What else can you expect from the Great writer of this channel.
@@funninoriginal6054 Bro's been spitting fire hotter than Primal Groudon
love how you even went as far as to give the trainer used for the Battle Revolution footage a Lucario themed outfit
thats some dedication right there
And Sunset Colosseum was where players battled the lucario guy at the end
Fun fact, that outfit can be shiny.
You can't understate how huge this is; whenever FSG gets Battle Revolution footage, they'll always be using the default outfits for the trainers, if not just having Nate vs Nate fight.
I appreciate the Lucario fursuit
@@nicocchi Main Street is also usually the backdrop used (with Gateway being used for Ubers).
@@primrosevale1995that fight seems so rough to hunt bc of the randomness of the battles, but multiple people have done it
Something I find funny about gen 9 is that every Pokemon that has Extreme Speed in their movepool almost always uses Tera Normal to replicate EKiller Arceus. A common joke in the gen is that Dragonite the best Normal type mon in the OU tier.
"Thank Arceus Normalnite doesn't exist or there will be stab Hyper Beam flying left and right" Big Yellow
Perhaps that’s also true in VGC?
@@skeetermania3202Dragonite is commonly paired with chien-pao for this reason.
@@dse763 AYO? Fellow Based Yellow fan???
Extreme Speed is such a cool move but I don't want too many Pokemon to get it, that +2 priority is so strong
I used to struggle making a Gen 4 team because I didn’t want both Lucario and infernape on my team
Personally I always slap on Fighting types cause they're such a fun type to have lol
It's hard in gen 4 OU to not make your team look like it was made by an 8 year old.
I used to struggle playing gen 4 due to how slow it is, what with 30 second turns with animation turned off. Plus the god awful plot/mons/meta/everything. but at least its not gen 7/8/9, its an abortion but at least its still pokemon, post DS pokemon not even once man.
That was one of my first few wifi battles in fourth gen someone actually had both and they were physical attackers
Lucario, Infernape, Staraptor, Luxray, Floatzel, Garchomp
The Ol' Reliable Team
As a wiseman once said,
Unboosted Mega Lucario is a Parental Bond Terrakion with 80 Base Priority, Starmie's speed and a Keldeo strapped to its back for special attack support. Oh, and its a fucking Steel Type.
I always love the alliteration sections you throw in your videos every so often
I didn't really notice them before, but now that you point it out, FSG's scripts have evolved into absolute masterpieces over the years! His verbal fluency is INCREDIBLE!
@@DestronGaming Kellen's wonderful presentation is what keeps me coming back to this channel even though I find myself playing Smogon less and less
@@Kaiokendrew I never played much Smogon seriously, but I love learning Pokemon history. Reflecting on the past can bring interesting ideas into the future!

Kind of hate them honestly. Pretentious.
Lucario is usually the go to Fighting type in a lot of teams, myself included its one of the few Special Figthers who can run some physical moves as a nice ace in the hole for tricky battles
I like bulky pokemon. Unfortunately all bulky pokemon are cursed with sloth.
Or should i say, i like wallbreaker but the ones i like are overshadowed by better - faster - hard hitting ones.
So to balance that and still be on the " bulky " i chose lucario. Admittedly there are still better ones but lucaria has the steel type privileg and goes well with my favourite archetype
Nobody asked or cares
Infernape too

