Dude it’s laughable that their biggest most expensive phone doesn’t come with a spen built in it or even one at all when the cheaper s24 ultra has one built in, I get the S2 four ultra is their current flagship model but it’s still selling for cheaper than the fold five and it’s smaller like it has a big screen but you can’t convince me that the fold doesn’t need it more I mean it’s literally a mini tablet that’s made for multitasking, how did they not include a pen is beyond me. And the pen sits inside the S24 ultra just like it did on some notes but you’re telling me even with two sides to the phone there’s not enough space to put a pen inside the fold? I think they didn’t include because they were convinced they would sell a lot of them to fold users and probably wouldn’t sell that to the series users since they are flat phones. they expect us to want the pen with our tablets so they sold them to make more money
And not a patch on the hold and aesthetics type, u use on the S21 ultra pen...the fold one is like holding a MATCHSTICK 😂 And there going for stupid money... Pros the one to go
This is the biggest disappointment that I have with my Fold 5. I upgraded from Note 9. The S Pen came with it and the phone has a slot to keep the pen. Also, I was able to take photos with the S Pen and it was really useful. The Pen was really thin as well. Samsung could have just added the S Pen with the Fold 5 :(
Im sorry to break it to you my man but the real world doesn't work like that. You can't just will things into existence. This is not a regular phone, it's truly high frontier tech stuff, that hinge takes a lot of space in the inside of the phone. They'd have to sacrifice something else to fit it, like battery. I think they got a great solution with that case, I just haven't gotten mine yet because since I plan to write a lot idk if I should go for the bigger pens, but then I loose on portability.. I'll loose that 100$ pen if I just leave it hanging in my pockets 😭 anyone's got good advice on that? Ive never had an s pen so idk how the small one feels for writing.

The only reason why I do that is I keep one with my case so I never forget to bring it with me and one on my working desk. So one travel pen, one desk pen. The bluetooth functions are not necessary to me. As an old school Note series user, I am glad I did not pick up the habit of air command, as I have seen how ridiculous it looks when some Harry Potters were waving it like a wand during lectures. However, that size does look like it's pretty nice to hold. I might get it as my desk pen if I have the spare money. Conclusion: If you are only going to have one pen, make it the one you can put in the case because the best pen is the one that you have with you.
@@channelMasterGuiGame nahh. The guy is right for the price of this phone they could have just added it for an extra 10 or $20 as compensation add on. The fact that this phone opens up like a tablet you should be able to take notes like if it was a tablet, simple. And they don't even have to make the pain fit into the phone they could have just added it on the side. Shit with a price this thing cause they should just add a slim thin case that has a pen holder already. This literally would cost them nothing to add those things. I chose the S Pen Pro over the Fold Edition because the S pen Pro has Bluetooth functionality just like the regular S pens found in Galaxy Note/S series phones. I care about having the Bluetooth functionality because I'm a pretty avid S Pen user and when I do use the S Pen, I frequently use the different air actions/motion gestures to control features on apps and navigate the phone. Yea it's a bit inconvenient not being able to place it into the phone anymore or into the Z Fold 4/5 S pen cases but honestly it doesn't matter to me. It's a compromise I'm willing to deal with. The hardest choices require the strongest wills. I just stick the S Pen Pro in my pocket, the same pocket I carry my phone in. Whenever I want to use the S Pen; Take the S Pen Pro out of my pocket, take the Fold4 out, unfold it, boom that's it. Same for when I'm done with it; fold up the Fold 4, put it in my pocket, put the S Pen Pro in my pocket, done. Also it's not like I used the pen literally every single time when I had my my Note20 Ultra and I think the same can be said for a lot of avid S pen users. I used it at least four to five days every week but I only used it a few times within a single day. It's the convenience I'm now losing but again, it's a compromise I'm willing to accept and deal with. Finally, I know for sure I've ended up preferring the larger S Pen Pro over the small and thin standard pen. The S Pen Pro being longer and more rounded makes It more comfortable to hold and use for longer periods of time. Honestly, using the S Pen Pro with the Z Fold4 is pretty much the Galaxy Note experience but better. The larger pen combined with the larger display with so much more screen area for writing, drawing, etc has been such a better experience for me than it already was with my Note20 Ultra. Within the 11 months I've had the Fold4/S Pen Pro, I certainly now use the S Pen even more than I already was with the Note20 Ultra. I literally use it 98% of the time I use the phone. Also I never feel any dip when writing across the crease of the Fold4 so that's a plus. Obviously it's your decision whether to get the S Pen Pro or get the fold edition pen for the convienence of storing it in a case. I just thought I would at least share how I've transitioned my S Pen experience going from a Note to Fold. Just throwing out an option to consider.

