it's not just "guns" ... canada has a whole list of forbidden weapons ... the only thing that's not on the list are hockey sticks, screw drivers, or baseball bats, and bear spray. Hell even ballistic graded body amour is illegal unless you're working in security or law enforcement. there are also no stand your ground laws or castle rights of any kind ... and if you actually defend yourself physically or detain a perp harming you, you'll likely be fined and or charged with "escalation," kidnapping, and assualt & battery.
@knessing7681 body armor laws are province specific. In Ontario there are no regulations on the level or type of armor a civilian can own whereas Alberta has very strick regulations and you require a license to own body armor and it can't exceed level lllA I believe.

@@SrChaliceWrong. I lived in Vancouver in the 8o's and it was safe and beautiful. Sure the east side was rough but there were no tents and you could walk without harrassment. I no longer recognized Vancouver when I last visited. It reminded me of Asian cities I had visited. And yeah, it is now trashy its charm long gone.
