62 year old guitarist/bassist/45+ yrs a musician. Back in the day, this was commonly referred to, or known as, a "jam session." This would have been a hugely successful jam session being all the musicians are top notch! Love this!
dozen myself its so smooth. iconic "thrill" drum part...turnaround at end was funky and lifting if that makes sense: ) charlie talking about eric legato sounding like sax part from ellington's band is high praise . this should get insane views its ear candy!
Took me a minute to figure out which 6 string was a bass. What an awesome sound. Alternating solos, no egos, just some beautiful sound. They all "get it". Put the music first. I'd love to spend an evening listening to a few sets of this. Who wouldn't live this?
This was sooooo gooood man! It’s not often that we experience this kind of creative LOCK in live music! EVERYONE did their job and it created something really special! Love all these guys
charlie hunter has custom built saw him in 99 as teen thought it was voodoo lol. plays lead guitar and bass simultaneous usually hes nicest guy youd ever meet. always elevates music with enthusiasm and so humble musically he always serves the song/groove like all the greats. like all greats hes refined now but check early stuff where bit brash for him hes icon level a musicians musician . like lenny breau or wes montgomery just tasteful always
Still remember watching charlie open for tracy chapman at the greek theater in Berkeley, then going to the 20th anniversary rocky horror show at the u.c. theater after.. followed by a very thankful girlfriend.. good times to say the least.. Very well rounded night. 😊

Oh this is supremely chilled and smooth! Fantastic! Reminds me of pre-stuff…Gordon Edwards,Cornell Dupree, Steve Gadd …playing on Sunday nights in NYC on 57th st down from Carnegie in a closed Horn and Hardot eatery.
Hats off to all them and gotta say Leo Fender. Sorry, Gibson and Les Paul. Strats and Teles rule the earth in every genre of music. The swiss army knife for guitarists.
Yes!!! Let the amazing Charlie collaborations begin! This man needs tracks with all the names!what id do to hear Charlie rip it with Derek trucks, Nathaniel Murphy, and of course uncle Larry!!!
out of all of this stellar jam, I'm really diggin the low amp volumes where you can hear the players hitting the strings and the wood of the guitar without a shit ton of volume or overdrive/effects... very cool ❤ to all and 🔥
@OfficialCharlieHunter I'm a musician, and I feel like a bird brain because I watched a couple minutes before I realized where the bass was coming from. Then I remembered seeing a video of you many years ago.
There are a lot of people out there playing, but I like musicians who are doing something different, unique. Thanks for putting your stuff out there, Charlie.
How ‘bout that drummer, Calvin Napper?
