Paul Rennick and Shane Gwaltney have the most recognizable and consistent tuning scheme. I can hear 5 seconds of playing and would be able to immediately identify one of their lines... I love it. true artists and masters of their craft
I think McM really wanted to go all out this year. Not saying that they weren’t good the past few years but I think last year getting 6th definitely ignited a hunger to show everyone they are a top 5 group for a reason.
Gentlemen, what licks over the years in WGI and DCI have been your combined favorite moments? Even if it would require splitting between the activities, just a combination would be interesting with input.
For me, mcm 2011’s opener quad feature and the INSANE marimba feature at the latter half of the show with the alternating 7-lets and the insane stretch across the board
Couple observations: 1) Tuning is excellent & notable, especially tenors 2) some good dynamic shaping for early 3) I like the trend of layering bass writing density under snare parts. Boston Crusaders have been outstanding at this the last couple of years. Really hope all of it translates in the gym!
7:50 I was literally thinking this is giving me 2011 vibes in terms of note density and quality - def one of the last mcm shows I really loved. also as a quad drummer, its great to see they finally got themselves a spook
Def the best quads since 2011. I see a lot of cadets & Boston members on the line this year. 🔥 I also dig the dual spock, but I’d also love to see them whip out 13inch drums on the snareline again 🙏
Mcm using 6 drums for their quadline is actually groundbreaking for them. Never thought I’d see that

Love the way this line is playing. Very articulate. Fantastic hands. Playing extraordinarily tight in every way: dynamics, style, technique. Love it!
Super excited to see this group this year. Edit, watched the first phrase, I think the bass line is a step up this year.
So many Boston people, thank cam

This in fact confirms that gen Z looks old AF.

Is it me, are do those pearl tenors have more shallow shells than before?
Pretty sure mcm has always opted for the shallow shells
Keep up with STRYKE this year 👀
