Very good vid, I have a 2013 crv and thinking about installing one of these however I notice you’ve put apple car play in the description but I know you don’t have an iPhone so no way of testing it, is there any videos you can show the apple carplay? That’s the one thing that’s holding me back! Thanks for making these videos by the way.
I'm seriously considering this...thanks for the video...Do these Joying units drain any battery? I'm assuming they remain in standby mode. Can they be made to switch off completely when the car is turned off and how long would it take to boot off if that was the case. I suppose you'd lose settings in that kind of setup.
You can set them to turn completely off every time but that is super annoying due to the long boot time. They go into a very low power state when the car is off. If the battery voltage drops over time, they shut down and power off completely.
One more question, does it have the ability to enable your steering wheel controls? My car is currently at the audio shop for installing this unit and audio shop is saying they're not able to get the steering controls to work. Is there an option in the unit that must be enables for for the steering wheel controls to work?
Info for 2015 Touring: Cars with factory amps may need an additional harness (Metra 70-1730). Replace the speaker cables with the RCA connectors; this also provides the connector needed for the factory sub to work (enables 4.1). For lane watch to work plug BSM CAM into the back of the head unit. Ensure handbrake monitor is off (aprox 18:00 in video) and Right Camera Switch is on (Settings - Display - Aux) Radio Code is: 8888 if needed
Thank you for that info, i was just looking for the solution, unfortunately wire is not in package, neither available in europe :/ edit I've managed to find it in Europe in TME, it's called ASA.9. The cable is broken by design, you need to break red wire and solder it with blue. You only need this small RCA cable in order for sub to work.

Thanks, I have now installed the unit. Could you help me with this issue. getting a radio noise in the speakers when the media volume is zero. Is there any setting to adjust? All the wires are connected on the back of unit.
I'm not sure what would cause that. That is not normal behavior. Do you have an external factory amp? If so I would contact Joanne directly to see if there's anything that can be done to correct it. I have not experienced that type of issue.
How does the touchscreen feel? Does it have the iPhone / Samsung Galaxy quality? One of the problems with most of these touchscreens is that it is hard to zoom in / zoom out on something like Google Maps. Does this feel like using a smartphone? Especially when it comes to Zooming in / out on Google Maps?
This is the premium Android head unit you are looking for. It is Samsung quality in my opinion. The cheap garbage on eBay / amazon gives them all a bad name.

Great video! I just purchased the 10.1 8gb RAM for my daughter's 2016 CRV LX (non-screen model). Couple of questions if you please. What is exactly the purpose of the USB INTEGRATION HARNESS and do I need it? Do the phone buttons on the steering wheel work automatically on my daughter's CRV model or there is a mod to do like the back-up camera I'm gonna have to do? I noticed that live wallpaper background with the fishes...can that be change to a static wallpaper instead?...I don't like useless waste of RAM on my devices. Thank a bunch!!
You don't need to do the USB Integration harness, but you won't be able to plug into the USB port in the center console. The phone buttons will not work, just the volume and left right. To make them functional, you have to follow my other video on how to do it. You can use any wallpaper you want. It's just like a Android phone or tablet.
@JackofAllMasterofNone. I do want the center console USB working so I guess I will be purchasing the harness. Not sure where it connects...do you show it in one of your videos? I also found your video on how to wire the steering wheel phone buttons...thank you! On a side note...since this is Android, does this unit also comes with a lot of pre-installed bloatware (subjective obviously). Just curious since I will eventually use ADB via wifi to disable whatever packages I feel she won't need to make it run better like i do to all our Samsung phones. Again...thank you very much for your info.
No bloat ware. I would not disable anything it comes with the exception of UA-cam or stuff like that if you don't want her to have access to it. There is nothing non essential that you can't just uninstall luckily. This is Android based but the backend is very different than a Samsung phone. There is tight integration with the OS and the MCU, which controls radio functions. Disabling certain apps will cause the unit to not function.
Hi Jack, I just installed this unit in my 2013 Touring with factory nav. I ran into a few issues: 1) I noticed there's a noticeable background noise/high noise floor when the unit is on. Did you find the same thing? 2) I couldn't get the bottom of the trim to sit flush, there is a small gap along the bottom edge - any tips on how to correct this? 3) I can no longer adjust the time in my iMID screen, is there a way to adjust the time?
