Wouldn’t say you were being ripped off, dealers have to follow the market, we had to do this at my job. We were buying in cars at such a stupid high price to make very little margin on the car. Covid was a crazy time but it’s slowly coming back to normal I believe.

Insurance on any BMW is going to take potential customers away from the brand. I looked at a 5 series quoted over £1000.00 per year. I didn’t pay that on a 3 year old 911 16 years ago. Nuts

@@al1356 £1000 for a BMW is cheap. especially if it's an M. prices have gone up across the board not just BMWs. factors like inflation, keyless car theft all add to it.

Couldn't bring myself to even look at a £98,000 car. The higher the price of car, the more it has to fall in value through depreciation. Sure, it may look good now but in a few years, it will be around 30-40k.
Your owning a small piece of history though, there is a lot of emotional value in cars especially the rarer stuff

From my experience last Saturday, I went to Saxton 4x4 in Chelmsford and the place was heaving with people ready to make deals, which is amazing considering the prices on a majority of their stock. Also went to Sytners in Romford and again plenty of punters sitting with dealers and buying. So it’s not the same everywhere.
Issue is those punters at BMW Harold Wood are PCPing IX's and 440s for 1000£ + pcm

i’m 35, i got a lad a 20 working with me at the min, he tried to insure himself & his gf on his 1.6 focus 17plate, his 3rd cheapest quote was 2grand a month, the cheapest he found was £300 a month, they’ve just got a house as well.

I am 28 with a 330d had my licence for 9 years and I've got 8 years no claims with no claims on my policy and my insurance went from £247 a month!, to £471 a month with the same policy on my renewal, told them to sling it, found a cheaper one but not by much, I'm paying £239 now 😔
Car insurance is taking the pi-s my daughter has gone to renew her insurance last year £250, now £504. And that's after shopping around
Mines jumped from £770 to £1465, 13 years driving legally, 9 years no claims, never had an accident etc etc. It's a joke. It's doubled for absolutely no reason

Bought my Mk2 RS from these guys 4 years ago just before they went full on BMW. They were in the process of building the shop at that point too. Good experience overall, radiator went and they did it under warranty no issue 👍🏻

You guys had it so good during lockdown and now it’s just coming back down, it’s all swings and roundabouts
We had more money than we knew what to do with during lockdown . Now the inflation has meant instead of £400 a month or maybe even £1000 a month disposable income, now after I've done my food shop paid rent and bills I've got around £1.19 left. I've just sold a car for £600 that's the only thing getting me through this month. I've been selling everything I own for the last year to make ends meet.

I am looking forward to stabilisation can’t lie prices have needed to come down for a while now. I’ve not had any trouble selling tbh but because I only buy the most desirable models for the price bracket I do buy. I don’t buy hundreds either, on average 25 a year. I rebuild them so until I get a fully fledged garage and employ staff then I can’t do more. We are being shafted left and right though, as petrol heads and just humans it’s our duty to fight against the anti car mob for our children.
Totally agree, it would be a shame if my 9 yr old son couldn't experience the rasp of my NA E46 M3 - hes a wee car fanatic and i dread the day we are made to ditch the combustion engine

@@jamescrocker7900Having to charge them, the more and more restrictions on the way in new models including things like tracking of the cars and drivers themselves, the neferious ways they're planning to use self driving and the worst crime is being unable to repair them with manufacturers like Tesla completely removing the right to repair.

I think in the UK most people can manage without a car. And they have become basically un affordable now. I mean even a 16 year old ford focus is around £2,5k and even tyres are often £500 a set now and a replacement spring and wheel bearing will set you back £400 and a clutch with DMF is £900. If my car needs work I'm just selling and not bothering. Car are more expensive than they have ever been.

The performance car market has more than crashed, i have advertised my jdm sti hatch 2023 import grade 4 for less than you can import them for and nothing, rs3 was 35k a year ago , dealers now selling for 20k, its insane.. i monitor and look at the Jdm market, and its astonishing what you can get here , that you could not even buy a set a wheels for from japan. hate to be a land rover owner..

Grab some nice clobber 2k , it wont break the bank .and grab a motor around 30k it again wont break your bank or ruin your buissnes if anything u will get great content for your own car. U wprry to much calv
The amount of tax you pay on a new car, is considerable, which as soon as you leave the showroom you have lost £thousands, then it starts to depreciate, wait 3 years.
After 3 years most cars have lost at least 50% of there value.. I bought a £32k car for £10.5k and it was only just over 2 years old.
I wanted a 335i or 340i but the insurance is now not worth it. 328i it is….

Another thing worth mentioning is hold onto your M cars, bmw announced they will stop building petrol after 2027. (Its our duty NOT to buy them, to force the market back to petrol, so whether they do or not is another thing, we have to fight in various ways) but it also means that cars will gain thousands overnight when the first M3 that comes out is electric. I will hate that day.
The whole world government agenda is to go Electric do you really think they going to stop going Electric and back to Ice vehicles cause nobody wants their Performance vehicles lol never happening say goodbye to combustion
The government will price ICE cars off the road sooner or later.
