are other options available, albeit, somewhat less portable than the S Pen Pro. This is rather useful for stable camera moon shots taken at high zoom with my S21 Ultra, if phone is mounted independently from the selfie stick. This minimises shake and blur for the shot.
Where all the people who said the s pen pro is better than the note 20 ultra. It can fit in the fold. This look like a magic wand. I am glad I didn't trade my note 20 ultra for a fold 3 .

Agreed. I got the Fold SPen with a 3rd party case that works perfectly. I'll wait for them to drop the SPen Pro 2. Hopefully that one will be smaller and charge wirelessly.

Nice idea but sorry it's not as good as the note pen. The note pen is smaller and it charges in your phone. Not too many people are going to walk around carrying a charger for their fold or S21 Ultra pen. It just shows that we should wait for the new fold because it will probably be more practical and omg that crease in the middle, c'mon Samsung get rid of the crease already

@@buddhistelder4731 S22 Ultra will have a built-in S Pen slot, a boxy design, the biggest display, the best specs, and a different camera design from the S22 and S22+. Regardless of what it will be called, it's a Note. S22 and S22+ are traditional S series phones, while S22 Ultra is the Note. S22 Ultra is a Note in all but name.
@@davidugono3727 it will have a smaller 6.8in screen, it will have the slower sd898 processor and the s21 ultra spen will never fit in the housing, the s series has always been the curve design, and it would confuse consumers if they had two curved and the other boxy, but I guess noone ever said Samsung mobile was intelligent

And are the bigger stylus size (for comfort) and a little less lag (for responsiveness) really the only added values??? I bought the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra for digital art and although copying and pasting across devices is handy I could not care less for those extra features, I only care for the drawing experience... I love the standard S-Pen I didn't even know there was a pro version of the S-Pen... so cough up 100 dollars for that would it really be worth it? 🤔
