I know I say Natasha Denonna instead of Danessa Myricks- for some reason I always get them mixed up in my head (this has happened before lol) sorry and thanks for the patience 😅
I’m soooo glad it’s not just me! I have them fully distinct in my head as women, as brands and as two separate lines of (quite different!) products. But for some reason when I’m chattering away I seem to word-vomit the wrong one once in a while
usually in korean makeup styles, they tend to prefer a more of washed-out watercolor look for eyeshadow. that's why korean eyeshadow palettes tend to not be that pigmented as western eyeshadow palettes~
I used to think that, too, but I think it has more to do with gaslighting consumers into believing that less is more. That’s why brushes and learning how to apply makeup are important, you can apply as little/much as you like.
YES! TF Nude Dip is 100% a cult classic and my go to palette when I’m in a rush or on vacation because it takes 2 seconds to make an eye look that’s always going to be beautiful. Any of the 3 lighter shades are a perfect one and done and then a small wing with the dark brown. Freaking chefs kiss! 💋 I understand why you’re unimpressed by it because it’s not “fun” or super impactful. But it’s always solid and would look good on literally ANYONE! No matter your skin tone or age. I think that’s one thing the lux brands do well is they really cater to us on the go busy lasses who want a quick glam. They’re also incredibly smoothing for an older or aging audience who absolutely do not want bold glitter or intense texture. And it’s not usually teens or 20 something’s who are willing to spend that price point on makeup. Brands like TF, Dior and especially Chanel are never what I reach for when I want to “play” (unless I’m going for a bold red lip, which is most days) but they’re that sleek staple that never does you wrong. Anyway, those are my $0.02. I love these videos by the way!
THIS 1,000% this! I reach for nude dip more often than practically any other palette in my massive collection. It’s the ease of use and sophistication of the formula. I love how they shine but don’t have all the chunky micro glitter, it’s become almost impossible to find wet looking shiny shades without glitter. I also really love how the wet/dry formula wears throughout the day.
Hi Amanda, I made my perfect hybrid palette by taking my favourites from the Glam palette and swapping them out with my less favourite shades from I Need a Nude, best makeup move I ever made. I now have my dream, everyday neutrals palette that I use constantly. I appreciate you may not want to do that for the sake of content creation but I just wanted to put it out there 😊
I love that your palettes look like they got use out of them. One thing I hate about declutter videos is the mass amounts of palettes that are untouched
Nude Dip is DEFINITELY a cult classic and YES that would be a great video. Nude Dip is probably my all time favorite palette or at least my all time favorite quad. I always use mothership X (Moonlight Seduction) with mothership 1 (the one you decluttered). To me they are the two cool leaning palettes. I love those first six mattes in #1 and the shimmers and special shades in #10, which are in that taupe color family!
I would really love to see a review of the Clio Soft Depth palette please! I love those Revlon palettes. The shade on the far left of the "That's a dub" palette is just such a gorgeous molten metal finish.
My favorite thing about makeup is how personal it is and I enjoy the journey about finding what works for me. I ordered the ND Hy-Per Natural palette the day it dropped, and I loooooove it and use it everyday. BUT I was specifically looking for a one-and-done, super easy eyeshadow palette. I apply one of the eyeshadows with my fingers in less than 10 seconds, swipe on the bronzer (so easy to blend), put a pop of blush on the apples of my cheeks, and I am ready to go.
Nouveau has remained top drawer for me, specifically for the mattes …& OMG the shade Paloma is my Favorite lid shade for an otherwise all matte eye. It’s the perfect example of a satin matte ( which are SO tragically under represented in the beauty industry) I’m embarrassed to admit I might have picked up a backup palette solely for that shade alone. I know! That’s what I’ve been driven too in my search for satin/satin matte shades …..they just don’t seem to exist anymore. Ok I seriously need to try Rabanne, I love a smooth creamy matte …the Danessa Myricks groundwork palette made me realize just how much I value creamy formulas❤ Nude dip is a total Cult classic & 100% “worth it” the ease of use and sophistication of the formula just makes it something I reach for SO often. The formula isn’t overly micro glittery and still reminds really shiny which I find is a rarity as well. It’s only “worth it” if you’re gonna use it semi-regularly.
I have a couple duos and the green quad from Rabanne and I am obsessed. I kind of like that they have sort of flown under the radar and aren't super talked about and hyped. They are beautiful and the one you have the next one of my list to get!
Loved this Amanda thank you. I need to do a declutter but I’ve realised I need to get to know the ones I own better first. It’s like you say, you get flooded and don’t get a chance to get to know the ones you have. I think no more eyes for me until I learn some more about what I have and can declutter with the level of insight you have shown here. 😘
I’ve been going back and forth on the ABH rose metals palette for months now. I’m currently on a low buy but it’s definitely on my wish list for after, it’s so pretty!
I love those videos where you cover many products, it’s super helpful. I would also love to see a best of/absolutely favorite eye products (cream, liquid, and powder eyeshadows)
Love your detailed declutters! Delilah fell out of my I need a nude immediately. I should have exchanged it but I re pressed and tried to be super careful but of course it happened again. Still…one of my all time fav palettes. Hyper natural was an immediate regret.
