When are some of the greedy game companies going to learn that in order to make money you need to actually make a good product and treat your customers not like they’re idiots? I hope their finances give them a wake up call to actually make a change and try something new that doesn’t involve forcing horses and shopping sprees on us. (Cuz that isn’t working). Instead give us meaningful content we can get lost in. Give us quests that we will love. They have talented game designers and artists and coders- they can do it if you let them Star Stable. Otherwise, this will end up with Star Stable crashing and burning. (Also, I hope they take notes from the likes of Baulder’s Gate 3, Ranch of Rivershine, Genshin Impact, Elden Ring, and other excellent games like that.) I would like Star Stable to be a tale of how to turn a game around rather than a cautionary one.
Absolutely! Being inspired by other games can help you grow and better your game and with social media you have access to your community unlike in the past and it helps with feedback if only they'd listen a bit more than they have been.
This sucks ... I thought they were on a roll after hollow woods and the quests and minigame to unlock the unicorns. I loved camp western and even the new christmas events. I thought "the rainbow fest is bad this year, but whatever, I'm sure they'll make another fun thing to do in the fall" I had no idea they were one bad event away from collapse. I watched rattle's video too, and I really hope they wake up soon. Despite everything, they're still one of the best big horse games and I would be sad if they closed down.
I don't think sse should've started the game projects when they did. They should've focused on making the game bugfree and getting a good writer on team who understands the characters (so that the quest we get is good even if we get as much as we get now) And if they manage to keep the numbers good they could then decide to start a new project. But not the other way around
They used to! They used to have tshirts, jewelry, gift cards for lifetime sr and sc, PILLOWS, blankets, TACK, I’ve actually still got an sso shirt from way back when the store launched! It obviously no longer fits but I’ll keep it forever as a memory of what was sso, I’ve also got one of their pillows and a Christmas lifetime gift card

NO clue, they would do good with horse plushies, like it would be a wide range product even for people who do not play sso. instead they make a game for kids and then sell candles, where a kid really wouldn't give a damn

Fully fucking agreed. I notice that with the quest to and was rightfully pissed off. You know I could very well stop playing sso and play Alicia online, which is FULLY free and has a teeny bit more content (the races always are different and can be fun) and I could have fun in a guild there. Yer I don’t, I run a club on this dying game that is somehow thriving, all of us in the club only really get on for practices or to hangout. The only reason sso is still alive is because of clubs, even if it’s only for an hour for practices or events.
I really wish SSO had more stuff for clubs, I don't have one but outside of Champs the next best thing to do is club work whatever that may be and if they had more community tasks for clubs in game and content the clubs would get more out of it and people would be on more.
If sso would sell stickers I would buy them ngl. And also I remember, that when I was kid (I didn't even play sso back then) they sell some notebooks, pencils etc. I still have sso ruler! But see, even people who don't play sso would buy things like that, because they are useful in daily life