Even magnemite has a usage you could say trapping ability is just op
Magnezone is my favorite. So I’d be down with that
Please do whimsicott next. It’s such an underdog.
How GOOD was a Fairy-type Prankster ACTUALLY?
Oh I do love ruining OU livelihoods by playing prankster support Whimsicott. Nobody can handle the encore/leech seed nightmare combo, it's extremely fun in low tiers with the abundance of set-up sweepers
Whimsicott's gonna be incredibly long because of VGC
I HATE WHIMISCOTT SO MUCH
Whimiscott will have a 45-minute video and the singles section will only have 4 minutes 🙃
24:00 I don't know if this used to be a common thing, but as far as I know in current Gen 7 Ubers every single bulky arceus besides ground evs to outspeed mega Luc for specifically this reason. Also HJK is an option on Gen 7 Luc in particular so you can ohko zygarde at +2 before it turns into big boss
He's still my favorite Pokémon after all these years.
Same,I still remember the first riolu I ever caught, she carried my playthrough 🫡
Not my all time favorite anymore, but he's still up there. An amazing Pokemon for sure
I still have my first Lucario, and in gen 8 I bred a perfect IV shiny too. Been waiting for this vid for awhile now >w
Same
Man, imagine if Lucario received a third evolution, like Bisharp or Primeape. A 575 or even 600 BST version of such a versatile Pokémon would rock the higher tiers once again
They are not gonna do it because how can you surpass the design of Lucario.
Exactly, you can't
Unironically, you could just make his Mega his 3rd Evolution.
@@cerebralcloud92 same goes for Mawile.
They should do that, actually.
It was speculated back when XY came out that no Pokémon which got a Mega would be able to evolve ever again in future games.
Not only that, but Lucario would also get Evolite
With all the GREAT vids recently I'm starting to wonder what a future third iteration of a given Pokemon's competitive history would be called. At a certain point it might be more reasonable to do smaller addendum videos rather than entire remakes, just going over any changes since the last video on a Pokemon... something like "How has X been doing actually?"
Definitely! I'd love to see blaziken due to changing from Uber to UUBL due to the power creep.
The moment the notification popped up on my phone , i jumped upwards. Lucario has been one of my favourite Pokémon forever, and I've been wondering how they did over the generations for quite a while. This is lovely, thank you so much.
Getting into competitive metagames makes me realize just how much research goes into these videos to cover the entire history of a pokemon. Small things such as being able to swap into knock because of justified + mega stones causes an echo effect through a meta and I'm amazed False Swipe can mention details like this while still uploading constantly. I hope the team knows they're doing amazing work.
A new video of the greatest Dynamax slayer (and slayer of Cynthia's Garchomp). Ash's Lucario is badass, moreso when Mega Evolved, so let's see how fellow members of his species did well in the competitive side of the mainline games.
Maylene Lucario for me anyways was like Whitney's Milktank annoying and took me 3 times to beat her through my first playthrough. I felt so powerful when I finally added one to my own team. Love Lucario.
Eeeh, it ain't as tedious as Miltank, Maylene doesn't spam one move and make that her ace for victory!
Lucario's story sounds like this:
"Wow, I'm doing really good this generation. I hope they don't release something that knocks me out of the spot I was in."
*That exact thing happens*
"ARCEUS DAMN IT!"
Lucario definitely lived up to the hype and loved mega lucario design simple yet awesome
Superb name, superb design, and superb battle prowess. Pokémon don’t come much cooler than Lucario.
I'm so happy FSG re-covered my favorite Pokémon!! 😁😁😁 Lucario is and always will be a GREAT Pokémon. Thank you so much for making videos about them!
"close combat collosal crushing capability" i love this video
No longer having Mega Lucario is one of the greatest tragedies in the Pokémon World
Nah, Megas don’t deserve to exist, and Mega Lucario is the reason. This is why Z Moves were a way better gimmick, everyone had them, and there was an actual risk reward to using them compared to nearly every Mega
@@egbertmilton4003 This. This right here

Love how many remakes have been coming out recently
1:35 Gotta love that alliteration. This one might be the best one I've seen yet :)
this certainly changes the scope of what qualifies for a remake, i like it :)
Didn't expect a Lucario remake, but i'll take it
Me neither
Venusaur and Zapdos getting shafted hard.
Loving these remakes so much!
At this rate, you are gonna hit 1 million subs easily. Love the remake videos, it's basically endless content. I'm loving every second of it
I remember when the original came out, it was a great time. Now, its yet another great time seeing how the Pokemon that pretty much got me back into Pokemon did competitively. Lucario will always be a favorite for that
I'd love to see vids covering the history of certain metagames like the history of Gen 4 OU to see how they developed over time from release to now.
Can't wait to see "How Good was Seviper Actually?" lol, if Zangoose got one, you gotta do us right!!!
That alliteration at 1:38 was sick 👌
Favorite pokemon of all time, and one that taught me that being a glass cannon isn't everything 😢
It's perfect that there's now a retrospective remake on my prestigious ace. Mega Lucario was a master duelist for me in Gen 9 National Dex Ubers on Pokemon Showdown.
Lucario has always been my favourite Pokémon ever. Tbh I was mainly introduced to him in Brawl but when I used Lucario more often, he was amazing especially in X & Y
25:36 I think sometimes happened here with the audio...
I guess you're talking about Scarf Krokodile...
But there is a miss cut there that makes it sound weird
Yessss another epic FSG video. Now that youve done the articuno remake, could we see the other 2 birds remade
Lucario has always been a legend since his first appearance, and still an absolute threat. Love it 😊😊😊😊😊
Imagine if they made the Riolu line a Second Psuedo Legend for Sinnoh. Hoenn got two so I thought they would've done that as the norm.
I like the fact that this channel has been reviewing previous pokemon from earlier on but in more depth!! Can we please get an Arcanine, Blastoise and Venusaur remake! 😂😂😂
"sunshine & roserades" is perhaps the only good Pokemon pun I've heard on this channel
My first ever VGC event I ran into someone w a counter trick room team where they used Ambipom with Beat Up, Justified Lucario, and After You Shuckle. In Bo1 no teamsheet, it def would catch people off guard. Sure enough, the very next one (this was the first one with XY), I ran into the exact same person except this time they were running a faster mode with Mega Lucario instead. Sometimes life is just really funny.
Loved Lucario when he first released, I even thought he was a pseudo-legendary
If it was a Pseudo-Legendary it's stats may look like something like that.
HP 70 -> 80
ATK 110 -> 125
DEF 70 -> 80
SP.ATK 115 -> 132
SP.DEF 70 -> 80
SPEED 90 -> 103
BST 525 -> 600

