The Cory Wong Stratocaster's body is 3% smaller all around however, the space from the upper and lower bouts to the neck are the same as a standard Strat so the clearance for your hand is the same. The Nile Rodgers Strat is the same.
Once I listened to that solo on Gumshü, I knew I had to look up how to play the solo, and what a video this was to stumble upon! So well made and I soooo appreciate you bringing up how to play those classic licks especially. Excited to see the Wongnotes live!!

Cory is an amazing player. What you've done here by showing the visual layout of his work (and your other visual lessons), is groundbreaking for a visual learner like me. I just signed up for your self paced course because of this lesson. I have played for over thirty years and use CAGED, major/minor pentatonic, some modal shapes... But I have lots of gaps in between all of these things that need filling in. Looking forward to becoming a more well rounded, complete player. Well done Sir! P.S. Let me know if you decide to sell that Cory Wong Strat! (I'm sure there's a wait list). P.S.S. I'm heading to Asheville, NC in February to catch Cory's show! Super excited!

Holy cats!!! What an awesome, unique story behind that guitar my man! If I had been there we might've been having some words about who was gonna end up taking it home lmao ;). Congrats, what a beaut! Cory is my #1 influence these days, I've been eyeing that signature strat since he released it. No way you'd remember this lol, but you and I actually briefly talked about his stuff during the one Live Zoom lesson I was able to make last year (you also gave me some tips on how to clean up my awful weak tone since I was plugged straight in and playing bone dry... I've come a long way lol).
This tour for the Wongnotes was so good though. It was my 3rd time catching them -- Cory's energy is so damn infectious, such a joy to witness. Hope you had a blast in Austin! Also shout out to Petar Janic on the kit --- that dude's gotta have have a black belt cause he's got some CHOPS.
But maaaaaan, if you end do end up selling that I might have to drop you a line and make some questionable financial decisions :D
Did you happen to record this through his Archetype plugin, or dial in the tone yourself? Sounding really close to the Gumshu recording, at least to my untrained ears lol

I actually bought that plug-in after I filmed everything and then applied it in post… You’re hearing two guitar tracks mixed together… One is my supro amp miced, and I split it through a DI box so the other is DI with the archetype plugin applied! It was one of the clean sounds. Seems like a great plugin!!
Man, seriously… The vibes of that band are so good, and the drummer… Oh my God! Really the whole band…It was so much fun and people were so amped up. I had a great time… Cory is such a positive force