i agree with the rest of this video entirely, but the comparison to genshin in terms of main story quests and pokemon in terms of bugs are not the best in my opinion. i'm not trying to act like star stable entertainment is five people with a passion project, far from it, but the company is still a lot smaller than many realize. i absolutely think there should be more main story quests, and i do think there should be more tweaking//bug fixes, but the same output that companies as massive as mihoyo and nintendo are just not feasible.
Game freak which is behind the pokemon games have 200 people that work on them plus another 100 as testers SSO has 200 employees working on SSO that seems like a valid comparison. As for genshin They have 5k, but, the team behind Hoyoverses original game Honkai Impact 3rd, was 7 people and has blossomed into what is now Hoyoverse and their 3 almost 4 core games, Honkai Impact 3rd is as old as SSO by the way started in 2012. These are fair comparison when we consider this is what SSE could be, they could grow their company with the right choices and proper financial management. Also I wasn't comparing sso to pokemon, I was saying old pokemon games didn't have nearly as many bugs as now which has become common place across the board for nearly every single big title these days. @@huntermoonhearthcorrection on my part, nintendo owns 1/3 of pokemon*, im talking a lot about genshin here because it is also a live service game while pokemon games (with some exceptions) are not. when i say this i'm not trying to pretend star stable has made wise financial decisions//decisions that could help their company grow and flourish, and they've shot themselves in the foot more times than i can count. however, as you mentioned in the video, horse games are very much a niche. its not until now that theres a small "boom" in them because people are realizing there could be money in the "horse game market", with bella sara being an exception and ahead of its time with how popular it was. "anime" rpgs (i know that mihoyo is a chinese company, thats just what their games are often advertised as and for lack of a better term) are infinitely more appealing to the general gaming audience. while star stable's team could be larger if they weren't so dysfunctional as a company, i don't think there could have been quite the same force behind it compared to a game like genshin. even if they turn around present day, or an entirely new horse game takes off, the market is just too niche to realistically see that same output, in my opinion.
I’m very disappointed in SSO right now thinking for the rainbow festival that we would want to stand afk at a disco. It’s funny but in a very sad way 😂😅😢 I really want them to turn this around but now I am really not sure, especially if they will do the same things for Christmas and Halloween. Guess we will have to see huh. I am so sad for rainbow festival and cloud kingdom. It gave me a reason to log in every day. Now it’s either sit bored or train and I’m sorry it’s just depressing.
Merging servers is a great idea! I would even argue they should consider adding the option of moving regions. It would make making friends or participating in clubs easier and therefore there would be more in-game engagement. As someone who is an immigrant, I would love to have the option to hop between my motherland's server where my account is, and my current home's. I would play so much more and it would even help me with the language! I would hate to start a new account because I have been playing for 8 years. Plus there are the current prices- I bought my lifetime star rider with allowance for 32 USD!! 80 USD isn't worth it. Although I wish this would happen, I know it never will. I asked Star Stable about it many times and they said this is a feature they aren't considering. But I do think there is a way to do it and I would like to share my idea: SSO stated that they are working on a name change feature for characters (which is awesome because I currently despise the name I gave my character), and that could be a way to implement region change. Because if the problem with region changes is the fact that they do not want people to have the same names (even though I never heard of that happening before), they could stop that from happening by a single pop-up. For example, when you want to change regions there would be a text reading: "This name is already taken on X region. Are you sure you would like to continue?" Then if you click yes, you can change your name. Voilà! Of course, one needs to consider how name-changing would affect the player when they want to move back. But in my opinion that could be solved by keeping the old name in reserve for a certain amount of days or 1-2 weeks. When the time is up someone else can take it. I know this takes a bit of coding, and adding new names while SSO is already a mess, but hey- One can dream. ps.: Love your videos.
9:50 reminds me of the currently ongoing problem which was the release of wuthering waves, it came out really laggy and with very poor optimization, and rather than postponing the release to work on bugs and lags the devs most likely worked over time to fix the issue, compensating players for issues every now and then, which is very saddening to see, i wish for the time where workers have more time to fix things up rather than having been pressured both by the company itself AND players who are annoyed by not being able to play properly, Great video
Yes I was there for WuWa on release and they were generous with compensation, it is sad to see devs having to rush for release instead of putting time into their game, but they did do their best to fix things even just bare minimum and the community seems to have a decent connection with them so far because they scrambled to fix things instead of waiting for the next big update.

And i have soo many ideas on how sso could improve and add in order to not only keep players engaged, but even get more people into playing and buying this game
Also, doing merch is a great way to passively advertise. I don't know why they're haven't invested in this, especially since it's such a niche-interest game (compared to WoW and Black Desert).

I had missed the cloud kingdom and its questline last year due to other things, and this was one of the few things I was excited about! I genuinely wanted to give SSO the benefit of the doubt, that *maybe* they were going to release the cloud kingdom this year, they were just late. You can imagine the disapointment I felt that they weren't going to(Then again I've been constantly disappointed by them as of late MINUS the hollow woods, I genuinely enjoyed the hollow woods) At this point I'm hoping there's more fantasy-esc open world horse games(And horse games in general) that will fill in the hole and maybe give SSE a wake up call. They're doing nothing but driving their loyal fanbase farther away and digging their own grave

I would personally like to see lead ropes and more interesting Qests and a ending to the mist Fall series Or mabey even more interesting Animated series for each of the areas just like the mist Fall series but different themes for each of the areas. I can’t understand why starstable Just canceled this series Just because. Um What
I do think they have so much potential to be a good game but like I have said before they are a poorly run company. waited and still waiting for SSO to make more content. The events are truly the only time I spend a good amount of time in the game. This last "rainbow festival", using that loosely btw is just a spend fest. I am really just not caring anymore, and this is SSO's biggest problem, people just stop caring. It's difficult to get people to return to a game after they have disappointed for so long.

I asked Rattle herself if it was ok,I am strapped for time atm between a few things and between the script, editing and recording with extra things going on irl it was just easier this way so I didn't have to add more to the editing with more screenshots like I normally do.
