I am currently reading Knife of Sorrows and loving it! That cover is also sooooo good! And heck yes for Soul Cage, I think that might be a 5-star for you honestly! Also can't wait to hear your thoughts on Foul Days and Children of Gods and Fighting Men, hope they are hits for you! Happy reading ;)
Oh man what a haul - I’m a bit jealous on the Gentlemen Bastards specials, but luckily I don’t have to pine after the deluxe Dragon Mage since I got one for myself! That’s the coolest book I own now!
Great haul as always! I finished Soul Cage a few weeks ago and definitely grew into it. It's an interesting premise. The battle scenes are like some fantasy version of green lantern comics and were a lot of fun visualising. I'm almost done with Riven Earth book 1 by Zammar Ahmer and think I might try Seeds of War by Joao F Silva next given it's been sat in my TBR for months now. I'm also just waiting for Robs J Hayes new trilogy hardbacks to arrive as I was a backer. That's definitely going to keep me going probably to the end of August, certainly if Gunmetal Gods special edition arrives too.

Amazing!! I lost count on the many books i liked! Primal fury looks coool. The fall of gients wins favoret cover. Dragon mage!! Dang wish i had this edition. I reeeely liked suficiently advanced magic, its a chame is not a stand alone, but temting. I hope foul days has a special edition, then il concider it. Falures looks awsome to i loooove blame!. Great haul! That dragon mage book looks amazing, I saw the KS for that but couldn't justify dropping $$ for a book I don't know i'll like, so i'll just admire it from my screen. I feel like special edition books from things like kickstarter and those from book subs shouldn't be in the same category. i got a bunch of TBB books to see what it's all about and i was slightly disappointed to find that they're just the standard editions, but with foiled boards and sprayed edges (still not a big fan of sprayed edges). i've got it in my head that smyth sewn binding should be the minimum for "special edition" books. idk if sub only books would be better tho. meanwhile, the books i got from KS/backerkit are amazing.
Thank you so much! The way I see it, there has always been multiple levels of special editions. Many Kickstarter campaigned books, such as Wraithmarked's, are on a level above Broken Binding. Broken Binding does have their own press of high-end special edition in the form of The Broken Binding Press, though.
LOVE that edition of Sufficiently Advanced Magic! I hope you get to Weapons & Wielders as I find that spin-off prequel even better than Arcane Ascension. What a book haul!! I'm really glad that you are receiving some beautiful editions when you are directly involved in directing artwork for editions that all of us will enjoy coming soon!

I saw Goodreads reviews that said if you dont know about Irish history or Gaelic lore you might not like The Children of Gods and Fighting Men. I think that is a silly thought process. Most fantasy series could be described as an author's fictional mythology or an author's fictional history and lore. I read The Sons of Darkness with that thought process. I told myself not to view it as Indian mythology or a retelling of the mahabharata (because I knew nothing about it going in); I simply read it like it was any other fantasy book, a fictional world, fictional ppl with a fictional magic system. This worked for me at least. So I recommend not getting caught up the odd/unfamiliar names and simply read it as any other fantasy book.
Oh absolutely! That's a really thought process. I mean, it would be so restrictive if certain knowledge are required first to enjoy a particular historical fiction or fantasy series! :D
