Hands down the easiest collar video to follow. You even made putting on the finishing easy. I've seen videos where I had to rewind 100 x just to see how they did it! Thank you!
Easiest video to follow ever! Was already able to make 2 cute collars for my dog and I just learned how to use a sewing machine last week! Thanks for posting this!
Thank you! Thank you! i watched several tutorials before yours and I could not get the hang of threading the adjuster and fastener until I saw how you did it. I’ve done 2 now and feel confident. I really appreciate you taking the time to demo this. 😊
Would you say that with the webbing that the interfacing isn't needed? I'm new to sewing and just trying to understand. Also, how do dogs ruin the collar? Do they paw on it? Lastly, your dog is gorgeous. Love your thumbnail pic!
I prefer to interface even with the webbing so the cotton fabric isn't so thin that it is getting worn . It really makes the fabric more durable! She only ruins her collars by getting them dirty. She has no problem jumping in puddles, mud, you name it, lol. And thank you, she is the best dog!
Awesome tutorial! what kind of fabric did you use? I tried this and i think the fabric i used may have been too heavy and i struggled getting everything through the buckles and adjusters 🥲
where do you get your buckles from? I ordered mine as a set from Amazon and once I sew it together I cant get both pieces to go through the loops to adjust correctly. I have a small dog so I am using the 5/8" webbing, and using a thing sublimation webbing for the design part. Please help. I cant return to amazon and hoping I can find buckles that will still work. Thanks
Great tutorial! But I'm stuck on something. My friend wants me to make a collar with cheerio cereal fabric for her golden retriever that is a puppy right now but I don't know if I should make it now or wait until it's full grown or is there a way that I can make it long and adjustable so then she can use the same collar as it grows?
This is a great tutorial! Do you know, for a 1.5” width collar, how wide the fabric would have to be? (Would be using 1.5” width webbing on the inside)
This looks like it would be really difficult for a machine to sew through so many layers. I dont think my machine could handle it. Any tips? Do you use a special needle or something?
@@njcamocutie7085 I can't answer this with any certainty as I still haven't tried using the needles I ordered, but I got some Denim 100 and 110 needles after reading they should be suitable for getting through nylon webbing.
Sew cute! Great video! I have a ton of webbing and these would make great projects😁. I’m uneasy about using plastic clips, especially if larger, stronger dogs…do you have any suggestions for heavy duty metal buckle sets?
@@SincerelyJenPatterns how wide do I make the cotton fabric to accommodate 20mm or 3/4" webbing? My dog has a small neck so I opted for thinner webbing.
@@SincerelyJenPatterns okay thank you!! I picked up some gorgeous navy floral cotton from my local sewing shop, I thought it would make a lovely collar and bandana or bow for my dog ruby. Thankyou for such a clear tutorial!!

This is the best tutorial! I just finished a collar and it’s too cute! Thanks so much!
Thank you for your great tutorial! It looks complicated but you made it so easy! It’s so well explained.
Just came across your video and I have enjoyed it! I will use your tutorial. THANK YOU!
Thank you!
Great Tutorial. Thanks ever so much for sharing. This is one of the best dog collar tutorials I've seen. Easy to follow and understand.
Thank you for a great tutorial.
Great tutorial, thanks for the detailed descriptions and tips. Cant wait to try one for my pooch!
Excellent, must make one.
This is awesome! I never thought I could do this! Thanks!
Very nice. I had forgotten how to put in the hardware. Thanks for the tutorial.
Yes! I’m gonna make one now for my Marlee Mae!! ❤️
I’ll definitely try to make this one! With waterproof fabric! Thanks a lot!
Thanks. Love your great instructions
Great tutorial!!! Thank you for sharing!!
Rip to my dog Daisy. Such lovely ladies!
Aww, sorry about your Daisy! ♡
Awesome video,
Brilliant! Thank you.
what kind of sewing machine is that? great video

You mentioned wire adjuster to help feed fabric through glide. Please elaborate. I can’t get my fabric through the second time.
Awesome tutorial! what kind of fabric did you use? I tried this and i think the fabric i used may have been too heavy and i struggled getting everything through the buckles and adjusters 🥲
It was a relatively thin quilting cotton. Would definitely be difficult with anything heavier!
@@SincerelyJenPatterns great thank you!! i’ll definitely try that on the next collar! :)
What type of needle do you use so that it doesn't fray the webbing?
It is a ballpoint needle!
Hello Maam can uou please link where you buy the buckle and webbibg. Thank you so much
I just bought 1" webbing and 1" side clasp buckles on Amazon

Great tutorial thanks
Do you have a closeup tutorial on how to do the box stitch?
I don't! You sew a whole box. When you get to the corner where you started, sew diagonally, across the bottom, and diagonally to the other top corner.
You can make it adjustable to an extent, but generally, if it is a puppy now, it would need a larger collar when full grown.
This is a great tutorial! Do you know, for a 1.5” width collar, how wide the fabric would have to be? (Would be using 1.5” width webbing on the inside)
6" wide!
Amazing tutorial!! When you buy fabric, how much would you get? My dogs neck length is 18in
If you buy even just 1/4 yard of fabric, that would be enough for at least 2 collars since the fabric usually 45" wide!
What foot is best to use? I'm trying with a regular foot & having difficulty getting close to the hardware & being able to turn the collar.
I use a narrow zipper foot.
i’m having trouble with the buckles i keep putting the one with the claws backwards everytime lol
What do you use for a needle??
I think I was using a size 16 needle
Juki? 😊
This looks like it would be really difficult for a machine to sew through so many layers. I dont think my machine could handle it. Any tips? Do you use a special needle or something?
I just have a regular sewing machine and it went through the layers just fine! Everything it’s pretty thin

I don't have any that I have specifically used, but you might try www.strapworks.com. I have not had any issues with the plastic clips though.
@@SincerelyJenPatterns Thanks so much!
I tried making this but the foot is in the way when trying to sew close to the adjuster. How do you sew without a foot?
I sew with a narrow zipper foot. There are narrow zipper feet for both domestic and industrial machines.
Also what are the stitch settings on your machine?
I don't remember! If I didn't say at the beginning, I would say I was probably using a 4mm stitch length.
Do you know for a 1.5” collar, how wide the fabric will be?
It would be 6" wide! You take what you want the finished width to be and multiply by 4. So 1.5 x 4 = 6"
How funny, We are adopting a dog named daisy tomorrow
Hi! Nice tutorial! What kind of fabric are you using?
It is just quilting cotton
What’s the smallest this goes to?
Is it 4.5 length or width? My heavy duty singer stops at 4 for length
Length. I would just use the longest that you have. 4 will be fine!
What sewing machine do you have? Great tutorial! Thank you!
It is a Juki DDL-8700
@@SincerelyJenPatterns Thank you so much! I love your bag tutorials too! :)
What is the size of the buckled you used and the ring thing? Hope you response! Btw i love your video!
Everything is 1", including the webbing!

What’s the white interface you have there?
Pellon Shapeflex SF101
Nice! Do you mind recommending a good foot for these types of projects? I love your thin foot but I’m unsure what it’s called
It is called a narrow zipper foot!
@@SincerelyJenPatterns sorry im confused..Whats shapeflex do
@@njcamocutie7085 it is like a thin fabric that has iron on adhesive on it. You iron it to the cotton fabric and it makes the fabric more stable.
Mahalo!
