Thanks very much for this detailed review and comparison. There’s definitely some weirdness with Yihua’s product numbering.
My unit from Amazon is labelled just “995D+”, but it’s identical to your 995D+I in every respect, including the weight. It was advertised as “995D+ EVO” with 110W power, and it heats up as quickly as yours: roughly 12 seconds from room temperature to 300°C.
The iron is the K917C and the stand is the same as yours. But the hot air gun is labelled R218B. The nozzles attach with screw the old-style clamps, and on the side of the base unit there are no screws to attach the nozzle rack. So in that respect it’s definitely not as good as your R218F with push-on nozzles - though as you say, the whole nozzle attachment system is a bit of a weak point.
Thanks for the review!
Very helpful to consider!
You will find that you generally will use one airgun tip. With the iron, we buy extrs shrouds and mount each tip in one. Here again, you tend to use one tip the most.
What style of tip do you use the most?
110w soldering iron for real ?
Or hakko fx 888d is better?