I have only installed these on LX and EX model CRVS. Yours has an external amplifier so that is why it is hissing. You would be better off reaching out to Joying to troubleshoot these issues. As far as the trim to sit flush, try removing a few of the plastic clips from the top of the unit (if I recall correctly) and it will pop right in. The imid time display issue is probably canbus setting related. Again, try asking Joying. All of the ones I have done has worked flawlessly and the imid gets it time from the head unit
Great video. But what other video is it that you talk about those other steering wheel buttons? I have a 2013 civic and cannot get them to set to my joying radio.
I just got my unit installed, last night, went back today and ordered the front and rear camera bundle, so I hate to pull it back out of the dash to check, but I see where the ebay listing for this unit mentions an SD card slot....A. Where is the slot located? B. Would I theoretically be able to install a card, and record camera footage to that card? Thanks in advance.
The SD card slot is on the radio unit itself on the front, so you have to remove the screen to get to it. Yes, the SD card is the preferred location to record DVR video.
I can’t get apple carplay to recognize the car as Honda like you did on the older units. It just says “Car”. Is it something you’ve come across or have been able to fix?
Hi, I have a question. on Joying website, under the optional accessories, they offer optional ODB2. If anybody have installed this or know what is it, can you please tell me what do they do ? Thank you for the very helpful video.
It plugs into the OBD2 port under your dash and communicates via Bluetooth to the head unit. You can use applications like Torque Pro to then read engine and transmission data or codes, etc. The only drawback is that it is always on and can run down your battery if you don't drive the car often. Otherwise, it's kind of a neat feature
Hello friend, I have the same car with genuine gps navigation system and amp, I already buy a joying screen but I cannot adjust the clock on the top small screen, how can I do please ? Thank you very much :)
I have this exact same Headunit model, and I got it installed in my Honda CRV 2016. I think my Honda has that premium audio package (with amp), and what's happening is that even at volume zero I get this constant Static noise coming from my speakers. Do you know what could be causing it, and how could I fix it?
I'm confused about the backup camera support. Some videos suggest it will work with the factory camera but others say it won't now. I asked Joying and they said it does.

@JackofAllMasterofNone Hi, I'm looking to get one of these units. Does wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay work with the factory USB port in the center console without making modifications to the wiring harness? If no, is only wireless Android Auto/ CarPlay available with the plug-and-play setup? Thanks :)
You have options. The center console USB port is plug and play with the right adapter. I think Joying even includes it now with the kit. It plugs into the back of the iMid screen though, not the stereo, so you also have to remove it to interface with the center console USB port. You can also just run one of the included USB lines to the glove box and / or use wireless AA or Carplay. Many options.
Question I just install joying 10 inch version on crv 2015 exl ,everything works except no audio, I reboot, unplug and plug all the cables twice and still, any idea?
Hello…. I’m sorry but I believe you are wrong. I saw in another video that when you are choosing the camera you can scroll down to see the original camera which is in different format. Also I ask joying and they said yes it’s compatible. Please review and update. 😊👍 Thank you
I first saw your earlier video with the 9inch unisoc processor.. almost bought it but then saw this and I'm like. Hmm.. is the performance improvement noticable using Snapdragon with 8gb/128?
For a 2012-2016 CRV I recommend the Android 10 version. Some people are reporting canbus compatibility issues with the Android 12 version, although it worked fine for me. The performance increase is not noticeable.
It's one of the options in the settings under wallpaper. You do have to make sure it's installed. Check the file manager in the "Owner_APK" folder. It's called Ocean HD-1.8.1.apk Once you install it you can select it from the settings
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks. I just got the same unit and can see some differences beetween the US and and the Europe versions. BTW. Really important question im definitely about to buy one of these radios but to me it almost looks like the user interface is better on the older version 10 android joying radio for instance can you change the background image lmyou know like set a wallpaper and can you change like the color theme on the new android 12 one? Which one is better new or older one??
The new one has way more features. I at first thought the same thing that the old interface looked better but the new one looks great in person and you can change the background and colors.
My 2012 crv has navigation from the factory. My question is will i be able to automatically have navigation through this without having to do any extra steps? Only just using the factory connection?
