After having one of the cast iron cylinders completely crack off at the flange with my AV compressor at hour 2.5 (using Royal Purple oil and yes there was correct water and it was not overheating when it broke at 3 min run time that fill session) I bought one of the Mariner compressors from NSA. TOTALLY satisfied. But that's no reflection on you Tofazfou, been loving your videos for years!
For sure. While there are many AV (and other name brands) compressors out there, each one will have different experiences so I know its no reflection on me. This is just MY experiences. But congrats on your Mariner. Those are awesome. The ALKIN is in a whole nother ballpark over the AV compressor.....lol
A Mariner? Holy crap, that is one pricy date, but I’ll bet it works like a champ. Just not something your average air gunny is going to be able to afford.
@bluewater454 yah, I fill other guys bottles for free all the time, as a favor for the airgun community. It takes less than 6 minutes to fill a one hour SCBA tank from 3K PSI to 4.5K PSI (got to watch out filling a rifle directly, takes about 30 seconds)
You should also check the compressor to frame attachment bolts for proper tightness during periodic maintenance. During my last tank fill, two of the four bolts vibrated loose and dropped to the floor. The other two were barely hand tight, causing the compressor to shake and shimmy. This was after only 3 hours of total run time. Each bolt is capped with a single hex nut and flat washer without any lock washer, jamb nut or Loctite. If A/V is reading this, your supplier needs to at least Loctite the nuts or switch to elastic stop nuts. The compressor vibrates too much to not properly secure these bolts. As an owner, you can take these steps as well, but you will need to do quite a bit of disassembly get to them.
Thanks for the maintenance video. I am getting one next week and needed to know this stuff. Pretty fired up to not have to take my tank in for fills anymore!
nice video again...i was on the fence about getting one after having had to send back the Nomad II but am seriously considering this now. Appreciate your efforts and time bringing us the truth!!! stay safe
Your welcome. I do my best to report it as it happens and nothing more. By giving the good and bad, people can now make an informed decision with whats to be expected . Thanks for watching and stay safe
Thank you for such a GREAT and honest review. I’m in the market for my own compressor since I’m not near any dive/paintball shops and if I was I’d be tied to their business hours. Well done!
Great information brother...i definitely agree with you they have done something different since the last model..this is my third unit I've owned.. but this one different is a little different around the bell housing area... thank again 2F for sharing brother awesomen !⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
WHATS UP WILL!!!! I didn't know you had an AV also. Let alone your 3rd. So, thats some good info you gave. Thanks for the knowledge and thoughts on what you see. Also, been enjoying your Iguana videos. Very cool stuff to be able to hunt them lil dragons. Thanks for watching😎
Great review. I decided to go with a Traveler compressor for my means of charging my rifle to start with. I think Ill be looking at tanks next to add to the arsenal
Based on the bumpy start with the first unit, it is great to see that the replacement is doing what it is supposed to be doing. I understand the difficulty that you expressed in trying to qualify whether the first unit failed because of a part internal part or if the lubrication was subpar. The thing that is the biggest take away from this update is other folks buying their first compressor can eliminate lubrication from the cause of failure should they run into a problem with their first purchase. Nice vid Ced
Thanks Haji. I appreciate ya man. Hell, I needed yo help on that 1st one. Being an engineer and me a mechanic. We could have fixed that sucka. But, you wouldn't answer my call maaaaaan! LOL, just jk of course. I appreciate it. Stay safe and keep doin what your doin
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience including the number of tanks you fill on a (bi) weekly basis. I didn't find the endorse for Royal Purple convincing, so I am wondering if there more to it than what you said in the video? I.e. first compressor died using Pennzoil, and the second compressor is still running with Royal Purple.
What part of California are you at ? We are in imperial valley and it gets hot. Just ordered this unit And will have to run it out in the shed with no ac. I’m wondering if you run your outside ? If so does it get too hot ? The air gun depot people told me that the of filling a tank it can be put into a bucket of water to help with cooling. Not the compressor but the tank.