Love to see the Roen Quads still kicking. The 75 degree palette would be a great replacement for the gold lust palette, they're warm and beautifu- it's in my makeup bag for days where I need a quick palette on the go! Also the Roen quads are soooo handy for travel. They're slim and won't shatter, when I spent 10 days in Europe the only shadows I took with me were 2 roen quads lol. I think I have 4 total and they're really versatile and lovely.
The two PMG palettes you like the least, I like the most 😂 and Bronze Seduction 😍 and the 3CE Palette is one of my everyday faves. Everyone ist different ❤
The issue With the newer roen palettes is that the creator of the brand has been kicked out of her own brand, so they changed the creative direction for the worst IMHO. Some people complained that the older quads were too textired and full of glitter, so they went for this satiny stuff that killed fhe magic as you said.
I like my 2 Pat McGrath palettes, but I do not plan on buying any more now that I’ve discovered Clionadh, Devinah, Terra Moons, and other indie brands- all of those brands make incredible sparkly shimmer, duochromes, and multichromes- the colors of which I think are much more interesting than PMG. I also love Natasha Denona.
I am so impressed with how curated your collection is. I have hundreds of palettes and I don’t review makeup for a living! I love how you only keep the ones that you really believe are the BEST quality. I also notice that you don’t really have any indie palettes. Is there a reason?
im very pleased to watch your content Amanda, i d like to ask do swatches of more shades or all of shades, i understand that is very time consuming and draining, u dont have to do it, i d appreciate if u do it🥰
I think you will enjoy Joocyee eyeshadows Amanda! I recently picked up their grey & pink palette & adore it. They make some of the most beautiful sparkly topper shades & twinkly topper shades 🤤
I can’t agree more on the way you described the Lorac Noir palette. It was one of my wisest purchases and I wanted to buy all Lorac palettes because of Noir…
K-Beauty palettes I would recommend are the Romand- Better Than Palette in Mahogany Garden, and Clio Pro Eye Palettes in shades 02, 08, 12, and 16 depending on what color story you are into! Hope you find one that works for you! 🥰💕
For Asian eye shadows, instead of kbeauty I like the Japanese brand Excel which has amazingly natural, buttery-smooth satin shades!! My favourite at the moment
I was so impressed when I swatched a couple of Excel satin shades, and they were so affordable I picked them up. Can I ask, do you apply them with a brush? I feel like swatched with fingers they looked amazing but I can't get the buttery-ness to translate onto the lids
@@juliet3150 I use my fingers for sure! I haven't tried with brushes but I usually use fingers and fine brushes for inner corner shimmers! Their quads are incredible though
Your declutter videos are the best on UA-cam hands down! Addiction and Three are two J-beauty brands that have more pigmented eyeshadows (speaking as a WOC) compared to the K-beauty brands.
This is perfect. I've just been looking for a nice neutral palette and as you have the taste I like, this might be inspirational. Have a great day :):)
The Natasha denona mini my dream cheek palette with the highlighter and two blushes…. That pan is the same size (I think) as the pan size in that Natasha denona palette you just said you were defluttering. If only that mini had removable pan!!!!! That’d be perfect to put into this new palette because it has a highlighter! Anyways, I’m hopeful that Natasha comes out with other shades of blushes and bronzers so we can change them out.
Amanda, have you ever tried setting/layering the Mob Beauty Cream Clay eyeshadows with the Urban Decay Moondust shadows? Asking because I’d like to try doing that and you’re my glossy eyeshadow kween
I know you said you’re going to declutter Moonlit Seduction but Blitz Venus is probably my favourite Pat McGrath shade ever. It’s so pretty and great as a one and done. I would encourage you to swatch it one more time before you get rid of the palette (just in case!).
Luckily both of the Tom Ford quads I own came in mystery boxes, because honestly they are so sheer and unimpressive that paying that price feels like robbery, especially considering how good other formulas are at both low and mid price. In fact i think i decluttered the nude one!
Would love to see a cult classic video of Nude Dip. People seem to love the TF Body Heat palette as well, but even on sale it's so expensive. I'm worried about buying the 11:11 Roen palette. If the original creator isn't on board, what's to stop them from changing the formula? It's sooo beautiful though. I'd love to know why the cool toned/subliminal PM palette wasn't your cup of tea. I love my Huetopian Dream, but I have sooo many warm shadows already haha
I think I must be the only one that really likes the ND hyper real palette. I love this palette and have been getting a ton of use. I did swap out one shade for another ND color. I also love the glimmer shades. I don’t like the sparkles for everyday. To each their own! 😊
I wanted this one and had the chance to swatch in store first. So glad I did. I actually loved the eyeshadows and could have worked with a bronzer for my matte. But, that bronzing brick was such a chalky feel and the tones were wrong. I also got turned off by the cheek side coolness too. She should have come out with options for the face pans. I am glad it works for you, and a bit jealous too! Enjoy it!
