All the nostalgia in this video is great and it makes me happy that it all happened. For some reason I get so sad when I hear that song, it's a window to a better time
As a 90’s kid, these were the best times of my life. I didn’t know what the internet was until UA-cam launched in 2005. Watching your favorite shows and movies on VHS and cassettes were some of the best experiences. TV, movies, music, and society in general were amazing back then compared to today. After school, you’d come home and play games with friends or go to the park. The 2000’s were the greatest years of my life and I’m truly sad that we will never experience times like that again.
@@brotherjoll1802 Yes I'm with you. As a kid, I really wanted the time to come where I would have my own freedom, but I also knew that I too would eventually be in my 20s to watch the years fly by. I'm 23. I was born in January of 1998. The year 2014 does feel like it was yesterday, but it also feels like it was about eight years ago. Now I can do whatever I want. I can smoke a bunch of weed and then eat whatever I want. Thing is, that as an adult, you learn that doing that fucking sucks if you do it too much.
Inunaml I feel that, I went through a really rough patch in 2019, but I ended up finding something that I love! All of our paths are different, I’m sure everything will be fine as long as we work hard 💯
I turned 25 years old this March, it literally hurts to see those years be long gone, and as I'm getting older, I want the time to reverse and wake up one day 5 years old again.
Just turned 24. It's normal to be nostalgic but i cant' see the point of returning 5 years old again. Being a kid/teen means 0 responsibilities and a lot of free time, but also 0 decision-making power, 0 autonomy, low experience, low knowledge, low phisycal strenght... When you are a kid you are basically a worst version of your adult self. If you are nostalgic is just because you probably had a GREAT childhood. Our generation is lucky compared to the youngest ones. Imagine living your childhood in 2019-2024 during pandemics, wars ecc... This a very bad time to be a kid! If you are nostalgic it is not because you want to be a child again, but because the time when you were a child was happier than the current one for everyone.
2000s kids are pretty much the twin brothers of the 90s kids. For example we got to see their 90s cartoons and movies such as Rugrats, Goosebumps, the Magic School Bus, Hey Arnold, Courage Cowardly Dog, and Disney 90s movies. We grew up with Nintendo 64 and VHS before dvd took over in 2006. I didn't get internet until 2010 so I had to do school work the old fashioned way by going to the library and using those 1980's brick TVs lol. 2005 is what I consider to be the last true year from the 90's era before the Wii, Facebook, UA-cam and Iphones took over in 2006, 2007, and 2008.(2005 is the last full year when the school system still taught us that there were 9 planets in the solar system, with babies born in the 2000s growing up with 8 planets since day 1).
The reason we all feel so nostalgic about the 2000’s is because it was an easier time for all of us and when things get difficult in life we like to think about the times when it was easy for us and nothing is wrong with it, it kinda feels therapeutic in some way
i was born in 2000 and i remember all this stuff, i want to go back 😢, when you could say whatever you want on internet, not being cancelled for everything
I was born in 2000 as well, same here man :( I miss 2000s UA-cam and the internet in general during that time. One time when I was like 8 years old I remember imagining what the 2020s would be like. I thought it would be so much better than the degenerate garbage we have now haha.
I was born in 2000 too and I miss the 2000s and the early 2010s, it was the time where I didn't grow up with a smartphone and social media wasn't growing all over my school like it is now so I just played outside and video games while going to school for most of my childhood.
@@toddcho3784The 2000s felt so completely different. I was also born around the year 2000 by two months and I wish we could go back to the 2000s. It was amazing being in elementary school back then and interactions were actually face to face and we did not just play with technology but rather do creative things. The 2000s seem so carefree compared to now.
Turning 18 this year and just now realizing my childhood is over. I’m a little panicked and would give everything to go back to being that optimistic 6 year old.
Same. I wish I could go back when things were easy and when my little children brain thought that the world is a nice place. 2020 and 2021 are dead years. Society changed and is not as careless as before, music got a lot worse in the last 3 years and not to forever this pandemic which ruins our life.
2001 here, and yes My brother is 2002 So we grew together like twins basically and it was fun all the time Playing football (soccer) watching wwe, watching drake and josh or malcom in the middle Man those were days And I miss those days Just him and i playing fifa 14 or 15 all day and watching tv :,) I just wish i could get back for 1 day to idk 2009-2016 Just to play with my brother or to watch tv with him Just one day bro :,(
Consider the hobbies you like doing the most right now in the present day. Also consider the little things you do in your off time. Those are the most likely memories you’re going to look back on with nostalgia.