Could you please remake how good was Togekiss actually?
Yesss Togekiss is cute and awesome
One of my favorite matches of all time involved my togekiss getting three ancient power boosts in a row on a showdown match
Yeah its always funny to see how how Togekiss is right up there with Jirachi for being one of the most evil pokemon in existence. Its hard not to just think of Para flinch and follow me when you think of Togekiss. But it was using extreme speed when it was a normal type, it was the end game sweeper for Baton pass teams in Gen 4, its specific but has been one of the best clerics of all time, and it single handedley forced Garchomp to run a coverage move or get blanked. Its had a wild ride

My childhood favourite Pokémon a week before my birthday. DUDE!!!
Congrats on 400 vids!
I'm getting into Gen 9 competitive, and I'm very determined to use Lucario, my favorite Pokemon, for my team, so this video is perfectly timed to help me consider what I can do with him. Thanks!
As for the ending question, I would love to see buffs to him, obviously lol. I wish that Mega Lucario could return as a new evolution for him, or at the very least I wish that he could gain access to Adaptability again so he could be a better attacker in both physical and special. In the end I hope that Lucario can gain some buffs so he can become a powerful Pokemon again
Definitely agree with the ability thing. Inner focus is good in doubles but Justified is deadweight. Adaptability might have made it top tier uu since Adaptability follows terastalization. Also i use adamant max attk and speed life orb lucario. Hits hard enough to pick off weaker pokemon and sweep if it gets the swords dance
@@victorlinares4137Jolly would actually be better. It's gonna get revenge killed easily by faster threats, especially those who are immune to ESpeed. Otherwise, you're just losing out to mons with better speed and/or priority
I like the idea of Lucario getting buffed so it could be a OU superstar again, but I’d just buff its stats, namely Speed and both Attack Stats rather than making the Mega a normal Evolution. If Megas became normal evolutions, they’d need to nerf the stats and/or the abilities since they can now hold items now, and look at Mega Rayquaza.
Gen 5 big Accelgor needs a video
Triples was it a hard hitter. If you keep it safe on the sides for a boost with a bit of ally swap support u looked at a monster.
I wish lucario got some buffs in its stats and move pools and abilities as well as some reworks in its stats
I love the references to the original lucario video
Lucario has often been confined in too high format for it.
It's a pure attacker, very wide mixed movepool and solid offeses with even decent speed, but suffers the four moveslots.
Such a good use of alliteration, FSG.
5:33 pause right here
amazing Battle Revolution effect
Lucario is simply a great mon and a greta competitive one for sure and I cant to use it one day
Let's go!! ❤
I remember seeing lucario’s mega evolution a lot in gen 6. People would lead with it, mega evolve and then instantly die to my garchomp’s EQ. It made me think lucario was overrated but they were still good times.
Lucario was on everyone's XY team because you would get a Lucario with its Mega Stone from Korrina. Using Power-Up Punch was always satisfying
I knew this day would come!
1:35 bro got bars
"A jackal! Jackal! It's a jackal! It looks like a Jackal! Jackal? Jackal! It's a jackal! Jackal?"
Imagine someone doing that when it was still a pre-release silhouette, and then turning out to be right.
No mention of Beat Up Lucario. It’s the team that blew Wolfe’s channel up.
a new quagsire analysis would be awesome considering gen 8 and the addition of more unaware pokemon in gen 9
Yes!!!! First + I’ve been waiting!!
Born in success, breed for success, thrives for success
If I had a nickel for every time a Steel Type Pokémon was made into a competitive meme in it’s debut generation for how notorious it was in the end game, I’d have two nickels.
Something something it’s weird that it happened twice.
Uhh, what’s the other one?

