You can go directly through TopStep. Many other prop firms including Apex Trader Funding, Take Profit Trader, Elite Trader Funding, and Trade Day also support Tradovate and you automatically have connections / accounts to Tradovate and TradingView when you are subscribed to an evaluation account.
it is possible to copy trade Tradovate for multiple accounts but opening positions through tradingview, I like it and it is easier to operate through tradingview. I could make a video too, I believe that many must have this doubt and I did not find any video explaining it. thanks
Thanks Rod, I have a question when taking trades on Tradingview when you have set up copy trading in Tradovate. Would the copy trading still work for the groups that have been setup if you trade directly from Tradingview? Or should this execution be from Tradovate.
Execution has to be done via the Account Groups on Tradovate. You'll see the trades in TradingView when connected but TradingView doesn't support a multi-account view.
Can you set an order as OCO after doing just the limit order? Trading view doesn't allow this. If yes, would the order show as OCO on the trading view?
Signing up for Prop now, just found your channel searching for Tradovate currency pairs. I've used the demo for a while now trying to be consistent on NASDAQ (no luck). If I were to demo currencies, is that the CME Bundle? I Hope so-I just upgraded.
The CME bundle does include all the major futures currencies pairs - 6E, 6B, 6C, 6J and the micro versions too. If you signed up for TopStep prop they'll provide the data included. In my trading room we trade the stock indices including the MNQ if you'd care to check it out. tradersdevgroup.com/ptr-10-for-10/
Join me and trade futures in the TDG ProTrading Room. The offer has changed from what I explain in the video to 1 month free, and you need to purchase a funding evaluation subscription from one of our partners first. It's still a heck of a value! tradersdevgroup.com/prop-promo
Both have strengths. Web has all the advantage of web apps, easy to access via a browser. Desktop allows you to break off separate windows and runs a bit faster. But you don't have to choose as both, along with a very good mobile app called Pulse, are available with any Tradovate account.
Yes, TradingView PineScript continues to improve and you can program automated entry logic. The issue is that you cannot send order management, and while the integration between TradingView and the supported brokers is good, I wouldn't use it for live orders to Tradovate or any back-end broker. For automation I use tickblaze.com/ and Shark Indicators on Ninja. I have a video showing the latter. ua-cam.com/video/f8lfJy6USyo/v-deo.html I'd note that the bots from 3 Commas and others are solid, but they were designed to work with crypto exchanges (Binance, etc).
Hi Rod, Vitor from Brazil here, TST is the only prop program where you can trade on Tradingview? I love Tradingview but I don't like the way TST treat micros as if they were minis, can't see any logic in that.
Agreed, the TopStep micros sizing is just silly. There are a few other funding companies that white label Tradovate so that they support TradingView too. One is www.speeduptrader.com/. Next month, there may be a few others.
Hi Rod, thanks for taking your time explaining this....If I buy realtime data from tradingview (which is way cheaper than tradovate) instead of tradovate's, will it work or I have to pay for tradovate real time data plan and cancel tradingview's?
TradingView is $4/mo and Tradovate is $9/mo so not a big difference. If you want to use Tradovate you'll need a real time data package, again top of book CME is only $9/mo, so you should get your data through them. Another good option to try out everything is using TopStep - you get data, the TradingView/Tradovate connector, and a chance to get access to a $10K live trading account. tradersdevgroup.com/swingtradingcombine/
Margins are set by the broker you connect to via TradingView. So, yeah, if you connected to Interactive Brokers your futures margins would be much higher than if you connected to Tradovate, as an example.
Hi i have tredingview account and i have all stock from nasdaq, nyse, arca and i want to open an account with tradovate .do you think I will have a problem when I invest with tradovat in one of the stocks I specified above?
You need to have a real time data connection for the symbol you are trying to trade. If you are trading futures, select the front month, not the continuous contract. Example - ES1! is not a tradable symbol.
SpeedUp provides the most platform variety including Quantower, TradingView, and their SpeedUpTrader which is Tradovate as a white label. Several others firms that I mention in my videos will offer TradingView/Travodate next quarter as well.
@@futuresfanatic Thanks for the reply. I remember seeing your top 5 futures trading prop firms video and the only one to offer Tradovate at that time was Topstep. Looking forward to see what happens in the next quarter and to more of your videos. Love the content
Hey Rod, do you know if/how I can get tradovate trade copier to link into trading view? I watched your tutorial on linking tradovate accounts, but now I’m trying convert that into TradingView…
You can use the Account Groups in Tradovate to copy trades across connected accounts and those will appear in TradingView when connected but you can only view one account at a time in TradingView so the "copy" management is limited or basically not possible.
Unfortunately, I don't believe any of the prop firms expose the detailed risk management settings that are included in Tradovate. If you have a live account you can configure a number of settings such as a time based liquidation.
@@futuresfanatic yes but do you think if one has a live acc plus a propfirm acc would that rule also fit for the propfirm acc like with elite? Do you think I can have all my trades closed before 5 est even if the lights go off or my internet crashes?
@@bankmath Your live account and prop account will have different logins so unfortunately, the answer is no. Settings from your live account will have no bearing on your prop connections.
No, not at this time. While the TV/Tradovate integration is solid, it is missing things on the TradingView side, including most advanced order management (OCO, brackets, auto be, etc).

@@futuresfanatic Thank you for the reply! Yea you're right it is free to use tradingview but to integrate it to tradovate cost $9.99 a month. At least this is what my tradovate platform is showing under settings -> add-ons. Anyways great video thanks!
@@ExpoLane Correct - there is a $10/mo fee charged by Tradovate to connect to TradingView. The prop firms that support Tradovate (TradeDay, Elite Trader Funding, and TopStep) all waive this fee if you are trading in their programs.
It's difficult to troubleshoot via UA-cam comments, but if you have any CME live, real time data subscription from Tradovate you can login to TradingView using your Tradovate credentials and trade all CME products for which you have a subscription. If you are getting futures data from a TradingView plan then you can't connect and trade on Tradovate and would be limited to trading only the TradingView Paper Account.
@@BoeIs_HERE No need for a CME account. You need a Tradovate account and then get the data plan through the broker. @@AngryTomTom Yes, you can display tick charts on Tradovate. But a tick chart does show volume, just the amount of ticks for the period you choose. You may be referring to volume-metric bars which are also available on Tradovate but I prefer the ones on Sierra or Quantower.
