I like your videos, they are very informative, I would suggest to you hitting up special books by special friends, he interviews all kinds of people with stories that deserve to be heard and I am sure you two would be get along and become friends.
Great video with nice editing. I've always put hand controls on everything over the years. Cars, trucks, vans and last year we even got hand controls on our rv. PS And we caught alot of rugby games in the paralympics last summer....very cool for you.
Thanks so much! How did the RV hand controls go? I feel like it would be difficult to get in and out of without some help or a lift. I'm glad you guys tuned in for the games!
I drive an El Camino with Mennox hand controls and a Bruno hoist in the back. It's aging, so currently transferring everything to a VE Jetta that is converted to a Smyth Ute.
I have a second car that I do break the chair down when driving, but I try not to drive it a ton. The El Camino is not super comfortable and not very reliable, unfortunately.
Finally!! I’ve been looking for a video like this! I’m trying to get a car with hand controls but I’m not sure where to purchase them. I’ve seen some websites that sell them, I’m just worried they might not be safe to buy online. Where did you get yours?
I have always gone through local mobility dealerships. I'm sure you would have success with that approach. Don't forget you'll need someone to help install them which is not trivial!
I've owned MANY cars in 29 yrs as a paraplegic. My favorites: 93 Ford Mustang (still have it it since 95) 5.0 LX Coupe. Hand controls on right side of wheel. 91 Eagle Talon Turbo TSI AWD. A real blast to drive in the snow 99 and 01 Buick Regal GS/SUPERCHARGED. I've owned several Buick powered 4 door cars. A little more challenging to get in & out of but VERY reliable. I'll do a into/out of car video soon myself. Please check out and sub to my channel under my name as I have yours. lol you do a much better job than me.

That's a slick ride! Have you always used a hoist and not had to deal with breaking down your chair?
