Let them do weekly runs on top of everything else for 2/3 years and see how keen they are to not be thrown a bone every now and then 😂 Runs a run, challenge is a challenge. It’s great content either way
Everyone is asking what the catch is since Lucario is an ostensibly strong Pokémon with a fairly good typing and extremely decent stats and movepool especially compared to the caliber of Pokémon that are usually featured in these runs. Therefore this doesn't seem like much of a challenge, however, I'm just hoping MahDry had a good time conquering the Unova region with everybody's favorite Blue Steel Anubis.
Soulsilver with Qwilfish Also, now that you're allowing rare candies in the end of runs, I think it'd be fun to try and do the Alder fight as a bonus end of run fight like Red and Steven Stone
Funny fact, N's Pokémon he uses to battle you are always naturally found in that exact region at high levels, which implies he releases them after and gets a new team when he visits the next.
MDB, this can probably save you more time in future B/W runs. Have a team full of low level Pokemon/HM users, which will give you the option of adding Zekrom/Reshiram to the team, and then decline the offer. I feel like it could be less time consuming cause you don't have to wait for the AI to finish and move back up to the castle
The interesting part for me in these "easier" runs is seeing the parts that do give you trouble. No one would have likely suspected that the Normal-type gym would give you trouble, so it was fun to watch you work through that. Not every run needs to be a beginning-to-end struggle fest.

The thing I never understand is, if Emerald runs aren't "over" without at least taking a crack at Steven Stone, and gen 2 runs aren't over without taking a crack at Red... why are gen 5 runs over without taking a crack at the real champion fight? for any double battles that require you to get a magicarp, you should attack it during your first turn, since it can take 1 attack from the enemy that could be attacking your pokemon

I like MDB and he comes across as a decent guy but I think he's sadly lost interest in all the pokemon stuff now. He was doing one a week at one point and now it's like one a month. I wouldn't mind so much if the runs were challenging but I can see this one being very straight forward, especially for a player of MDB's standards. It's a shame to see the challenges starting to fizzle out as I think he does by far the best pokemon runs on youtube and keeps many of us entertained with his commentary on the game and with his personality but I guess all good things come to an end eventually and will just have to appreciate the little content that MDB does put out all the more.
The challenges were starting to get stale in my opinion. There’s only so many variations of “Can you beat FireRed with X Pokemon?” you can do. And in 99% of the runs the answer is: “Yes you can, just over-level it and use Return and Double Team”. This run was clearly meant to be an easy one with a fan-favorite Pokemon, which gives him more time to work on a more elaborate run for the next one. We know games from gen 4 onwards are more plot/cutscene heavy, so runs in those games take longer to do. But I’d rather see later gen challenges at this point since gens 1-4 have been overdone.
Some BDSP advice….. that elite four is the most difficult elite four ever made. If you’re doing a challenge run, you might get completely walled by a few Pokémon across the League. I hope you’re going to be flexible with your rules this time around, because I went in with a plan and a level advantage and still had to attempt it twice
Today I'm watching this after I had foot surgery yesterday. I just want to say I love your Pokemon Challenges. I love watching Pokemon Challenges that aren't nuzlockes, where if you lose a battle, you don't lose the run unless there is no chance of you beating a battle.
You should do uranium pokemon on the fan game Pokemon uranium I keep suggesting fun runs to pokemon UA-camrs and none of them do it Also professor Oak challenge in pokemon uranium

