With many of the more exciting portions of Zion closed on our trip (July 2020), I decided to do this hike based on your recommendation. Started just before sunrise and half-ran, half hiked all the way to the Grotto. It was my first time doing anything like true trail running. Absolutely stunning views, very few people for the first 10 miles, and total time of 4:03. Thanks for the vid - you inspire my trips west.
We love your channel !! We are a small family that does the biggest adventures we can. The insane days and miles and dangerous adventures you guys are doing is inspiring. When my son is older we will conquer more and bigger ! It gets our adventure bone tingling lol 🙂😀
"I was awoken by our smell", yeah I've been out trail running and I a like - I smell some wild animals, probably some elk, then when I am done and back in the truck, that awful wild animal smell was myself. Hilarious.
Love the videos guys, they me want to move to Utah. Norcal is great but you seem so close to so many epic areas. Headed to Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the Grand Canyon in April. Your videos make me even more excited for the trip.
they were walking backwards to use different muscles in their legs...i do it often when ur doing a steep incline or doing many vertical switchbacks; just gives the calves a break and u use ur thigh muscles more
Great video guys. I'll be out there in September doing this exact trail. To save the drive up to Lava Point, any suggestions on the best way to get there?
There is another way to hit the same trail without driving as much. You can take the Kolob Terrace Road to the trail head of Wildcat Canyon. Then take Wildcat over to the west rim trail. It will add some miles to your run but it will reduce your drive time. Also, I can't vouch for the difficulty of the wildcat section of this route. Last time I was on it was High School. Hope this helps.
What month was this? Heading there in March and I after watching this I'm thinking to down would be the most enjoyable. But, damn, I don't want to sleep in three puffies!
sweetmomma pea I think it was in March. The weather is just unpredictable down there. You could go and be too hot or end up freezing. Either way it is awesome
since they cant answer one damn question, once they got to the lodge they either had a friend take them back to their car which can be about an hour because of the road u take to get back to the top if im not mistaken they started at lava point or there is a place called zion outfitters that can give u a ride back up there for like 25 dollars a person ..sorry no one answered ur question sooner if ur still on youtube :)
My wife wants to know if you have no shame in calling yourselves "Mediocre Amateurs" because when she watches me watching you on UA-cam, she claims there is no resemblance to "Mediocracy" or "Amateurs". Blame my wife, I think your handle is a clever hook...worked for me.

The dry humor alone is worth paying for

Great video again. I ran that same trail 3 years ago and had the same feeling about amazing views. I want to do Zions Traverse at some point.
I think the traverse would be awesome. I've always wanted to do it.
Crazy gorgeous views, I'm definitely going to have to add this to my list of places to visit. Thanks for sharing as always guys :)
you guys are still Killin it...as always great video...I was just up there a few weeks ago.
I love these guys.

M Irvine thank you
If I had a digereedo, I'd digereedo in the morning, I'd digereedo in the evening, all over this land
How long did it take you to jog this? Planning on it next week with my sisters.
lol i just backpacked this, can't imagine running the whole thing!
Where was the car at the finish line parked? I want to do this but logistically I don't know the details with how the shuttle system works
4:38 Were those two people really walking up the trail backwards? WTF?

If Danny and Blizz actually did Angel’s Landing, I imagine they would ignore the chains and blitz past everyone one the way up and back 😂
hiked angels landing in mid november 2017 and barely saw anybody and the weather was great! only time to hike it in my opinion

Much thanks for the feedback. I'll work this from a couple different angles to see what option makes the most sense logistically.

As a sprinter I'm always jealous of people who can trail run the whole route. I gas out too fast :(
So, so pretty!
4:21 - Walter's Wiggles!
If I had what it took, I'd be one of those ants ascending that famous rock.... again, what is it you dislike about humens?
Crowds suck
