The assessors are not seeing cars in person, they are categorising cars by photos at best, salvage rebuilds bought a van as a cat s, and its definitely a cat b.
My JCW was written off over a phone description at the scene and was on truck to copart straight after

Saw this on Dean's channel and its bonkers that it got written off because there was a delay in getting a new bumper!! An example of the problems with car insurance right now and why we are being charged crazy money for insurance. Good collaboration between the two of you though - shouldn't have thought it will be too costly to fix?

I was just going to comment about their video. Those guys were fuming with what they'd bought. Not insurance assessed properly and pictures "strategically" taken by Copart, disgusting.

My Wife hates driving my car, too big, too much responsibility, needs a parking space that's not going to dinged by another car door etc. This is the car I've been waiting for as a dreamcatcher! It would fit our family dynamic perfectly and one that I would want to drive when the situation suited.....like, I drive to the pub and she drives home.

With what you were saying about the category’s varying so much dealt with an insurance company for a friend recently who had a similar issue. Insurance wrote the car off by a few pics he sent in. When they were offering the pay out he was offered his old car back as a Cat S the damage was identical almost to the S1. I then said there’s no structural damage and they said okay we’ll make it Cat N and you just pay us back x amount extra for the car over the Cat S buy back.
So literally we could pick its category…… what a joke situation. @saving

I think because of the supposed parts shortages, insurers are hoping that writing off cars will improve parts availability is my bet.
It's stupid, as parts are there..they just don't want to wait. I would've brought that car back for peanuts from insurers if they wanted to Cat S it then repaired it myself.
Mystery car on PoD could be Dean's RS3 swapped engine Octavia, will be bonkers car. Just an idea

I would absolutely love to win this S1 sadly I don’t think I will ever be able to own one as they fetch a really good price I’ve got a A1 S-Line 2.0tdi and I think they are great little cars the S1 is next level especially if it’s tuned. Looking forward to seeing what you do with this bro, I will enter the comp when it’s put up even though I won’t win cause I don’t have luck unless it’s bad luck but it’s always worth trying. Some guy touched the side of my car at 17mph I got a scratch and his car was written off and he also claimed personal injury. I do think insurance needs sorting

@CCD Is £8500 for a 2014/15 vw golf tsi 1.2 a fair price? (The car is immaculate inside and out drives like new 50k milage, 1 owner, vw fsh 9 stamps, belt/timer done at 31k) note - offered the seller £7500 went up to £8000 seller declined???