Cedric...This is good to hear that this one has lasted 1 1/2 years …Tom Kaye is out of bizz ..my shoebox has some 3000 hours of use ,but all the internals are about new right now ,but still interested in a faster way to fill ... I think the royal purple does definitely have something to do with long Gevity over using Pennzoil = junk ! LOL !{sorry}... I build 2 stroke race motors for pro class jet ski's up to 250 psi per cylinder I use Amsoil dominator synthetic race oil 32 to 1 ratio … if one were to use 1 of the " junk " brands of oil = oh boy motor did not last long at all... crank bearing's/thrust washers /piston sides -skirts/rings all of those parts take a real bad beating A VERY REAL EXPENSIVE BEATING ! LOL ! … if I use the Amsoil those motors last a real long time , the film strength creates , and almost no metal friction at all condition as long as there is no pre -detonation motor just keeps on truck-n... LOL !... Now I have no idea if they used better rods {maybe} on that newer compressor you have vs the old 1 you had that broke the rod in , and to be honest with you I have seen some of the china compressors like yong heng brake the rod ,and the persons were actually using royal purple oil , so they may have up graded the newer unit you have ... thanks for the update great video as always , and ya know I might just have to get one of those compressors …. OH 1 question = How is hunter one's compressor doing ? I know he bought 1... I think before you did ?
Hey I’m in the market for a new compressor! I can’t afford an alkin. But I can could probably afford 2,000$ type of compressor. I shoot year around and fill 2 big scba tanks every week. I’ve been through 4 young hengs this year…. Anything you could recommend?
Hello, I want to buy one of these compressors, how much is the price, and I want to fill oxygen capsules up to 180 times, 50 per day, will it work for me? guide me
Hi I have a new compressor and when i bleed the air off it is a very thick creamy color substance that comes out from the bleed point this is obviously water and oil but seems excessive, do you get this from yours or am i looking at a possible fault any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks
@@Glockcoma1 they do expel white liquid normally but this is very watery, mine was very thick liquid and eventually went from cream colour to grey colour indicating metal wearing, this was returned and the replacement was fine just normal what I would say was cream coloured water.
Thank you for the videos you have done on this unit. I have a question. I couldn't see clear enough on your Royal purple if it's same as I bought. Mine says Royal purple synthetic motor oil. SAE 5w-30 for gasoline engines. Is that right?
Hi, I know it’s not related to the compressor, but can I ask a question on tuning, I’ve got an air arms S410 running at 23 ft lbs. people say to lighten the hammer to give it a better lock time. I’ve put a stronger hammer spring and a lighter firing Valve spring. My question is if I run the standard hammer and it hits the firing valve surely I should get more air and keep it at the power I now have, will lightening the hammer increase the power or decrease the power, I’m not worried about shot count, I get about thirty shots per fill at the moment. Thanks I hope you can give me some advice. Dave
WHAT A LEFT FIELD PITCH you threw me just now.........LMAO! But lucky for you, i can switch speeds like no other. To answer your question more thoroughly, which caliber? I cast for a multitude of calibers. .300 cal, .308 cal, 7mm, .338, .375 cal, .257 cal, .457 cal, .452 cal etc. I use NOE, ACCURATE, ARSENAL, LBT, LEE and others. 1% Tin/Lead mix is my favorite alloy
I’ve kinda been wondering... this compressor is what I decided to purchase, and then my Airsmith’s went down... and yours, and Monkey Dad’s, and a couple others....I shied away from it, and , as you know, went with the Daystate. I’m really glad you’re having better luck with this unit now...
You do a nice job getting the facts on the items you review. Do you still recommend this compressor or are there better choices now? Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone with the Air Venturi 4500 compressor have their digital thermometer stop working on the compressor and have to replace it? Mine stopped working. How do you remove it from the compressor?
Great vid man! Got mine yesterday and I have hella amounts of oil coming out of the bleed valve. It is slightly overfilled but not much and nothing is coming out of the breather. I didn't expect this. I'll keep messing with it but I don't think what I'm seeing is normal.
I just order this compressor from AGD, I order the oil too. Now watching this video I don’t know if I suppose to use it or not, or if I have to go to Napa auto parts and purchase the royal purple synthetic one.😩
Royal purple....I hope to God they are sponsoring you. ...because you are selling the f@$k out of them! Great video. I was curious about that unit..because a G + is alot to drop on a Dud!
Thanks for you time and info on this. I've been using my Yong hengs for year's now. 3 of them. I know them inside and out by now. Used for my tanks. Used hard. And all I ever put in them has been royal purple. Cost more than other's but we'll worth it. Yes I've had my issue's on them. Are you using the air venturi oil for the compressor now?
Because vehicles used antifreeze instead of water can the same thing apply to the compressor, what you think?
How about an exact oil designation, rather than just a brand? Thank you.
Waht would work better is the run it prior to draing to warm the oil which will allow it to drain better with risking damage.
