As a life long Ford fan, this should be a 20k car. Unfortunately it isn't at the present time, but definitely will be if kept the same in the future. An outstanding car, the owner should be beyond proud. 👌
How good would a build channel of been with him showing the process from buying it to the work an then re work of it. Itd be addictive, seems a great guy with alot of knowledge, be a great car channel if he ever made ine..

@@ScottPC You're right. Unless they're prepared to revert it OEM spec as the exterior and interior looks so clean. Even the owner of this even used a microfiber cloth to change gear at times.

8.5k , what a great price. How he has not sold it for a higher price I don’t know but as someone said it’s niche product. George would be a fantastic ambassador and reviewer for your channel. You’ve met some nice people along the way but he’s the best. Get him on board. I know they say don’t mix your hobby with your job but he’s way to passionate and knowledgeable about cars to not be working in the industry.
This is incredible full respect for making this what it is. totally agree with the seats, leather is the most over rated material when buying my golf I wanted the cloth 👍👍
Think it’s a shame this going on Planet of Dreams. This car is stunning and needs to go to a collector as not many left like that. Hope it goes to someone who looks after it, rather than rags it to death. Great video, George seems a top fella and love the content Calv👍

Not sure that putting it on POD is the right move though. The chances of it being won by someone who will cherish it are bloody slim compared to the likelihood it will be won by someone who just thought they would have a go because its free. Such a shame

Can't believe I've stumbled upon this gem of a video. I'm attempting to go down the exact same route with my ST500 that I picked up for pennies in 2018 now I've saved enough to fully restore it and modify it. It's only covered 30k in it's lifetime, I bought it with 26k on the clock. I'm getting it up to around 320bhp (basically getting as much out of the stock turbo as I can safely) and making as much as I can underneath as mint as I can. I'm waiting for prices on full polybush and powdercoating underneath, but I'm opting for uprated hardrace front and rear wishbones/arms and keeping the brakes relatively stock for now, it's got EBC discs and pads and the calipers are just standard. Seeing this motivates me so much, you could eat your dinner of the underside of this! I cannot wait to be in a similar position, however I will probably never sell the car. I've come to terms with the fact I'll probably own it as long as I possibly can
Do it all your self and save major costs, powder coating cost me £155 for all of that pictured in the video

An RS maybe, at a push (once) but unlike the dogs he describes at least you can use them this Id be scared to take out.

£8500 is a joke valuation for this car,if I'd have known about it I'd have gladly paid £12k for it! I reckon if you garaged it and just used it on weekends or a Sunday in about 15-20 years time it will fetch silly money like £50k silly when there's only a handful left like the RS turbo's and Cosworths of today.

Great work! I like the honesty/transparency too! Only thing i don't agree with is the spec, i do love the heated leather Recaros and 3 door makes it look even more mid 2000"s!
You can get heated cloth which beats the leather 😝(very rare)
@georgeeliottcollerroberts2397 great, not one I've seen before. I had a black 3 door st3 for a short period but it had been in the wrong hands for a while before me sadly and I got shot of it for a dog car. I will have another one day, hopefully white and one you've had your hands on!

This guy is the same as me lol. I bought a Golf R Mk7.5 8 months ago with sub 20k miles on the clock and then spent then entire time putting right every little detail that made my OCD go through the roof so much so that I cannot enjoy the car. it sits in my garage as a monument to my insanity, and it still only has 21k on the clock but its immaculate. I will take 30k for it .. hahaha. id be much happier in a crappy E30 drift car tbh where my mind can rest and not worry about every little detail.

People don't appreciate the work that goes in to stuff to get to that level, having owned my M135i Lci from 5 months old and spending a fortune i just couldn't sell it for peanuts , really nice car fair play 👍🏻

I wasn't looking to buy a car when this was on the market but had I known about it I'd have gladly handed over £12k for it and that's still not enough! It has to be worth between £15 and £20k to the right collector or Ford fan, it's basically a brand new almost 20yr old car!

I would love to restore a car to this standard but what stops me is then its unusable and that would do my head in. This should be trailered anywhere it goes far better than oem.
If this had been advertised on a fast ford site/piston heads or autotrader with a youtube video, George would have got £15k back.
7000 views on eBay and not one person viewed, it was all over several Ford sites on social media and 0 sniffs.

I love the idea of doing this to a car, but I hate the feeling of not wanting to drive it to try and preserve it… happened to me with a 12 year old boxster I got in perfect condition, I felt awful driving it as much as I was but after taking it 2500 miles across Europe it has bug splats, stone chips etc and now I just enjoy it so much more without worrying as much as I used to

As the owner of an st-3 with leather. He is totally right. Leather seats are an overrated 90s - early 00s gimmick. They’re either nuclear warfare hot or nuclear winter cold. The heated seats are awesome if you don’t mind a radioactive stew between the butt cheeks.

We have 2006 3door here in SA with only 11000kms on the clock. Literally brand new showroom floor condition. Completely stock
impeccable work, never seen a cleaner more pristine example than this.
just me personally but im not big on this particular version of volvos 5 pot having to have a block mod even at the standard powel level and the turbo being the WRONG side near the firewall.
much prefer the smoother more refinded sounding Italian 20v 5 cylinder turbo engines given their reliability and ability to run 400bhp compeltely stock with all day limiter bashing and near 1000bhp on 70 to 80% stock internals.
stunning work tho. hats off to you.
wish my italian stallion could be at this level but its 24 years old so to me bodywork etc isnt worth doing till its rotted through.

5 door (no one wants them) Pre face life (no one wants them) Shame as that is a tidy low mileage motor. Should be 7k in my opinion.
Pre-face lifts will always be the more desirable for a collector as they're the original. Was definitely the opinion for the buyers guide for one of these in a previous copy of Fast Ford.
That ST is unbelievable, I'm a huge focus fan and I have to say THANK YOU George for doing that to this spectacular car . Cal big respect to you for the give away , I will not be entering this giveaway as I do not have a drive or garage so it would be unfair to park this beauty on the road .

The chap who has built this up to what it is now has some serious eye for detail... Crexit to him this, hope it went to someone who cherished it not abused it...
Fair play to him building this car. It's not about what it's worth, it's about the passion and love for cars. I too have spent far too much on my own car and get told I'm crazy.
