@@ShiitakeWarrior Many players and makers refer to levels as kaizo due to the difficult techniques that are often attributed to edited levels, so Leah is sorta right here.
@@maggoteer948 Just one problem: The meaning of the word, "kaizo", has _absolutely nothing_ to do with difficulty. (As other sources have already explained, "kaizo" is a Japanese word which means "reorganise", "restructure" or "reconstruct". There is no reference to difficulty in the definition.) Also, the only courses in SMM and SMM2 that can _truly_ be defined as "kaizo" are courses made by a Maker that are basically edited versions of courses which that same maker has already put together. (Labelled as alternate or even unique courses, depending on the number of alterations made and whether or not the nature of the course has been changed.)
@@arthurmelo3022 Actually, it came into the Super Mario scene _long before_ SMM was ever a thing. (Nevertheless, going by its literal definition, there isn't really any way to apply it in SMM since there is no hacking involved.)

If there ever is a way to upload Multiplayer exclusive levels, we need to add 2 Course Clear conditions: 1. Reach the goal while carrying another Player. 2. Reach the goal after defeating Players X times. If we can find a way for Volleyball to defeat whichever player lets the ball hit the ground, that would be fun!
Arthur Zinani What if there is no back wall, or at least a big hole low behind each player? Add a method that tells when a player is defeated and gives a key, and add a key door below the net?
If it's not too much to ask, could you consider a video for ideas with ice coins? For some reason that's one of my favorite mechanics from SMB3 and it made me so happy they came back in SMM2!
Great video! Spikes and spike balls just keep getting better and better. I have three suggestions and tips: 6:20 I'm not sure if spikes activate POW blocks from above but if they do, you could make the platform Luigi is standing on made of POW blocks for extra challenge to try not to make the spike balls reach the floor! 7:56 An arrow pointing downward signalling to downward thrust on the spike ball (or any other kind of hint) would be great because I (and probably others) wouldn't know what to do here. 8:25 This is a cool idea but the example shown looks boring to play through. (It seems like more of a bonus room example to me but it's still sort of jaded.) You could combine the gimmick with projectile hazards or bosses like Bowser to make for a more interesting challenge.
@@TheDarkThief692 Yup, it's via the use of a twister. There's a variety of objects that interact this way with the twister underneath the lava's surface. For example, try using stumps from a Chain Chomp and see what happens. ;) It works with any liquid actually.
Anyone remember the good ol days in New Super Mario Bros. DS? Well, if you want to relive your childhood then try out my recreation of NSMB World 2-Castle! ID: W88-F24-X7G P.s: I believe 2-castle was the first level and game that introduced the spike ball
I have an idea that you can use: place two pipes spitting spike balls (or that enemy) on one side, and then place the Boom Boom on the other side with 4 mats replacing the floor. You need to dodge the spike balls by making them hit the Boom Boom / Bowser, and it will give you a key to proceed. You can make it difficult with fireballs, hammer bro, dry bones and other things. USE IT PLEASE ☺
You should do a full video on the spike ball thrower because I’ve already thought of a few ideas 1. You can use the spike ball thrower in one of the themes as like a guard of a hill by putting it in the hill with 1 way doors at each side and a little tunnel leading to both sides and in the specific theme when he throws he’ll walk away and then in the direction of you. 2. You can put him in a way where you can’t damage him but he can throw his spikes balls out and then make them come back around so they go to the left the n bounce to the right underneath and come all the way around to hit you again. 3. In the night theme he can basically summon shadow Mario’s with his homing spiked balls.
Say, about the bonus idea, how could I make it so that, when the ball hits the floor, that player loses? I also want to replace the P-switch with a spring, so that’s one problem less.
The bonus level is more popularly known as the fire fighting game & watch from the 80's where you bounce people falling off the building to the other side of the screen
Who else doesn’t like how the spike balls are blue in the SMW style? Not only are those not the purple tinted blues available in the original game’s palettes, but there were actually spike balls in SMW in the form of ball ‘n chains. Those spike balls were light gray. The texture’s also completely different, but there’s not much they can do now that it’s been released.
A better way to do the Luigi Jones is to have it so that you go into a tunnel, go through traps, find a pedestal with a P-switch. P-switch, when pressed, releases spike ball which you must, of course, run from. While it chases you, it will eventually fall a bit and break blocks, revealing a new path.
Idea #6 could work with shells if you set three brick blocks instead of two and put a muncher or blaster on the last one. Then, when the third shell breaks the block, the blaster or muncher would fall onto the P-Switch!
Dunno if it's in the video, but in one level of mine (actually my first one) I've made what amounts to a breakout clone using springs on the on/off conveyor belt.
Unrelated, but they should add blue coins, green coins, and purple coins, so you can make players collect maybe 2 colored coins for low difficulty in a choose your path level, and 6~ for the harder path, and they can be separately counted
