I've been researching rail trails to go ride, this is a good reminder that i can just go find a spot and ride! Now i'm contemplating a new mtn bike or gravel bike
We're finally in Tennessee in our RV coming up through Louisiana, Mississippi and Georgia, and with the exception of southern Louisiana we've noticed that the mosquitoes are virtually non-existent... YET... bonus!
I loved visiting Washington State for the first time last summer, with stops in Seattle and various locations around Olympic National Park. We hope to return this year and visit both Mt Ranier and the North Cascades National Parks. Where is home for you?
For the record, we have only had one bear encounter in the entirety of our riding gravel riding experience. When we were doing a long gravel ride down in Big South Fork, there was a bear that ran across the road, way out in front of us. And I didn't even get to see it. (I'm usually the slow guy in the back.)
Hey, you were back in my neck of the woods!! Looks like a good beginner overnighter to try out later this year. Keep the content coming and hope to see you on the road again!
I'm almost positive I've passed you out there on the bicycle . I am also just getting into bikepacking, have done two solo trips to the Gorge & almost camped in the same spot on my last one lol. Would love to join y'all on a ride.
Are you on facebook? If so, be sure to check out the Central Kentucky Bikepackers faceboook group as that's how I generally connect with new folks for trips like these.
I just bought a new mtn bike, but its not been delivered just yet. My trek 520 currently has 44mm tires on it, think thats wide enough to not have an issue on the gravel roads?

Looks beautiful! Greetings from Washington State! I hope to make it out there some day.

Looks like a fun ride. You lost me at the "bear" sign🤣

Looks like a much easier route than the one we did at RRG! Looks great. Thanks for sharing
LOL. Like on the opposite end of the spectrum from the RRG Overnighter route from 361 Adventures.
@@KentuckyCyclingI like yours much better!! That one almost killed 3 of us 😂

Water inside of wheel rims?
We've never had an issue with that. I think so long as the tire is seated properly, it should not be an issue.