I just installed this unit on my 2016 CRV EXL with Navigation. You will need to select the correct model from the Joying store (I used Ali Express) and make sure it has the correct wiring harness and whatnot. The unit comes with a new GPS module that needs to be mounted somewhere under your dash. Luckily my 2016 model I was able to unplug the original GPS receiver and put the new one into its spot where it fits perfectly. The navigation built in to the unit is just using google maps. I use apple car play so I don’t need the inbuilt navigation and technically shouldn’t need to install the GPS receiver module because the iPhone acts as the GPS receiver in that case. I believe android auto will be the same. So to summarise if you use apple car play or android auto you don’t need to install the seperate included module but you can since it’s there so why not. If you only plan on using the joying heads units built in functionality you will need to install the included module. Hope this helps
Hi what's up, I have the same Joying radio in my 2018 Honda crv ex. But only the radio has sound, no sound from UA-cam, Spotify, Bluetooth nor USB drive. Only radio has sound. Thanks.
I'm just confused with one thing: I have 2015 Honda CRV EX-L, so in this case do I still have to buy RCA BACKUP CAM CABLE? or it's just plug and play with new 10.1 inch model with 8+128gb? Thanks!
I have a Touring. The harness Joying sent with the head unit had the backup camera ready to go. Lane watch camera is a different story, but working on it.
During installation was there any issue with the hazard switch on the top? - some european users had complained the hazard switch was difficult to accommodate with the design of the previous 10.1" model
I just installed this unit in my 2016 Honda CRV EXL and yes there is an issue with the hazard button sticking in the on position once pressed. You can change out the 2 screws with slightly smaller ones and the button will seat itself more correctly and function as normal. The overall fit of the screen mount is not as good as I had hoped and I had some slight issues installing my air vents into the new moulding. Not a deal breaker but it will require some finessing to get it clipped into place.
There is a setting that I missed. In the display settings under the backup camera tab there is a way to change the input type to support CVBS signal. So it will in fact work with a factory backup camera.
Are you able to change the time in the iMID display after installing the Joying unit 10.1 inch model? The control buttons will not let me change the time and now I have a 6-hour difference in the iMID display unit vs Joyings which shows the correct time.
The Joying unit will auto change the imid time. That's how it's supposed to work. If it isn't working something is wrong with the setup. Most likely a canbus issue.
is it possible to connect the existing USB sockets in the armrest to connect to this headunit?..they must have a lead that goes up the existing head unit? Thanks
Watch this video. It will answer all your questions. It is possible, but requires a little work. ua-cam.com/video/90UcjAd9SQI/v-deo.htmlsi=5QN7VuYvjbj2SQFk
The version that was shipped to me now includes a USB retention cable which allows you to keep one of your original centre console USB ports. You’ll be able to figure out which cable to plug the usb retention adaptor into based on how the tip of it looks. It will be either the grey or mint green tip and will be leftover once all the other cables are plugged into the wiring harness. You will need to shave the small plastic nipple from the top of the original usb cable using a knife or file so that the usb retention cable plugs in the whole way due to it being slightly too tight to fit. If you use CarPlay make sure to plug the usb cable into the back of stereo unit into the port labeled OTG. You can now use that centre console usb cable to play your iPhone or android device and it will work correctly.
I am trying to complete installing my Android 12 9” Joying in a 2015 CRV SE. The audio is really quiet. I am wondering if the harness is not correct. I am surprised at how quiet it is. Any ideas?
I would contact Joying directly. The SE has no factory amp so it should be a direct connection from the stereo to the speakers. It's probably just a setting that needs changed.

You can also just run one of the included USB lines to the glove box and / or use wireless AA or Carplay. Many options.
Ok great, thank you for the information!
Hi I have a 2016 crv can I get speakers in the panel on the inside of the lift gate inside ty Vernon
Question I just install joying 10 inch version on crv 2015 exl ,everything works except no audio, I reboot, unplug and plug all the cables twice and still, any idea?
Not sure. You should ask the seller for assistance
Hello…. I’m sorry but I believe you are wrong. I saw in another video that when you are choosing the camera you can scroll down to see the original camera which is in different format.
Also I ask joying and they said yes it’s compatible.
Please review and update. 😊👍
Thank you
I already posted an update video and see my pinned comment in the comments section of this video.
Question, does it support things like voice commands/text message reading or anything like that? (can it link to googles assistant for example)??
It does have Google voice features.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone thank you so much
How did you fire up that ocean backgorund/wallpaper?
It's one of the options in the settings under wallpaper. You do have to make sure it's installed. Check the file manager in the "Owner_APK" folder. It's called Ocean HD-1.8.1.apk
Once you install it you can select it from the settings
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks. I just got the same unit and can see some differences beetween the US and and the Europe versions. BTW. When you go the the apps, can you change the position of an app on the screen? Or move a given app to a different window, just like one can do it on an adnroid phone?
