      Yeah, there really should be an easier way like the arrow keys or something… being able to select a page when jumping around is great but mist times you just want to go to the next or previous page (quickly!) in a single button press.

    Cool video, and easy to understand. BTW, Did any of the awkwardness get corrected by firmware updates that were released after this update? If so, it might be worth adding captions to this video (as well as any other ones where fixes were made) to note the new firmware corrections. Yeah, I know, it’s major drag to go back and update older videos, but it certainly make the older Force Fridays moree future-proof (contemporary? LOL) since they would stay in sync (to some degree) with the latest firmware. Anyway, it was just a thought… In anycase, this series is great video resource for the Akai Force. Thanks for taking the tome to share your knowledge !

      @@PinkBuddhaAcademy I always found it odd that google doesn’t allow editing, but I always thought the additions of captions boxes was a separate thing (or at least it used to be, but things might have changed since then). Anyway, great videos! Cheers

    So i just picked one of these up snd its pretty annoying that the sequencer does not auto follow to the next set of bars. I thought i was doing something wrong or i didnt have a specific setting turned on.
    Theres also some wonkiness with velocity in sequence mode. Once you exit out of sequence and go into notes, i noticed that the sensitivity of the pads are different, i start randomly getting pads to trigger multiple times when i tap once.
    To keep or not to keep.....
    Also no pad slicing?? And the warping is so bad, serato sample way ahead of akai sampler and warping.

    Hey Buddha, I've been interested in the Force for a long time. But I just feel like ill end up hating the touchscreen. Do you find its still worth working in the Force over a regular DAW? Or does it not have that immediate workflow like maschine or elektron etc.

    • @PinkBuddhaAcademy

      Have you used Ableton much? Workflow is way more like Ableton session view. The touchscreen sucks - hate touching it with my fingers. I prefer to just sketch on the Force and do finished stuff in Ableton.

    When you played that pad part you were moving your finger in a vibrato fashion like you can do on one of those Roli Seaboards lol. Would be dope if you could actually do that on the force! And thanks for the great vids man. Still learning the device and you cleared a few things up in this one. I could tell it would take some time to learn, not only from what I heard, but also cuz the thing is a freakin brick lol. And indeed, this thing has its features in very odd places unfortunately. Hey, thanks for your super helpful videos and realtalk, I like it!
    A little something I noticed as I share your preference for recording live and then fine-tuning after:
    You can actually kind of "zoom in and out" in the step-sequencer mode by either 1) changing to matrix-view on the screen and then change the time-correct setting with the second knob. Or 2) just go to the TC setting via shift+TV on track 6 and adjust the setting there ;)

    • @PinkBuddhaAcademy
      @PinkBuddhaAcademy  4 роки тому +1

      Not exactly - at least that I know. Wish you could just hold the erase button, and then that pad (like you can with MPC software). I really don't understand how Akai makes both the MPC and the Force, but still manage to not really grab some of the best things from MPC when creating it. Like that could have been so simply. They already have a device that does that. Completely baffling as to the design inconsistencies in this company.

    Great vid, i didn't realise how deep you can go with this :)
    I guess you can set the knobs to be note values and use it like a traditional old school step sequencer. I'm going to try it.
    Hummm... Doesn't look like you can. Strange, i would expect at least note value, gate time & velocity to be available.
    Also in the step edit i would of thought pressing select and a pad would actually select it for editing in the step editor. Scrolling through the pads on the LCD graphic buttons is silly.
    Closest i could find was dropping into list edit then if you press select and a pad it selects it in the list. Meanwhile whatever parameter field you have selected, ie note, length, velocity will stick and can adjust with the data knob.
    Or i have a missed something?

    • @PinkBuddhaAcademy
      @PinkBuddhaAcademy  3 роки тому

      Yeah - the UX/UI is not all that intuitive or smooth for using the step sequencer. I really only use it sometimes for adjusting levels/values for an automation I've already recorded.

    • @gonzinigonz
      @gonzinigonz 3 роки тому

      @@PinkBuddhaAcademy Hopefully they will iron out some of the quirks. It's so close then there's a gotcha! I'm having loads of fun with it, creating and learning how it works at the same time. I'm glad I went for it. Found the novation circuit pairs with it really well. The synth engine sits right with the forces. It started off figuring out the USB midi stuff which turned into getting creative. I've wanted a box like this for 20 odd years.

    • @gonzinigonz
      @gonzinigonz 3 роки тому +1

      I got the note select thing wrong. I was pressing select + pad which didn't work but just pressing the pad does. That's made it a whole lot better. Would still be great to have gate time and note value on the macros though.

    I am currently using the step sequencer (in mono 8x4 mode) to send midi to Ableton for making nice 303 patterns in Phoscyon. There doesn't seem to be any way to change note lengths on individual steps for slides. Disappointing.

    • @PinkBuddhaAcademy
      @PinkBuddhaAcademy  3 роки тому +1

      hmmm....I don’t honestly use the step sequencer much. You could also just edit that in the clip, where you can change the note length (i.e. edit the beginning or the end of a note).

    Hello Good Day Sir,
    I am Thomas Kurumasseri from India, South Indian,Kerala. I am a Musician.
    I have few queries regarding Akai Force.
    The issue is in the clip. Can we put Time Signature in clip?
    so that the programming gets easier. Changing bars at a time with different time is difficult right now. If Time Signature is implemented in clip we can change tempo and tune bars as desired. Example: if it's in 4/4 or 3/4 beat and have to go to 6/8 or 7/8 in same clip... if time Signature is implemented it's easy to move and place it on track easily, which is helpfull for drum either keyboard.
    Please suggest a solution for this
    We need a complete MPC Sequence set. MPC software sequence is the best.
    Right now instead of (TC)Time correct please implement (TS)Time Signature.
    Please do help
    Thankyou