Man this Mon was a menace in Unite before getting mutiple nerfs
My boy needs a stat redistribution, that 90 base stat really is not making it anymore
He needs a 10 plus base speed to make relevant.
@@dse763 Yes that would make it, it makes no sense for him to only have base 90 speed but I guess that's the curse of Mixed attackers, a lot of points are wasted on both attack stats
I Love The Fact That You Reused Lines From The Original Lucario Video
Could you do a video on what lead pokemon are?? And late sweepers, wallbrakers, and other class categories?? I wanna get better at VGC and showdown
- A lead pokemon is basically the first one you send into battle, which is important as a good lead can set the tone of the battle and gain momentum for your whole team
For example: A common lead is a setter, basically a pokemon that's good at setting spikes, stealth rock, toxic spikes etc, then safely getting another teammate in (such as volt switch or explosion)
However, a setter is only one example. There is no set lead, and what you consider a lead heavily depends on your team.
- A wallbreaker is as it's sounds, a pokemon that can wear down defensive teams. (Normally through a combination of strong stab moves, a specific ability, and setup moves)
These type of pokemon are normally bulky and strong, are only countered by a few pokemon, but in general are really hard to wall. They almost never sweep a team, but it does take down at least one opposing pokemon, and poke holes in the other teams defense and offense.
- and late sweepers are normally what compliments a wall breaker
They're either a strong and fast pokemon or a strong bulky that's strong in the late game (when the other team only has a few pokemon left that is either weakened, or a majority are paralyzed/poisoned)
It's basically your secret card that you preferably wanna save in your back pocket until later, in this case late game.
In the spirit of Gen 4 Pokemon, let's see a Rotom video!!!
Please do a remake/update for my favorite Pokemon Gengar! The first video was made before Gengar lost Levitate in gen 7 so it's long overdue!
Everyone's favorite Fighting-type thanks to a certain movie.
This was my first fsg video I ever saw now it’s remade I feel old
Quite funny but the gen 6 vgc and gen 7 section sounded familiar. But I like it
1:35 Excellent use of the letter C.
I swear the gen 6 VGC segment was verbatim quoted from the original Lucario video. Not a bad thing, just an observation
I wish lucario was good in doubles at least once. Also these vids are great. Lucario getting powercrept is one of the most tragic examples of powercreep.
Terrakion enters the chat
Iron Boulder with Might Kleave says hi. No but seriously Lucario became a fan favorite, gets treated well in spinoffs aside form unite and is used to market other games but sucks in his debut game and future games. Talking VGC obviously. Lucario has never gotten to feel any spotlight not once. People hate his popularity but if usage is to go by the real popular mons are ones like garchomp, dnite, incineroar, legendaries like kyogre, urshifu, ogerpon, Groudon, the weather trio and paradox mons like fluttermane to name some.@@enoyna1001

Dude when are you going to do one on Gothitelle?
How unexpected. I only recently discovered FSG, and now they're doing a well-deserved vid on my absolute favorite Pokemon ever.
im so glad i got the shiny from gen 9
Honestly, Lucario has great tools in his disposal, it’s just he doesn’t have a good ability to take advantage of them, it doesn’t have to be Adaptabilty, but something that can be useful, I’m just glad he’s not a fan favorite stuck in PU
I never understood why Lucario never had an aura boosting ability.
Also, I also hate that Game Freak nerfed Aurasphere in Gen 6 because of Mega Launcher.
@@dse763it’s funny cause only a few mons that had Mega Launcher, not even ones where it’d be too much, Mega Blastoise maybe, but it’d just be a bit better, for Lucario maybe they could give it Mega Launcher since it learns a couple pulse moves, or maybe Unburden or Scrappy
@@ragnaricstudios5888 without adaptability, it wouldn’t hit scarily hard on it’s STABs. Aura sphere, close combat, bullet punch, meteor mash. These wouldn’t hit hard if not for it
@@GoldRichnessI get power creep this Gen was crazy, but not everything needs to be astronomically powerful, it can just have its own fun purpose
@@ragnaricstudios5888 true I guess
Honestly, I would give lucario back follow me. I mean, he is a pokemon that I feel would find a niche in VGC thanks to their quick guard, while at the same time being able to threaten with his own priority moves. In that sense, it kinda reminds me to Gallade wide guard imprison set, as it allows to support their partner with things that the opponent wouldn't be able to do.
What shocks me is how Lucario hasn't hit a new stride in Gen.9 VGC given it has everything Dragonite has but while less hard hitting I wonder how an alternative set hasn't shown up especially given it can hit Flutter Mane for SE damage, has follow me for redirection and how Entei was able to do it in synergy with Dragonite despite holding the exact same niche
Easy. Lucario is too frail to take a neutral hit. Meanwhile dragonite can live multiple SE attacks and staying on the field longer means more damage
Lucario reminds me of Linoone. Boost up attack and sweep with Extreme Speed!
Another way of putting it is how great was goku actually?