Got my ZF5 through the pre-order and have been consuming these videos because they are so helpful. One thing someone mentioned was don't press the slim s-pen too hard on the inner screen because it might leave a mark since the tip doesn't retract. Can anyone speak to this from experience? I'm not stabbing the screen when I write but will obviously be gently pressing against the screen. Has anyone had any issues with that with what they would consider "normal" pressure?
4:06 All of those features work with any of the Fold-compatible S Pens. The only features limited to the S Pen Pro are those under the Air Actions menu.
When the fold just came out in my country, the protector with the thin Spen was about $50, I thought that was the normal price and now I see that I was lucky to buy it.
Thank you for the video but I'm gravitated towards the standard Spen on the fold 3/4. The fold 5 and S23 Ultra Spen is just too small, it dosn't give me the comfort to write like I would write with a wooden pencil on paper. I have the Note 20 Ultra but planning to upgrade to the Z fold 5 during Black Friday deals! I like the compact size of the Z fold 3's standard black Spen. Not really interested in the pro edition because I barely use the Air actions on my Note 20 Ultra which I've owned since mid 2021.
I think that S Pen Pro has added features for editing photos and videos other two lens do not do. That's why I bought it. The gesture thing is a gimmick I couldn't care less about.

Been enjoying my S Pen Pro with my Z Fold5, way over the Slim S Pen, though latter is nicer when in bed with my phone. Been using the S Pen Pro since S21 Ultra, so Air Gestures and remote Bluetooth camera operation works flawlessly, and same experience with my new Z Fold5! Only downside, in regards to S Pen features, is that the Z Fold5 does not have S Pen support on the front screen. If I want to write on-screen memos whilst Always-On Display is on (aka screen is off), first I have to unfold the phone, switch the screen off, activate on-screen mode with any Fold compatible S Pen, pin the note, then close the phone. (I have used this feature religiously for grocery shopping for over three years via S21 Ultra, so need to adjust and get used to the Z Fold5 for a similar experience). Otherwise, love the fold-compatible S Pen experience on such a massive screen!
Should i go for pro or the one with the case? I want to write a lot and i never used an s pen but that thing looks really small to write properly, on the other hand having a loose pen $100 pen in my pockets will mowt likely result in me loosing itt. No. Unfortunately the z fold lineup simply doesn't allow for front/cover screen interactions with ANY pen...only the for the inner display. Hopefully it will be available on the fold 6

Picked up an Spen Pro comes next week. Did you have to do any intial setups on your zfold5 for Bluetooth stuff to work? Or everything works out of the box?
there's a lot of zfold compatible pens on amazon, aince fold spen mini don't have bluetooth, are there any advatages of sticking with Samsung branded s-pens?
Besides being neon ugly, the slim pen is easily damaged, as I found out 5 seconds after trying to put it back into the case. It also does not work consistently with my Tab S8 Ultra. So I have to use two Samsung stylii, not including my Apple Pen and a generic rubber-tipped stylus. Four damn stylus pens. It seems too difficult for companies to cooperate and come up with a standard stylus and simultaneously reduce waste
Does the new Slim S Pen also with older generations of the Fold? Because it advertised as a Fold 5 Product only. On the side I would still like to use it because for my taste I find the Fold Edition and the Pro a little Bit too thick.
As far as the big s spen, the Bluetooth one, does it fit in those fold 5 cases that can hold s pens? I'm not talking about the Samsung brand case with that skinny pen. I'm talking like spigen, etc that can hold s pens on its slot on sides or slot under hinge protector
Quite funny that they don't bring the Bluetooth capabilities to the smaller s pens. S pens have had Bluetooth action since note 9 but they can't bring bring it to any normal sized pens for the folds, after all these years 😂

I hope you can answer this question because i am not sure what s pen edition you were using. There is S pen edition and there is s pen fold5 edition. I want to know if the s pen edition (non-fold5) works with fold 5.