I was born in 1991 so I got to experience all of this during peak childhood. I do miss a lot of it, but what I miss the most is the memory of all the bikes piled up in front yards. Going over to friends' houses. You just don't see much of that anymore. Most kids are glued to tablets and can barely talk to one another
@@rihannaimvu8834 I agree, internet wasn't as prevalent in 00s as in 10s, if I remember correctly, or atleast in my country it was like that. We would still go outside to play with other kids, then comeback to watch cartoons and tv shows mostly.
@@MiniMight also the big recession at the end of the decade. and they're saying they don't care since they're not "american" but the truth is that much of what happens in the united states affects the outside as well. trade related things for example.
WELL.... theres always the various archive websites that take snapshots of times gone by. You should look into them. The wayback machine is a good start. UA-cam is the easiest and most accessible, i'll give you that.
1998 checkin in. We were the generation of "in between". We grew up old school, but turned new school now that we're adults. Our era growing up will NEVER be matched.
Pov: you’re depressed now, realizing how much better life was back then and now you’re older reliving some pleasant nostalgic memories and now you’re crying reading this
All I ever wanted as a kid was to be older, be able to drive, go where I wanted and do as I pleased. Also have the ability to make money...Be like my older cousins... Now that I'm here... I don't even know what I want anymore I feel like I'm just floating through life as the days turn into weeks and those turn into months and years. It feels like I was just 17.
I cried when “i got a feeling” started to play, that hit me hard. What have our lives become. As a kid i felt genuinely happy and free and now i feel depressed. Bring me back...
Dude it hurts so much The Wii, the Xbox, Disney channel, that authentic 🤌 2000s music, tv shows, outfits, stereotypes. It all hurts so much. But I'm happy it happened. My god. 22 years ago. Jesus christ
I recognized and remembered like....40 to 50% of the things shown. Mostly cartoons. My family was poor even though i was born in 2000. I grew up on outdated stuff and 90s grunge, 80s thrash, and mostly old shows/movies you could get at a library. I didnt get internet access until i was 12 or 14. I cant remember which. My first phone was an old Motorola, and i had an android tablet I used for youtube or music. I got a basic mp3 player, and then figured out you could just convert youtube music videos into mp3 format, and basically got free music on it. So much music. The most present day culture i had access to was in games. I got a ps2 when I was ten I think. Games helped me deal with the feeling of alienation and difficulty I had making friends. Which to be honest, i've almost always had an issue with. I was a young teen when I got a xbox 360 for my birthday. I was extremely happy and excited. That's how I got into halo. Playing ODST as my first halo game. I started collecting halo megablocks because I thought the figures were way more enjoyable and cool to use due to their flexibility and interchangable nature. I actually tended to trade them in school. I remember the most common things I watched on youtube growing up were lego stop motion videos. Usually battles from star wars or zombies. I thought it was really cool and I didnt ever get enough money to collect star wars lego, so watching them was my way of interacting with the community. it was either that, or music. Any kind of music. When i realized the sheer variety and amount of music on youtube, it opened up my mostly isolated and outdated tastes to decades of music and new styles. 90s trance and electronic, 2000s rock, New wave music like m83. It was ultimately music that I started listening to more and more as I got older. Aside from occasional funny videos like vanoss and their group, or trolling videos. By the time i was nearing the end of my teenage life, I started getting less interested in halo and star wars, and more into warhammer 40k. Watching cool lore videos or funny fan made content for it. Most of my free time went to games tbh. I remember finally getting my own usable gaming pc when i was 16 or 17 and did away with consoles so i could get into multiplayer games without constantly paying for xbox live. It was just more efficient, and I had more options with my pc. I kinda just wanted to know how much of my childhood actually resembled the present day stuff people my age were into, and realizing that now I only really was interested in less than or half of it all it now makes more sense partly why I had so much trouble connecting with people. Maybe the reason I always got along way better with people much older than me was because I grew up more with what they had grown up with than what most people my age grew up with. What might be my biggest regret as someone who is an adult now is that I couldnt spend more time or make meaningful relationships that much with people my age when I was younger. Now im getting old, I feel time starting to creep on me, and I feel a longing that I wish I could have done something better, or had tried harder to connect with other kids. I wanted to, but I never really felt like I could no matter how hard I tried. What I enjoy most about growing up was the variety of things I could find when i got internet, and the amazing games I got to play. Games I would say that are way better than anything made in the last five years.
