Johnny Parker Nath Jones Right(!). This is the 1st time I’ve ever commented on a comment, that’s on a comment; I agree & identify with both of you. What you want the device to do, making it do it, and being able to do it, is the thing. Now about that elusive Push 3 release...baby; maybe; someday.
You can also do this exact workflow with the MPC Live, it's what I currently do to finish tracks with mix/mastering. I am hoping that the upcoming arrangement view in the Force is good, because that's one of the main reasons I'm getting a Force and potentially selling my MPC Live.
I got the akai force recently and I think its great. Of course not as versitile as Ableton with the push 2 but for a standalone it is a beast. I think Arrangement mode might suck at first but they will eventually fine tune it. FYI alot of places have reduced the price to $999 if you want to buy the Force. Totally worth it in my opinion.
Insanely helpful video, Marlow, and the first/only of its kind. Considering Push 2's price... and a new Force... it seems like a more fully-featured Push 2, in a lot of ways. You get the bonus of a standalone instrument (very powerful) as well as being able to trigger clips and tweak stuff. Assuming the control script is legit, I think this is the way to go, instead of Push 2.
It's definitely a great machine and capable of all the things a daw can offer. Somethings I didn't like like the way the transport controls work and the way the buttons feel. Apart from that I love it.
When I download the Akai midi network driver and open the app all I get is a blank screen when it’s opened. Not sure what’s going on here but it’s mad frustrating
Can anyone tell me if they have managed to setup "Midi clock start stop sync" whilst using Ableton Live link with the Force? I can use the Ableton Link function but I cant start/stop the Force from Ableton and visa versa.
The way I record a song is using the sampler so I have to remember what every pad does without viewing the matrix screen, it makes more sense to do it this way with ableton of course but after 90 days I will be forced to record with the sampler mode again, I guess 90 days is long enough to make a decision on if we should buy ableton or not but the akia force is supposed to be standalone it should record and export music by itself.
Never really understood all the fuzz about "playing" the the arrangement into Ableton, probably good if you make EDM, but hip-hop arrangements is so simple and songs are shorter, I always end up editing things with the mouse.
Sorry for shamelessly throwing my question but once again guys I am lost... Could I use my ableton live with my audio interface and my plugged guitar on it with all my vsts etc and record phrases live on clips on my force project? Also the wireless thing here in my case is not really usefull could I do that? Could you guide me through that with 1.2.3. simple steps?
Could you have the Force connected with the USB cable to your computer, restart it into computer mode and open the file in Ableton from the internal drive and or SD card ?
can see the force having a bit more of a natural integration with ableton. cant help but wish you had an X on the deck and just `coz not enough using X and ableton that I see...
Is there much on the force that cant be done in ableton? with the layouts being so similar, is there anything that might stop you form recording directly into lives session view? maybe with push 2?
So..I just bought Ableton Suite...force? Or push 2 and a new laptop? Looking mainly to use for drum morphing ala Boards of Canada and studio song structuring.I do solo ambient live.
Hello you! Yeah dont really want to buy Ableton at full cost...wouldnt mind if we had 50% discount. I can understand them focusing on this due to sales....but most of us who own them agree...we are using as a stand alone devise...please need alter track length n global transpose via pads....and disk streaming lol
So why have a FORCE and ableton and not just ableton and a controller? I get it on a "having spare money to spend" level because new things bread new creativity but on a "what you can achieve" level is it not just another machine to do a little bit on ableton in before doing it properly in ableton? Seeing as to mix you'll need a different DAW to do that well. As the sound engine won't cut it in ableton for a finished piece. It just seems a bit "hardware junky" to me. Which I am some what, but really anyone starting needs to focus on their DAW setup if their doing full production. Unless it's anlouge techno stuff. What does this offer over a DAW setup? Because sampling and chopping can be just as easy but also more fine tuned in a DAW if you real want chops to be perfect
Yeah Akai over promised and under delivered on the Force being 100% standalone dawless marketing pitch maybe 75% standalone is more accurate. So it is what it is until they can get the code updated.
Excellent review brother. You kept me locked on your experience and knowledge of the Force and Ableton software.
Thanks. This video helped me better understand the workflow between the Force and Ableton. This was just the video I was looking for.
Enjoyed this, solid info and smooth talkin’. Thank you for taking the time to make and share this, subscribed. Rock on.🎛🎹🎧🔊👑💎
Thank you 🙏
Love that dusty jazzy beat, great integration with Ableton and Akai.
Yep that beat is dusty just like my Akai Force.....

Great tutorial - many thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

Looking good!
Did the same thing with my mpc live. Arrangement is just much easier in Ableton.
It is
Such a great Beat Marlow...... You've been listening to Dilla

Cool function!
Did anything about Ableton intergration change with the 3.0.5 update?
You are on Point! Your creations make my creativity in "Popping" go to the next Level. Blessings to you 💜
Glad you found inspiration on my video 🙏🏼

Yes def agree with you, I'd say that is case but if you want to make some complex arrangements then it makes sense
@@mpchead For sure! If you have tons of loops/changes it probably works well :)
If you export MIDI, can you send the MIDI to the force to play the samples there, so you can tweak the sound on the force
No doubt this makes things so much better. But the point of this machine was 100% standalone. But know this option is available is kind of a relief.

Yes, you can do that
Please give your update to this video given the recent Force update. #AkaiForce
Can you make a video of exporting your project (made entirely on the Force) to Abelton for final mastering?
can see the force having a bit more of a natural integration with ableton. cant help but wish you had an X on the deck and just `coz not enough using X and ableton that I see...

Ableton is much better than the Force. There's little on the force that is better than Ableton. But it's a standalone
So..I just bought Ableton Suite...force? Or push 2 and a new laptop? Looking mainly to use for drum morphing ala Boards of Canada and studio song structuring.I do solo ambient live.
Does Ableton pick up solos and track mutes? What about the cross fader or XY pad? Dope videos , thanks for the Force coverage 🙏🏾
dope
thanks for the video. does the integration works with ableton live 11?
It's not working with my Akai Force and Ableton Live 11 Suite. No connction possible in any way. I am very disappointed.
Are you able to put the force into controller mode to transfer files via USB instead of taking the SD Card out and putting it in your computer?

Do you not get Ableton when purchasing the Force?
Maybe the free version.
Super hot that’s all I know
Is it true that the integration only works under MacOS or Win10? Can't get it to work under Win7
Did you get this to work on windows 7?
Is it worth it to buy a push 2 if u already have Force for Ableton Live ? I mean can u do almost everything like a push 2 on it?
I am at this point..great question..will someone please chime in?
And what did you guys do?
akai can do it all stand alone ... can push 2 ? ....
So why have a FORCE and ableton and not just ableton and a controller?

The Force looks dope!
