It may feel that way but you should be getting some moisture in there. You can skip days if it feels moisturized but if not then throw some in.

Soooo I tried laying my edges the way you did, because I have been struggling for the longest time on why they weren’t laying the way I wanted them to. Girl.. when I tell you I had swoops and shii. I guess it was because of putting the band on my hairline and actually paying attention to my edges, but I got such beautiful swoops and trust me sus ya girl was acting a fool. Like I was so happy, so I just wanted to say thank you, because now you got my edges looking right as they should be ! 😭❤️

My hair looks like this all summer Haha. I decrunchify by just hopping in the shower and wetting my hands and rubbing it through my hair. Works like a charm when I shower in the mornings.

I do this every time I'm going to leave the house. I take my twist out and spritz with water and smooth my hair with my hands to get rid of the twist-out look and my natural pattern returns. Shake and go on about my day.

When I do a puff (which is rare because I feel like it's damaging to my hairline) I use a bandana and don't tie it very tight.

I have very coarse hair I believe. It’s super tight curls like spirals that sometimes may try and turn into dreads. So I’m guessing very coarse lol plus it’s sandy brown and honey blonde. So it’s extra brittle I feel. Lately I’ve been using dollar tree products which work great but I’m so happy that you confirmed brittle texture is okay because I really thought it was super dry even when it’s moisturized, but I will be buying the hair softener.

I do this method with a strip of some old leggings. The trick to tying the band is using aligator clips or small rubber band to gather the hair at the top and then tie it. Great vid!

Hey I have some old videos with my TWA.
I literally had to do that every morning. It got so hard to do my hair. On top of that I suffer from headaches , so the slightest bit of tension would make it hurt. I couldn't take it anymore so I cut it off. My hair I short now. It was around the same length as yours.
Hey I know you definitely know best about your hair but I do not do this style everyday at all. My hairline would be destroyed. I usually do this and just wear the fro like I said in the beginning.