Really important question im definitely about to buy one of these radios but to me it almost looks like the user interface is better on the older version 10 android joying radio for instance can you change the background image lmyou know like set a wallpaper and can you change like the color theme on the new android 12 one? Which one is better new or older one??
The new one has way more features. I at first thought the same thing that the old interface looked better but the new one looks great in person and you can change the background and colors.
My 2012 crv has navigation from the factory. My question is will i be able to automatically have navigation through this without having to do any extra steps? Only just using the factory connection?
Should be able to but I haven't installed one on a CRV with factory navigation so you should reach out to Joying first to double check
Thanks.
The only advice I can have is to try to reset the unit but it sounds like an internal hardware problem
@@JackofAllMasterofNone thanks
I'm just confused with one thing: I have 2015 Honda CRV EX-L, so in this case do I still have to buy RCA BACKUP CAM CABLE? or it's just plug and play with new 10.1 inch model with 8+128gb? Thanks!
Should be plug and play if you have the factory nav screen. But check with Joying to be sure.
Got it! Thanks!@@JackofAllMasterofNone
It comes with a built in hazard switch. It works well
@@JackofAllMasterofNone So you don't have to get out the dremel to make room?
I just installed this unit in my 2016 Honda CRV EXL and yes there is an issue with the hazard button sticking in the on position once pressed. You can change out the 2 screws with slightly smaller ones and the button will seat itself more correctly and function as normal. The overall fit of the screen mount is not as good as I had hoped and I had some slight issues installing my air vents into the new moulding. Not a deal breaker but it will require some finessing to get it clipped into place.
does the joying that doesn't support the OEM back up camera only applies for these CRV''s model or other as well.? thanks in advanced.
There is a setting that I missed. In the display settings under the backup camera tab there is a way to change the input type to support CVBS signal. So it will in fact work with a factory backup camera.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone I assume all the Joying Android 12 model sizes have this ability? I was looking at purchasing the 9" model vs the 10.1 inch.
@@JackofAllMasterofNoneFactory reset or the canbus has to be flashed?
It's in the factory settings
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Thanks, canbus was set to Honda-DA. Changed it to CRV12/Civic and clock synced automatically with the iMID display.
Glad to hear you got it figured out. Others have had this issue also. Hopefully your comment will help them. Thank you!
Does this unit support wireless android auto? I know some units support wireless apple car play but android auto can only function while plugged in.
It does. I believe you have to have Android 11 or 12 or higher for it to support it though.
my 10th generation honda civic backup cam is working however i can no longer switch between camera angles is there a way to get it working?
There should be yes. If the canbus settings are correct, the option will appear on the backup cam screen. Contact Joying for further support
is it possible to connect the existing USB sockets in the armrest to connect to this headunit?..they must have a lead that goes up the existing head unit? Thanks
Watch this video. It will answer all your questions. It is possible, but requires a little work.

@@JackofAllMasterofNone Try this: Sound effects - Major - Gain Adjustment. Adjust the gain up for each speaker. Mine was too loud (from the factory each at 10) and I had to adjust them down. My issue was turning the volume from 0 to 1 would sound like it was going from 0 to about 15.
Have you tryed the the teyes android headunits. How do they compare to joying headunits.
Haven't tried one.
I bought this android stereo it shows the screen but there is no audio
Do the steering wheel radio related buttons still function?
Yes
Does this support dab+ or you need separate usb modul plus another radio app?
I believe you need a separate module but it has the app built in
Hi can you help me with my android stereo for a honda crv touring 2016 10 1
What’s your question? I just installed it into my 2016 CRV EXL. Might be able to help
So the side and rear camera will work with this brand ?
Yes
@JackofAllMasterofNone i want to change boot logo (honda) where did you get apk ?
It's on the unit. Look in the file explorer on the OEM drive I think
Thanks I looked and found owner_apk. ! Logo APK installer was there ! Thanks
Joying has posted a video on how to do this: ua-cam.com/video/Yci-eim1dF0/v-deo.html
That's really too bad. that the original camera is no longer recognized. ok stay with android 10 . because i am too scared and unfortunately have the wrong hands to install something new.
It is compatible with the the factory camera is just a different settings but it works
Yes original camera it’s compatible . You can scroll down and chose different formats according to what you have.
How do you set the clock on this device?
In the stereo settings
How much crv 2014
Hi sir d you know if you can put speakers in the panel ontheliftgateinsi
I'm sure you could do something custom. Would take some work
