I 100% agree with Colin about how much this activity is passion based. Every person in this activity is obsessed. I remember a conversation i had with Thom Hannum about how to be where he was and he said its all about being obsessed with this activity and continue to learn.😢
Drinking game, drink everytime you hear "the activity".
I love how Colin is constantly considerate of time and being boring. While I could listen to him talk shop for hours and never be bored.
I love how often Colin mentions writing in marriage to the rest of the ensemble. Respect that insight being highlighted so much. Not just DRUMS GO
I don’t remember ordering The Special.
You don't order The Special. The Special orders you.
Great video fellas! just a quick note: Yes, Mike, your reaction to that snare lick at the 37:20 mark was the same Every video I watched with y'all two discussing it! 🤣....easily my favorite book of the season!
It was just uncontrollable. Just pure reaction and awesomeness 😂 -Mike
Tom(Grace Note)Float! My favorite instructor! RIP TOM ❤
Absolute best way to start my Tuesday 🤌🏼
Yessssssssssss I have been waiting on a Boston episode since last year. Let’s do this!!!!!
49:42 they talk about the mcnutt special lmao
I'm so thankful for all of you!
I could listen to Colin talk about low-end rolls and flam quality all day! Great stuff.
Like the Cavaliers 91 show and in particular the drum solo: Men of Goodwill. At the end the Drumline homage to the instructor: COOK…COOK…COOK…COOK…COOK…WHAT DID HE DO…HE WROTE THE BOOK!
I am very happy with DCI and the way it’s changed from my days during the late 70s and early 80s. The entertainment factor has gone up and I do think that there are so many more good drum corps playing to a quality, even at high school level that was not seen in my day. I do have a concern like many about the cost of fielding a drum and bugle corps. 2023 no, Santa Clara Vanguard, and now 2024 the oldest existing corps, the cadets not marching.
Mike(Spock Roll)Fantini!
This is the best segment you guys have done. Grade A interview and discussion. Excellent.
Thank you for the kind words, and for listening.
Loved hearing from Colin here! Great stuff guys
Quite a special episode
You guys are fucking based for getting Colin on here 💪 Take my like.
While everyone does mention 93' for Star honestly their 91' book - ESPECIALLY the closer is just the TITS.