Hi bro, I was honestly shocked when I read your great text. It's obvious that time goes by fast and that must hurt me and all the people who enjoyed their childhood. Even though I'm much younger than you, and from another region (I'm from Argentina), I've lived or seen most things, cartoons, the internet, video games, etc. thanks to my two older brothers. Now that I've grown up and my brothers are gone, I want to go back to that time when I was just a child and enjoyed my brothers and my young parents... the truth is that your text has touched me a lot bro.
1999 kid here. This was extremely hard to watch. Makes you regret every single time you wished you were an adult as a kid. I would love to go back and relive my best childhood memories.
I‘m also a 1999 liner. Feel you with the want to go back part. Luckily I never wished to be older, but I regret that I didn’t fully enjoy my childhood. When I was 13 I was worried about turning 16 and I really feared that. Know I wish I could go back and experience the magic of childhood again.

I SHOULD HAVE NEVER listened to them. Also I didn't have internet till 2012. Now I'm not thinking of what should I have done but what will I do. Enjoy your youth guys. Don't think of the past alot cuz time flies away faster and when you least expect it you are almost 30 or older
Man I was where you are, all we can do unfortunately is move forward. But hey! You'll make even more memories then, and you'll look back when your old and feel the same feeling of nostalgia!
It’s amazing how millions of young adults can watch this video and even though we grew up with all different kinds of situations we can relate through this images so deeply and intimately. It blows my mind, forever grateful we had this and not IPhones every second of the day like kids now, it was an interesting time to be sure
As Dr. Seuss once said, “ Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory”. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time an experience it again. It feels like the older I get, time goes by way faster.
Guys we are here !!! We can finally say this was our childhood and it was LIT!!!! We had a fire childhood! And we get to experience it all together! I am so happy for us! Keep that inner child forever
Facts, it was probably the healthiest/happiest Era. Kids would play video games yes, but we'd also go outside and not care a whole lot about social media
@@shuyo6073 it really was the last generation that wasn't affected by social media. It still existed but was just starting out and really only for the college kids and adults. I feel like today even 8 year olds have facbook/instagram/snapchat etc lol. I've never made any social media account besides this UA-cam one and honestly I'm glad. Hopefully these new kids ( gosh I feel old) grow up and have a good childhood too. We just need this virus to end lol
March 2000 for me. And every single clip in this video is a fond memory from my childhood. For those reading this let this nostalgia be a lesson to us all to live in the moment in the best way possible. It won’t be long before it’s 2040 and we’re looking back on 2010-2020 with the same nostalgia.
The hardest thing to accept the most is I’m now an adult, and no matter how many times I want to go back in time. I can’t. I’ll never experience these things for the first time again. They are now a memory and a feeling.
U could just relive all those things by just embracing it...even tho our world is different today..doesn't mean u have to stop doing the things u love....but Ik what u are saying....
This. This is my exact feeling. I just want to go back. I want to go back to the times where I actually had fun in life. Then I wouldn’t waste all my time being sad.
1997-2003 is a great time to be born. Not only are we still so young. But we have experienced a life without smartphones along with smartphones. Unlike todays kids which they are growing up during a pandemic and obsessed with smartphones
I'm 23, and looking back at this seems like a whole other life from a distant past. I don't feel as nostalgic as I used to, just distant like this is something that I or the next generation may never experience so I treasure it.
@@Dynax77-x9f I honestly consider 1987-1992 like one big era of late 80s/early 90s similar to 1967-1972 being the late 60s/early 70s. I do consider 2000 to early 2001 to be sort of extension of the 90s similar to 1980 to early 1981 to be an extension of the 70s.
Don’t we all feel the same way? 2010 and 2011 were like a bonus track to the 90s and 00s decades that I grew up in before the world as we knew it ended in 2012. Just kidding!
we call the 1990s the period 1990-1999, but actually the decade is 1991-2000, and the following decade 2001-2010 in reality the year 1990 belongs to the 80s and the year 2000 is part of the 90s and the year 2010 is part of the 2000s
One thing I must remember from nostalgia like this is that while it helps unlock memories long locked away, and reminds me of when I lived completely differently than I do now, it doesn’t mean that life was necessarily “better” back then. This is especially true for me who grew up in an abusive home, but even things like pressure from school and trying to get along with others were still things I struggled with as a kid. I may see those troubles as juvenile and easy right now, but in reality it was still hard for me back then. So while it’s nice to remember the past and those things that made me who I am today, I still have to remember that just as there were pains and joys in the past, there are also pains and joys now, and in the future.
