NICE!! I saw another guy putting CLR into heater core for 15-30 mins, then flushing. Thoughts?
My defrost puts out nice warm air (Audi TT) but the vents don't seem to be getting very warm at all. Think it needs flushed?? Thanks!

Did you ever figure out your issue, right now I’m fixing up a hopeful but somewhat mangled a6 lmao and when I first got the car my heat worked but literally a week went by and then it went out come to find out three months later my auxiliary pump has failed so I just replaced it but am waiting on a couple more parts before I even turn the car back on im hopeful it’ll fix my issue or it’ll just be heater core issues 😂 that was my first guess because it’s one of the only things on the car that doesn’t have a receipt for it but also don’t see anything for blower motor or ac clutch but visually that one seems okay

I have totally cold air through the vents.
    - bleeded the heater core
    - ınlet and outlet hoses on the heater core are war
    - checked water pump and thermostade; both are OK
    - Air Condition OK
    - When AC is on, vents work perfectly
    - I worked the climatronic self-diagnose system. 25b error code (Footwell/Defoster Blower Vent-V85) but after resetting it disappeared. I have no problem with both vents as I observe when AC is on.
I flushed the heater core only once in 25 years a few years ago when I had the same problem again but this time I hesitate to flush. As I read in the form, flushing might harm the heater core. You know it may be so difficult and expensive in especially 25 year-old Passat B5. What would you advise ? Thanks a lot

Didn't it leak after that? Those hoses pipes look terrible. This same heater core was being used in Audi 80 B4 and when I was replacing that with my father it of course broke. Today I wanted to flush the system in A4 B5 and guess what - it also cracked when I wanted to take off the hoses. They used come crappy plastic there. I put it gently back together and was preparing myself for dissembling 80% of interior, but I can see that You didn't do that. I am wondering if it won't start leaking when put into heavier load plus a very hot day, when the pressure jumps high?

Very nice video. Thank you. I do have a question. If your A4 Audi Quattro has air conditioning and no heat? Would a flush help or would that be something else?

A would say a flush would definitely help for no heat

Mostly its the heaters blending box flaps, the foam covering on them disintegrates & lets air thru the flaps. If you have bits of green/grey foam comming out the vents, ir stuck behind them, this is the problem. Its a lot of work to fix, but costs nearly nothing to do. Remove centre consol, under dash, cut thru ducting, remove box, fix flaps by gluing new foam on them, reassemble. Harder than it sounds.
      Same problem as fallen headliner.
