I've been collecting Digimon for the past 2 years and i've been addicted to all of them since, it's actually a rediscovery for me. I first discovered Digimon after running a few tamagotchi so i was familiar with the similarities and the connections to the tamagotchi, i don't remember ever making that connection to Pokémon even from the anime that a lot of people made at the time, i feel this connection mostly came from the fact that people at the time were pretty simple minded and never realized that in Japan raising critters and fighting them had been a thing since forever and in the west anything they find that resembles something else more popular automatically makes it a rip off, doesn't matter if on a deeper inspection was in fact completely different, Agumon was a rip off of Pikachu even if it was clear even from scenes where they are seen fighting in the city and causing damage to buildings and the city, they had more in common with daikaiju like Godzilla, Gamera, etc than the wild animals Pokémon were supposed to be. But honestly i don't really care much for the anime, to me Digimon is all about the Vpets and the games that take after the Vpets.
I pre-ordered the Ghost game VB . I've got some minis and 20th anniversaries. I think the English X1 might be my favorite for now. I hope Bandai will make more English devices in the future
My favorit(and the hardest one) is the Pendulum X... Shame on Bandai for not releasing it again, making the price so fkn nuts... I have just the first Red V1. A close second is the Pendulum 20th, also expensive as hell thanks to Bandai... Again. And Digimon X2/X3 is third because it have a fantastic gameplay. I wish Bandai bring us some nice V-pets next year. Oh, and thanks for this video.. Hope you do more content about Digimon V-pets and Digivices, there are a LOT of devices nobody talks about.

You raise a very good question! So the Digivice is exactly that, a Digivice. Which is technically different from the Virtual Pet, so all Digimon devices are split into two main categories, Virtual Pets and Digivices.. That's why I didn't include them. Maybe l do a seperate video on the Digivice history later 😃