Kbeauty eyeshadows in general won't give high pigmentation and it's for more minimal, natural looks. You can try the Romand and Dasique palettes they have interesting and fun color stories.
I’m so disappointed and embarrassed. I’ve been watching you for over a year now and just realized I haven’t been subscribed! Just subscribed. Also reading the comments as I watch and am excited that I purchased 4 of the 5 Lorax pallets for half off on Ulta yesterday. I couldn’t find much about them on TikTok, and now this video is on my feed!
Me: "never has and never will buy a single eyeshadow palette in my life" Also me: *sits down to watch Amanda talk for an hour about eyeshadow palettes*
I think your lights are a touch bright i was struggling to see swatches ..great video tho ..i nearly cried when you git rid of subliminal i have it and dont use it often but i cant make myself part with any of my pat mcgrath palettes 😂😂😂 great willpower😅❤❤
Have you tried pat mcgraph major dimension lll and makeup by Mario master mattes and the neutrals? I would love to see other peoples opinion on them/ review, I’m debating buying them but they’re a bit pricy for me and am just not sure if they’re worth the hype.
I would only get a Tom Ford palette if it had the TF embossed (means it’s the wet/dry formula) in shadows and is a color story I love. Otherwise their other formulas aren’t worth it to me.
You have a really old palette from 3CE...this one came out in 2018 and is a very outdated formula. Etude House, Clio, Espoir, Wakemake, Rom&nd and the newer 3CE palettes have great high shine shimmers w pigmentation. However a lot of sequin shades are SUPPOSED to be sheer, it's not a lack of ability to formulate. So it depends on the palette :which season and aesthetic is it for. There is quite a variety in pigmentation, brightness and finish for Korean eyeshadows and it's almost always purpose because seasonal releases differ from each other quite a bit. But there's plenty helpful detailed reviews for Korean palettes on UA-cam w very good swatches and formula descriptions
I love this content but I struggle with the green background. It’s hard for me to put colors in perspective with that contrast. There’s something wrong with me 😞
I know I say Natasha Denonna instead of Danessa Myricks- for some reason I always get them mixed up in my head (this has happened before lol) sorry and thanks for the patience 😅
Natasha (three syllables) Danessa (three syllables) & both are commonly abbreviated to ND & DM so it makes sense in my mind. 😅
I’m soooo glad it’s not just me! I have them fully distinct in my head as women, as brands and as two separate lines of (quite different!) products. But for some reason when I’m chattering away I seem to word-vomit the wrong one once in a while
Thank you
I actually had to go look it up because I couldn’t remember 😂 we all mess up!
So do I!! I thought I was the only one. Especially when I just began hearing them referenced and didn’t have an image to each brand!
these videos are my super bowl
💯💯💯
Same 😂
Heck yeah
no literally
yes!! would absolutely appreciate a “de-influencing” type video since it feels like every new release goes viral these days!
usually in korean makeup styles, they tend to prefer a more of washed-out watercolor look for eyeshadow. that's why korean eyeshadow palettes tend to not be that pigmented as western eyeshadow palettes~
Totally! Love the looks so much but prefer higher pigment shadows to get there is what I mean :)
Oh yea i bought one this year and its defs a easy makeup for dummies kinda formula. Its impossible to mess up.
Love this!
I used to think that, too, but I think it has more to do with gaslighting consumers into believing that less is more. That’s why brushes and learning how to apply makeup are important, you can apply as little/much as you like.
@@daniceei dont think u are using gaslight correctly lol its just different makeup cultures
Amanda - yes we need a video of overhyped and underwhelming complaint video. Your videos are absolutely wonderful to watch!
I love watching you talk about eyeshadows. It's not a simple like or don't, but there's details of formula and swatches. I really enjoyed this.

I am intrigued in floralisis. They are so pretty.

I love these type of declutter videos with mini reviews! I actually thought that you had a much larger eyeshadow collection than this.
definitely curious about the floralisis palette- especially the second one!
okay awesome thank you !!
So curious about the steely grey colour and the light copper colour in that left palette. They both look shiny and possibly multidimensional!
I have two Lorac Noir and soleil and Meraki palettes 😅 I love them so much ❤ This eyeshadows are the best on the market 😊
As someone who looks awful with
1. saturated shades
2. warm shades AND
3. dark shades
the dusty k-beauty palettes are amazing for me lol!

I would only get a Tom Ford palette if it had the TF embossed (means it’s the wet/dry formula) in shadows and is a color story I love. Otherwise their other formulas aren’t worth it to me.
All the video ideas you mentioned here, please do! 🤩
Thank you! And good job! 🎉 PS RE the danessa myricks, you say “all of these putty textures”-does that mean the putty formula varies throughout?
I'd like to see swatches of Floralisys(sp) and some looks on you.
Would love to see a Florasis review!
Yes florasis review plz
What do you think of colourpop? :)
I love this content but I struggle with the green background. It’s hard for me to put colors in perspective with that contrast. There’s something wrong with me 😞