Idea for challenge run; generation 1 run where you are defeated by each gym leader with a main Pokemon in your party. Also, a run on an Island of Sodor mod in the style of the first mod video.
Considering Lucario is bonkers I imagine this will be an easy run. I think I'd prefer it in a 4th Gen run though since Lucario was Cynthia's original ace until the random Garchomp killed so many children's dreams over and over again. I always thought Munna was pronounced moo-nah.
An easier run is just as entertaining to watch! I personally watch these to see how you utilize a Pokémon for when I do nuzlocke runs. It’s always cool to see how you use each Pokémon.
The font used for Pokémon names in this game is weird I don't blame him for misreading one of the n's in Munna as an a
@@CaptainGulasch You know. I have never paid that much attention to the font that black/white has. I don’t know if I should thank you or curse you for pointing it out to me because now it does look like it’s Muaaa.
It’s pretty rare that a UA-cam’s actually gets sponsored by s company that they actually thinks is good so for some reason that sponsorship made me happy
Lucario fanboys/fangirls are really happy
(including me)
Some BDSP advice….. that elite four is the most difficult elite four ever made. If you’re doing a challenge run, you might get completely walled by a few Pokémon across the League. I hope you’re going to be flexible with your rules this time around, because I went in with a plan and a level advantage and still had to attempt it twice
Yeah I'm currently stuck on the elite four. It's brutal
Most pointless challenges ever.
Anything for this 💰 I guess.
Ye im 3 like! I'll stay here all day cuz your ma favorite poketuber!
‘Well, we defeated Ghetsis, but you know it’s not over yet. Once we beat the game, we’re able to fight the Sinnoh champion, Cynthia’
MDB Can you please do Pokémon Sun with only Mimikyu
Negative speed nature held you back a bit at the start there. Besides that, pretty easy run. As expected...
Bruh just save before the battle because when riolu faints it looses friendship.
Legends Arceus Solo Runs are going to be crazy for you with a certain post game fight
What am I supposed to comment when the run doesn't feature a fossil gag?
Should have named that pokemon CARDONA
MDB, friendly reminder that your unscripted outro part which "nobody watches" is the best part.
I feel like "The parts that no one watches are the best parts of the show" has been a consistent thing on this channel since the start at this point
Still waiting for the Emerald Anorith & Lileep run. Finally get to use the root fossil.
Because comments are good for the youtube algorithm
@@keylimepython641 facts. I wonder which fossil he took this time?
You should try pokemon platinum with only a single wooper
Today I'm watching this after I had foot surgery yesterday. I just want to say I love your Pokemon Challenges. I love watching Pokemon Challenges that aren't nuzlockes, where if you lose a battle, you don't lose the run unless there is no chance of you beating a battle.
The lucario probably had 0 special attack ivs lmao
Black and White with only a team of Patrat!. Or 6 Patrat!
if you cant prenounce a pokemons name put it thru google translate
Huh? There must be a catch Right? See to figure out
Omg, the sponsorship made me chuckle
Firered with only Bulbasaur please
You should do uranium pokemon on the fan game Pokemon uranium
I keep suggesting fun runs to pokemon UA-camrs and none of them do it
Also professor Oak challenge in pokemon uranium
I don't think Uranium would be possible, since the final boss of the main story is Level 85
Can you beat Platinum using only a male Combee?
Hi Mah-Dry-Bread, I found your channel just about a year and half ago and it’s always so nice to watch your videos (specifically on Saturday night as I live in France and I can watch your challenges at 10PM)
So, I just wanted to ask you, did you do a “Can I beat Pokemon Gold with only a Stantler?” (I hope this is its real English name, I had to check its translation 😂)
I hope you’ll find my comment 😅 I’d like to see you do this challenge !
Thanks again for your videos!
i think maybe he did
@@adamreneau9213 oh 🙁 didn’t find any run with it, hope he can do it tho ..
@@MrCaf7 i think someone with the name of "Scott's Thoughts" did it in Crystal, if i remember correctly
How about an odish run would it be possible
First gen 5 playthrough!
Who thinks he should do a remoraid only run
Glad you're having fun!
It mu-na that is how you pronounce it.
Your comment about saving the world creased me XD I cant believe that at level 91 you were still getting out-sped by Flygon!
Congratulations on the long term sponsorship too :)
Sooooo im Curious how many of you guys found the secret video? 👀
Week 43: would you be able to beat Pokémon Crystal with a team of only one Porygon
That Riolu needed to be named Cardona.
I actually like the change of pace, keep it
An idea for a run though: Trapinch? It's as strong as Regirock but slower than Snorlax
I think in the anime they said Munna as moon-ah
I could do Riolu only for you if you want. I already have experience from doing it in White 2, plus you never do the Post-Game Cynthia fight anyways.
Since you're starting to do challenge runs on some of the modern games, I have a challenge, Pokémon S&M (or US&M) with only Pikipeck (Gen 7's pidgey clone)
The worst games, with the most middling bird? I'd watch it.
Idea for challenge run; generation 1 run where you are defeated by each gym leader with a main Pokemon in your party. Also, a run on an Island of Sodor mod in the style of the first mod video.
Who tf asking for a solo Lucario run lol
7:23 The name is pronounced moon-nah.
Considering Lucario is bonkers I imagine this will be an easy run. I think I'd prefer it in a 4th Gen run though since Lucario was Cynthia's original ace until the random Garchomp killed so many children's dreams over and over again.
Speaking of, how is that competitively viable champion team treating you in Brilliant Diamond?
He finally doesn't suffer!