I agree, i know eventually I’ll miss my age I am right now. I am 16. Just, I have to remember Im not actually missing being this age, im missing small tidbits of the good parts, where the rest was bad. I myself don’t get along with people even now, maybe future me will be like “I was an anxious teen” but no it really really effected me. Bad enough to get depressed etc. It’s always nice to glamorize the past though, but it wasn’t “all that” truly living it.
I used to always feel jealous of my parents who grew up with the golden age of cinema, rock and roll, and classic video games. Then I watched this video. Looking back on it, I couldn’t be happier to have lived through it. The birth of the iPhone, the growth of the Internet, and the golden age of modern cartoons and video games. The 2000s were a unique and optimistic time. We had a damn good childhood!
you fawn over times passed, but are reminded that those are moments never to be relived. best we can do is push forward and make new memories and help make memories for the future generation.
Nostalgia is the strangest emotion you can experience. Im laying here watching this with a goofy, childish grin yet my eyes are tearing up at the same time. Thank you for this video, God bless you.
This generation of ours must be the first to connect on a global level, because even though I'm not from USA I still remember tons of this. Miniclip should have been on this list too.
I'm from India and I remember most of the English shows like Hannah Montana, Jack and Cody, Drake and Josh, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ben 10, Pokemon and the list goes on. I even played a lot of flash games made by people most likely from the western countries.
Fell asleep with the window open last night. Woke up to sound of birds and the smell of cold air and it felt like I was young again for a split second. Looked this up because I was on Disney Plus soon after. Somehow found myself going through a ton of early 2000s movies and started to feel that nostalgic feeling. Felt good. Came here found this video. Slowly but surely a smile and tears began to flow. This hits hard. And I just want to go back. Nothing holds a candle to the early 2000s-2010s. It was over too soon. I wish I had more time to appreciate it. Growing up sucks. I knew it then and I definitely know it now. And now we find ourselves marching steadily and unyeildingly unto another year. I hope 2024 comes with some good.
Anyone Born between 1995-2004 had the best childhood because of the tv shows and movies that came out and the technology advances plus we the last group of kids that remember using VHS ,DVD players, Dial up Computers in other words life before smart phones and social media man I miss the 2000s so much!!!

The thing about the early 2000’s was the fact that it was a cultural golden age. So many new things were happening all within the span of just the first 10 years. Good or bad. The sad thing to me though is that I’ll get nostalgia for something like my old OG Xbox when I play around with it. I see the Xbox live tab on it and all I can think of is that I lived during that time but never experienced it. On the Wii the Netflix app is still the original red with white lettering logo, it just blew me away to see it like that after so long.
True. As kid you just have to enjoy. Now as adult you have to deal with the struggles of life. Christmas is the best example. As kid it’s pure excitement, now it’s nothing special anymore.
hormones is when demons and evil enter your life. Life slowly takes its change from there. And once you're an adult, you cant truely experience things like how they felt as a child. I think thats why I was getting high so much around college because I wanted to keep my imagination going. Then the vale rose once I quit weed, and its like my new life starts now, and all my childhood nostalgia doesnt even feel like the same life anymore, but I know it all happened.
Hell, even being an adult isn't that different from being a kid except school is replaced by work and friends are replaced by co-workers, and your happiness is replaced with apathy. Even the holidays feel depressing as with close family members passing away it doesn't feel the same anymore, it's just another sad day to remember the times you've had with them.

Remember when we wanted to be a part of the 90s kids so badly. I'm happy we started to own our title as 2000s kids

Totally. :)
It feels relaxing, knowing that we all have lived really happy childhoods. And the content which was shared back then feels inspiring.
@@thisguyispeculiar I wouldn't say that we all lived really happy childhoods, but the stuff we grew up with can, indeed, feel really comforting.

ikrr same. I wanna go back
I recognized and remembered like....40 to 50% of the things shown.
I can honestly say I remembered 99.9% of these. The nostalgia is hitting hard.

Man I miss being a kid, no worries at all, straight living. Growing up is a strange feeling.
Thanks clyde