In Hk there is a 50% discount for s pen pen pro, so that is is much cheaper than fold 5 pen. should 1 buy s pen pro for usage in fold 5? For Spen pro can I use remote function eg take photo, when I use the small screen?
It's crazy how this video just starts with misinformation. The spen fold edition DOES NOT WORK ON SAMSUNG TABLETS OR SMARTPHONES OTHER THAN THE FOLD SERIES! It will be in permanent eraser mode (button held).
just imagine case with pen that can charge s pen with battery thru back coil of the phone :D to have same features like ultra or pro pen xD xD, I just hope smaller pro pen which can be stored in spigen case and its BT and you can charger it via back of the phone. daaamn thas would be useful.

Thank you for the review. Samsung is not very forthcoming about the pen features. With your video I have confirmed that I will be losing the S-Pen photo taking capabilities that I have on my Galaxy S22. Not to mention the telephoto I have to give up if I were to trade my S22. I'd stick with my S22 and make arrangements to return the Fold5 that I ordered and received. I know, samsung cannot please everyone.
It's their 5th generation of galaxy folds yet they didn't figured it out or I'd rather say not giving a proper sylo or house inside the actual folding phone itself. and it's annoying, annoying for me atleast, right now I'm on z fold 2 and still waiting for this very reason for me upgrading to what in my prospective should be like just i described. A true notebook slyle folding phone should be.
@@TheAverageTechGuy No it doesn't. Try drawing in Samsung Notes. Try using text select (this seems to work in some apps but not others where the standard S Pen worked fine). Try opening the Air Command menu.
@joon0 I stand corrected. It doesn't work fully, but it still works. It won't write but will navigate, erase, and you can use the doodle feature on pics.
The big question that it seems nobody is answering. If you have a fold 3 or 4 does the new slim spen works? If so i know they will eventually make aftermarket cases for them.
Those S pen prices are too high! As expensive as the Fold 5 is, an S pen should be included.
Best Buy drops the price of the slim case S pen to $49.99. The price fluctuates from day to day. Normally $99.99, but I got 2 for that price.

Besides being neon ugly, the slim pen is easily damaged, as I found out 5 seconds after trying to put it back into the case. It also does not work consistently with my Tab S8 Ultra. So I have to use two Samsung stylii, not including my Apple Pen and a generic rubber-tipped stylus. Four damn stylus pens. It seems too difficult for companies to cooperate and come up with a standard stylus and simultaneously reduce waste

Does the new Slim S Pen also with older generations of the Fold? Because it advertised as a Fold 5 Product only. On the side I would still like to use it because for my taste I find the Fold Edition and the Pro a little Bit too thick.

As far as the big s spen, the Bluetooth one, does it fit in those fold 5 cases that can hold s pens? I'm not talking about the Samsung brand case with that skinny pen. I'm talking like spigen, etc that can hold s pens on its slot on sides or slot under hinge protector

Quite funny that they don't bring the Bluetooth capabilities to the smaller s pens. S pens have had Bluetooth action since note 9 but they can't bring bring it to any normal sized pens for the folds, after all these years 😂

I hope you can answer this question because i am not sure what s pen edition you were using. There is S pen edition and there is s pen fold5 edition. I want to know if the s pen edition (non-fold5) works with fold 5.
It has to specify Fold to work with any Fold. If not you will get a error on the screen

Thank you for the review. Samsung is not very forthcoming about the pen features. With your video I have confirmed that I will be losing the S-Pen photo taking capabilities that I have on my Galaxy S22.
Not to mention the telephoto I have to give up if I were to trade my S22.
I'd stick with my S22 and make arrangements to return the Fold5 that I ordered and received.

It's their 5th generation of galaxy folds yet they didn't figured it out or I'd rather say not giving a proper sylo or house inside the actual folding phone itself. and it's annoying, annoying for me atleast, right now I'm on z fold 2 and still waiting for this very reason for me upgrading to what in my prospective should be like just i described. A true notebook slyle folding phone should be.

@@TheAverageTechGuy No it doesn't. Try drawing in Samsung Notes. Try using text select (this seems to work in some apps but not others where the standard S Pen worked fine). Try opening the Air Command menu.
@joon0 I stand corrected. It doesn't work fully, but it still works. It won't write but will navigate, erase, and you can use the doodle feature on pics.
The big question that it seems nobody is answering. If you have a fold 3 or 4 does the new slim spen works? If so i know they will eventually make aftermarket cases for them.
