Peak Powder Snowboarding at a Resort || Mount Washington, BC

- I've travelled and worked in amazing places for skiing and snowboarding including Australia, New Zealand, Japan and USA; but there is something so rewarding about riding your own local ski resort on an epic day. This video will show you what a perfect day at a resort looks and feels like. It's the equivalent of shooting an eagle in golf, catching a barrel surfing or getting a hat trick in hockey; everything has to come together just right and it is always unexpected.

This perfect day of riding happened on Vancouver Island at my local mountain resort, Mount Washington. The cherry on top of this epic day was that the backside lift (Boomerang) opened and I was able to be on the second chair to this expert only zone with access to double black diamond slopes and chutes only.
I hope this gets you amped to get out there and ride.

I can't imagine the feeling of freedom you must feel being in such a "untouched" environment!! Looked awesome!!
I LIVE THERE LETS GOO EXCITED FOR THE SEASON
Yet another amazing video. Your POV makes everything feel real for the viewer. An awesome blue bird day. Any chance of getting a blooper vid from you in the future? Pow day bloopers are fun. I remember dropping off a small cliff and landing in chest deep powder and stopping dead wondering how the....crap I am stuck. Meanwhile my friends are laughing at me. 😂
James Michaud haha, thanks James, I’m sure I could be able to put together something in the future!
Epic day dude. Nice footage.
Amazing content!. thanks for sharing ! I will be doing to road trip to Vancouver and moving to BC from Toronto. can't wait to check out all these locations!
The production value is so good
Thanks Alex, I'm looking forward to creating more content this winter, I appreciate the positive feedback!
Man, keep making videos like this!!!!
I worked there during the '09/'10 season. This video brings back good memories, thanks for making it.
That's awesome, it is a real gem of a mountain. Have you been back since? Where do you mostly ski now?
@@RyandeMilliano unfortunately I haven't been back since then. I live in Whitehorse now, so I'll start riding the local hill (Mt Sima) and get into back country riding, but in between then and now I've ridden Fernie, Revelstoke, Kicking Horse, Sunshine, Lake Louise and Whistler. I need to get out more times per season.
Keep shredding.
Hello friend, very good video👍👍👍👍👍 great content big like for you my new friend!
I ate shit so hard back there last season. Like cartwheeling down the hill. I can't wait to do it again.
It’ll do that to ya haha.
you derve wayyyy more views
wow it looks way less mellow on cam then it is in real life.. i thought i could handle it based off your footage but the part where u dropped in from the lift is super steep!. it also wasn't a very good snow day..
i will try it out again on a pow day
Yeah, there is always a heavy ‘GoPro’ effect with those shots! The outback is definitely gnarly terrain, but super rewarding on the right day. There is another entrance down the car track that is more mellow, then a chute under the chair that is steep but manageable terrain, I’d recommend that for your next go at it!
Just moved from Washington state, can't wait to hit this
It’s fucking beauty up there. Get season passes every year it’s so nice
Can’t believe the seasons over 😪 the back side is almost as good as the park😢😢 can’t wait till next szn
Agreed, something out of our control, but a good reason to start enjoying summer early!
Love mt Washington im going there tomorrow lol
Nice! Did you get some powder runs?
We went sledding and we went tubing it was like a vacation we stayed in a cabin for 3 nights
@@vimpex5157 you went to mount Washington and didn’t ski/snowboard lol😑
Nice one! Never been on the backside - still feel I need to master the blacks on Eagle and Hawk first!
Is that a Kindred board?
Nice, agreed, the outback is quite challenging, but a solid milestone once you master it. The board is an Arbor Coda Rocker 163MW.
Nice, thanks!
I’m watching this video right now in 2024 and Mount Washington isn’t nearly as good as that it’s just ice and slush. Wish it was still like that
i always wanted to hit boomerang but neither me nor my friends have ever done it so we don't know if we could handle it, so we are scared to go :S i can do most runs on the main side of the mountain
Right on, it is very challenging terrain and amazing once your ready for it, but there is no rush. There’s plenty of great terrain to tackle on the frontside!
Boomerang is a blast. I recommend it if its open after a dump.
I took a lesson with my husband and my ski teacher took us down the backside after we told him I had never been there. For your first time, look for a day with good snow, reasonably deep already, and not icy. The runs down the back side are all difficult. But I survived. If you take a lesson, your teacher can help you find the easiest way down the back side. Also they could offer advice as to whether or not they think you could handle it, and would know what the conditions are like back there.
There is a very easy run down the front side (the Dingo). You can go up and peek over the back side to see what it looks like. Then go down the Dingo. There is also lots of pretty easy terrain down the front side besides the Dingo. The section that is nearest to where the 6-pack lets out can have some really nice powder. I have taken a beginner on that section and he loved it. I was surpised to see that I was in line for the Boomerang chair that day (blue jacket, pink goggle strap) at the 4:40 mark of that video. I don't know who the boarder to my left is. The guy in the navy jacket on my right is my husband Brad.
