@Jordan Tyson there's a BIG overlap with hip-hop, dance hall, reggae, etc. Massive overlap. They lump them together quite often. The overlap for rap and alternative rock wasn't that prevalent until that collab. Not saying that Drake didn't fuse genres together, but Jay fused a bigger gap together imo.

That's just a few drake will never touch in rap and there are more. Drake is nice but he's more of a pop star, his pop music appeals to wide audience. Kendrick Lamar, J Cole are his peers and they are better rappers, their music may not appeal to a wide audience like his but they are definitely better rappers. Dax is not a popular artist, he's way more talented/ versatile than drake as a rapper. Drake's biggest asset is his voice. You are by his side when he's doing music to know which ghost writers he uses and what % of the time he uses them.

Framing the jumping on a record with the new hot artist as altruistic is being super generous. There is a strong argument to say he does that principally to keep himself at the forefront of the popular mainstream.

Drake has a good team i think that drake finds trends pretty well and follow them . I don't think as an artist yiu can compare drake to that many rappers because in my opinion he's using his acting experience to put on a persona which is basically what rapping is in the first place but unlike other rappers Drake's persona is carefully crafted to fit fans and to out out a certain quality of sound. Its easier to compare Jcole or Kendrick to Jay Z because their albums are tailored to their fans and their own circumstances. Drake is More like a cross between Soulja boy and Justin Bieber.
